Thanks! She is fairly confident with herself so should accept everything well. Damn I hoped it was going to be outside and with sun Should have checked the forecast. I haven't shown inside for ages, I don't like it being so cramped. Well I received numbers, but not my numbers, for starters I got 3 back instead of two and it has Chesapeakes written on the back!
-
Going but no numbers yet. My baby girls first show so if you see a little Toller plodding around that's us!

Fingers crossed, I don't really want to travel interstate just to enter one class because it's not offered here! TO I was just thinking about ACT. Maybe we should team up. :o :D I was actually thinking about it, ACT is only what 8 hours away? From me anyway......mmm but I will have three dogs to show then, maybe.

Don't count on it!! I've been told several times that my Toller and their BC would make awesome puppies! Yeah right, I agree he would (and has) made awesome puppies but only with other Tollers. We got propersitioned at our dog club of all places :D He is now metaphorically desexed, thank goodness they have medium length coats! Going to have the same trouble with his daughter She will be "desexed" too I think, though had someone tell me I should breed the two together.....even when I told them they were father/daughter!

Also another who would like too know! Please!
-
Yay, Finally we may get too see more classes!! Someone please correct me if I am wrong but there are no classes offered in any upcoming (gazetted) Victorian shows, I think it's disgraceful. I don't care if I will then be showing 3 dogs of the same breed who will be the only entries (Yay too me :D) I want my neuter classes *stomps foot*

Got pretty damn close with my boy Darcy, the only thing I stuffed up is his doggy manners, he can be a bit rude with new dogs Dogs he knows well he will run and play with fine but add a new dog and he will hump it, apart from that he is really good! At training he can be offlead next to other dogs and ignores them. He is very very well behaved at home, basically toilet trained himself and has never had any accidents inside, very calm inside. He is such a sweetheart, and is well mannered with people, he could care less about people outside his family (Tollers are meant to be reserved) but he still accepts everything I put him through.

Why Can't People Just Follow The Rules!
Sayreovi replied to quickbrownfox's topic in General Dog Discussion
Happened to me today, I really don't get the annoying dogs where I live but I was in a different town this time walking around the park. We had stopped for a little bit too reorganise the lead situation, have a puppy that is still learning to walk with two other dogs without zizagging, running underneath and in front of other dogs, when I turned around to see a BC about 10 metres away stalking toward us owner was sitting on a bench a little further away watching Didn't look unfriendly more like wanting to round us up but with a baby pup wasn't going to take the chance. So I stood in front of mine, growled at it and tried to scare it away, it stopped advancing but then both my adult dogs stood up next too me and started growling at it as well (they are a bit protective of pup outside the yard) and baby pup barked at it too go away. :D Guess 2 1/2 dogs and 1 person was too much and it took off back too it's owner who was looking a bit worried! Told him too leash the damn thing before it gets its arse kicked by either dog or human. -
So I've seen what wonderful suggestions have been given when other people have done this so hoping one comes along for me :D My mind is just drawing a blank or when it does decide to throw a suggestion out there it's horrid So info....I have Tollers, 3 of them, 2 males Nova and Darcy and a little girl Jovi. My name is Natasha if that helps anything :D Ideally it would have something to do with Jovi, as in Bon Jovi, because her reg name is also BJ related, it's Sherbrooke Living on a Prayer and she is *fingers crossed* the reason I am getting the prefix! I keep thinking of Bon Jovi songs and things but like I said they have all been horrid so far, so please, thinking caps

Congrats! :D Well worth the trip then!

Thanks everyone, went to 4paws today and got all my PP products but they didn't have a table in my size :p Might give Liberty a call, they are much closer!
-
Do you mean the standard for height? So he is about 40cm? If that is what you mean, have you checked him on a different scale because if he is that small and looks like he does in the photo, no way can he weigh 30kgs!
-
Anyone recommend places in Victoria that sell good quality grooming tables and Plush Puppy products. Don't particulary want to buy a table online, would like to have a good look in person, hoping that the store that has the table also has PP though
-
It's my baby girls first show next weekend as well, I am really not expecting anything from her at all, she knows how to walk properly and stand but it will be a brand new environment so she may 'forget'. Judges are lenient on babies so don't worry, you can even let the steward and judge know it's her first show but I wouldn't worry too much, just make sure she has a fun time in the ring
-
Well he is either fat or just a really big Staffy, given that they only meant to weight 13-17kg when adults (dogs). Staffys just seem to be getting bigger and bigger. By comparison my Toller baby weighs 5.5kgs at 3 months and her adult weight is 17-20kg.

What Would You Do? Job Overseas Vs Dogs
Sayreovi replied to chichihuahua's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would do as others have suggested and go over first, get settled and then bring your dog over. That's what I would do, my dogs come everywhere with me, I couldn't leave them behind. I guess I "tied" myself down fairly young (3 dogs and only 22 years old) but my life wouldn't be the same without them and I have never seen them as a hinderence. One day I would like to live overseas and always take into account my dogs when thinking of it. -
If you find out, let us know! I haven't found any decent beef bones ever, the ones in the butchers/supermarkets are those big knuckle and leg bones with little too no meat on them. My puppy wasn't raised on bones so has been supervised carefully with them, she can tackle all the chicken pieces now and lamb flaps, once she is a little older she will be given lamb necks. Funnily enough she has a better technique then my older two dogs who have been eating bones for years, in that she stands on the piece with both front feet and rips with her teeth. Her dad especially is weird in that he doesn't like getting his paws dirty so will 'dance' around his food getting the best angles before laying down gingerly next to it
-
I guess thats true unfortunately , but they tried it out on the wrong person and when I go to collect my dogs history I will be telling them exactly why I am now using another vet.
-
Scary how often this is happening. While I can see why they try it on heavier breeds that are prone to HD and unknown heritage, playing on the owners fear, but too try it on a rare breed with a known background and will probably only weigh 15 kgs when full grown is unbelievable. Did they not think I wouldn't go away and research?
-
This is what really annoyed me as well, too say to me that even though her normal xrays are perfect, that she has very little laxity in the hips without doing a PennHIP too find out how much exactly is there just boggles the mind especially with such a young puppy! Basically no proof and i apparantly just had to trust them! I am now very curious as too what the specialist they originally referred me too would have said....... This is basically what happened with us, but I had taken her in barely 2 days after I got her to do the usual "bringing home a new puppy" check. So they basically hurt a brand new puppy that was scared enough already and I had no idea at that stage what was normal for her to walk like etc etc. Gah i should really stop thinking about it, I am just so angry with them! Attached a photo of Jovi, my pup that "will need a total hip replacement at 12 months if we don't do anything now"
-
I have and will in future withdraw my dog if we arent on a pass. I know he can stay and I dont want to stuff that up, he is a pretty cocky entire boy and would react to another dog standing over him.
-
This has been discussed a bit on GSD forums - apparently there have been a few breeders who have had puppy buyers call them in tears when the vet has seen them for vaccinations and told them they need to have JPS done. If the pup is a bit loose in its hocks or just because its a GSD, the vet says they're going to get HD and quick, do the op while they can. Yeah, from researching JPS (here and through Google ) it seems alot of vets are recommending it too larger breeds regardless if they have clinical signs or not "just in case"
-
Ahh I get you now, her xrays were fine no evidence at all of anything, both vet and specialist said this, they basically wanted to continue with the surgery regardless because she reacted to them manipulating her hips. The specialist did see them, I took them from the vet with me to see him, the positioning was fine apparantly to check for what he was looking for. I agree though, they basically wanted me too book her in for surgery that day! Thanks for the recommendation CB, going to go to Monash for her 12 week injection so fingers crossed I've found a vet (again)
