  1. So i hear that people are looking at going over next year for a comp, any one from here planning too? I know i would like to if i am running with a team then.
  2. Sorry 'love', but when someone posts like you have spreading false information in your first post then people are going to call you out for trying to cause trouble..... Its a public forum, if you dont want to accept the variations of responses that arent to your liking then dont bother posting, My response was actually my opinon by the way something you said we are all allowed to have? One thought that majority of the flyballers got along well together and would have enjoyed celebrating, but anyway dont trolls live under bridges? Not troll nazis so off you go
  3. Have a little brag its not a competition one but anyway.... Today i took my two dogs and my sisters little dog, Buzz, for a walk together with the intention of letting them all off lead to run around, i have never walked Buzz off lead before let alone with my two dogs as well. Sister warned me he doesnt have the best (if any) recall but that he wouldnt stray far. I wore him out a little, knocked the 'OMG i am going for a walk' excitement out of him, did a little bit of recall training with promising results and then let him off.....and he did so well, he followed my two around for most of the time and was always the first one to turn when i called (poor boy is too little to beat my dogs back) They all even had a little play with each other, something they cant really do at home without running into walls.
  4. MMmm thanks for the info, i think i was thinking about KC instead of Parvo....getting my wires crossed
  5. I hope that if it is true the posters that started throwing troll accusations will be big enough to say sorry! A troll is someone who has signed up to just cause trouble, now the OP has made only one post...this one...which is spreading a rumour. So someone please tell me if this isnt a troll then what is?
  6. Well done SM Just wait till they start running properly and have them both running.......its so tiring (especially if in different teams!)
  7. If its a new strain...do they have a vaccine to cover that strain? If not, its not going to help the dogs to vaccinate agan IMO. AFAIK the current vaccine only covers one strain of parvo, which is why vaccinated dogs with apparant 'high immunity' can still get parvo.
  8. Mmm sounds like a troll too me, first post, trying to cause trouble......get a life really If the club is having a spit roast, flyballers have to pay for that dont they? So you arent paying for any wedding reception.
  9. I used this last year and you are supposed to go back in every year to get the KC booster.....that way the vet doesnt lose out money by offering a three year vaccine. Though my dogs wont be having any more vaccines, i just wish that the CCs catch up with the times and allow people to titre test instead of vaccinating every year.
  10. For the people who are feeding this, what is the results like?
  11. I voted Eagle Pack, once they finish this bag though i will be trying Orijen so hoping for some good results there.
  12. A flyball course is about 15 metres from start line to box, you will need at least 30 feet after the finish line for a run off area if you have fast dogs. Cant remember how wide it is but if its only one lane you wouldnt need much width. Agility, depends what equipment you have and what sort of course you want to set up really. You can train with as little as 2 jumps or have a whole course which would require a fair bit of area.
  13. I would do channel weaving with your dog, you already have the drive toward a toy down pat, just need too incorporate it into weaving Nova had been taught the hopping way and Darcy with the channel method, by far the channel method has had the best result for me.
  14. For me its not the fitness of the dog but rather the handler.....both dogs can run all day something they have done in flyball. If i was fitter, understood games rules and was organised enough to be where i am supposed to be i would enter all classes available to me but alas at the moment i only do 2 runs in a trial.
  15. Seems alot of dogs arent actually having their testicles return to their original size. Would this impact fertility rate?
  16. Scruffed??? I don't think i was harsh at all. Reminder to self to be gentle from now on. No one mentioned anything about my handling including judges or stewards. Thats what i (and alot of other competitors) thought the black card was for as well. Not for the dog but for the handlers treatment of the dog. TB i agree, for a sport that is suppose to be fun for both dogs and handlers some people take it way to seriously. Some people were taking it too seriously and need to step back and realise its supposed to be a fun hobby!!
  17. I-clicks here. Easier to use and you dont have to find the 'end' to click like on the box ones.
  18. I am in Roxby Downs. I got told there is alot of foxes around so maybe its carnivore bait?
  19. Ohh geez thats really scary.....they arent dropped within a 10km radius from town, would a bird carry a bait that far? We have a vet here so i will go in tomorrow and find out more about their facilities, if they dont have anything then the nearest town that has another vet is 2 1/2 hours away
  20. Ive recently moved to a place that does poisoning not far from the outskirts of town, now i didnt know this before i came so now am freaking out because i dont know what it would do dogs if they get the bait. So what are the signs and are fatalities high in dogs? Or can they recover easily?
  21. Yep would have been me. Only Pug there LOL. Unfortunately we got Black carded for running into the other lane. I have no idea why she did as she never has at training. Going to training tonight so will see how she is, then off to the Milton Demo this weekend. On a bettter note when she did run we got 2 points . Only 3 more for our first title LOL I didn't think you got black carded for that - i thought it was just a yellow card. You dont, unless there was aggression involved or something else did by the dog or handler that warranted it.
  22. I am bragging all over the place  We won Division 5 I had two dogs in that team so its double the pleasure
  23. We won division 5 at the National Flyball Championship on the weekend......and i had both dogs in the same team  Our team only lost one race for the whole two days. Both boys ran personal best times with Nova achieving 5.2 seconds twice and Darcy got a 4.9 which is slow to what he can do but he, at the moment, has a pretty bad turn....its very slow They got those times on the second day in one of the last races we had...which is when dogs usually start slowing down!!!! A couple of times both dogs ran in the same race together and Nova was handled by somebody else, which was actually when he got his PB times in the same race being ran by that person for the first time!! :p i only managed a 5.30 with him haha Very proud of my versatile boy I am so proud of them
