Pretty much constantly I had already thought of my fourth dog while my 3rd was growing up, my fourth (all things going well!) will be from my 3rd's first litter next year :D I do also have my name down for a pup from a different breed as there are only 2 breeders in Australia who rarely breed and they have smallish litters, so put my name down so when I am ready I won't be waiting 5 years for one :p

An easy one :)

Today at an agility trial, little Jovi managed 4 passes out of 6 runs!! Finally got our first agility passes (we will always one fault wonders :p), we got two novice agility passes, one excellent jumping and a novice gamblers pass. Our other two runs were one faulters (as usual ), one I tried rear crossing her on the tunnel way too late and she saw me back up and change sides while she was half in the tunnel instead of doing it on the ground before hand. The other some person had dropped food right at the start line and the little fatty got up to find it and eat it, which took her away from the first jump, so when I called her name to get her attention she came but didn't see the first jump so got a refusal Bit of a bugger as she did the rest of the run perfect even though there were a few parts I thought we may go wrong. That wasn't all though, the little bugger managed to snag a 1st and 2nd place out of more than 40 dogs! Here I was thinking she was going slow and we would barely make time and she got in easily. She still isn't running like she normally does so I didn't expect anything so I was thrilled with her just getting passes! I've attached a picture of the now fast asleep girl with her bounty from today :D

Flyball brag for us. 2 day comp at the Dandenong show, my girls team won their division. This makes it 5 wins from 6 comps, not bad for a new dog! Biggest brag though is we/I finally managed at 0.000 start!! I've only ever started her a few times and it was in the first race so no idea how I done that.....I've tried for so long with my boy but always missed out by the smallest margin! Silly bugger ended up running so many though by the end of it, I usually start her at 28 feet but ended up having to move back to about 33 feet and still let her go at the same time and did so many false starts. Guess she just wanted to get to the line quicker! Her best time was 5.2 (which she got in the last race on the second day in hot weather) and made her, being the height dog the quickest dog in the team :D So not a bad weekend from our end either :D Find it kinda amusing, my girl apparantly has shrunk, she has gone from an 11inch height dog to 10 inch....need to organise her height card now.

Gundogs BIG - American Cocker RuIG - Lagotto (same one that won BIS at the gundog show, what a weekend!) Sorry didn't see any other results, it was thundering and raining so was packing up!
-
Received my numbers too :) Very thankful I won't have to line up!
-
I don't have mine either, and a few people I spoke to at the Gundog show haven't received theirs.....my cheque has been cashed so we are entered so if I haven't received my numbers Monday looks like I will be joining what looks to be a long que to get my numbers.

For Those That Have Used The Suprelorin Implant
Sayreovi replied to OSoSwift's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I am following updates as well :D Darcy's has finally worn completely off (well his behaviour is back to normal).....he got the 6 month one and that was done ohh about 16 months ago!! Just had him go through Jovis' season for the first time and he was a pain in the butt whereas before he was chilled and calmer, it's the only thing I will miss when he was on the implant. :) I am yet to get a sperm count done, but I am wanting to next year and hopefully it's good enough to collect to store at the same time as it would have been 2 years since the implant was put in. -
Flyball - Anyone In Gippsland Area?
Sayreovi replied to LittlePoppet's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
It's interesting finding out if they are left or right pawed :D I have one lefty and two rights, and at the moment have one of each running as the old boy is retired now. Another thing to try (you've probably read about it already ) is sending your dog to a stationary ball and reward for coming straight back and quickly giving up the ball. The stationary part is pretty self explanatory as the ball isn't moving in flyball and some dogs don't get what's so exciting about a ball that hasn't been thrown ;) Quickly giving up the ball, is in case your dog needs to rerun. You want the dog to drop the ball so you can immediately turn him around and getting ready to go again haha Good luck, I hope to see you in future at comps! I am with the Frankston team (though I do live in Pakenham, so not too far from you!) If you have any questions I will (try!) and answer them for you :D -

That's true about the off lead thing but I also think it's because most people assume that and never try. They pick it up fairly quickly if they are confident dogs (some don't like a ball flying at them :p), so I would practice getting them to catch a ball that comes UP at them rather than throwing it from above so the ball comes down. That being said though, the box is trained without a ball initially so they can get their turning right as well as get used to it and then a ball is introduced. Yeah I've seen two doing it usually at Nationals and they don't look as fit as they should be (and are very slow), so would be interesting seeing how fast a fit Sibe runs! -

The only clubs that compete in flyball over this way, are Wonthaggi and Berwick (who is probably closest) There may be clubs that train it but haven't listed themselves as having flyball, so you may just need to call the clubs and ask if no one on here knows :) Hope you find a club as I would love to see a Sibe compete, there are none doing it in Victoria at the moment. They would be an awesome breed to watch doing it :) -
Congrats everyone on their successful weekend!! I have a little brag, Jovi got her AFCH yesterday. She was only 5 points off it after 4 comps and this was our first comp back since April which was a pain  so she got it really quickly! And even though we won 4 out of 6 races and ran clean for nearly the whole day, we didn't manage to maintain her perfect run of coming first in every comp  :p She is such an amazing little dog, very proud of how well she gives her all in everything :)

That's a misconception. Not all foster carers can take on all dogs that are in pounds at any one time. Not all 'rescues' rescue from pounds. Some do just take on surrenders and those from online classifieds. So if some take from online classifieds already why is there are need to post them here where most rescues DO rescue from pounds? Gumtree adds do not belong in the rescue section. If you feel like they should, maybe a poll in that section asking if it's appropriate to list them there is needed?
-
Uhh pretty sure all the dogs in the pounds are actually in danger before the dogs listed on gumtree, those are still not in the pound system. If rescues have such a lack of dogs to rescue from pounds (a dream!) I am sure they would look themselves on Gumtree!

I feel exactly the same way. Perhaps we should lead by example and post actual dog related stuff in general when we have questions pop into our heads? :p Not sure if it would annoy the breeders in there (who doesn't like being told their puppies are gorgeous!?), but it wasn't always seperated so they had to deal with it before and I don't recall any complaints. If breeders only wanted breeders responses they usually said so in the topic title and most abided by it. I think the pros always used to out weigh the negatives. I learnt tonnes (had a few flamings!!) and stuck around because of all the knowledge but so many good people have left now or rarely post.

She is stunning! I adore Dingoes and one day when I have a suitable environment, I hope to get one. Would love to see updated photos of her

Agree 100% I read general but very rarely post as most are whining type topics with people not even taking advice, it's very annoying. Personally I don't like how the breeders have been sectioned off in their own little area because a few non-breeders made them decide to close ranks. Alot of knowledge and learning was lost that way but I can understand why. It's sad that the ones that actually financially contribute to this forum by having listings on Dogz can't even express their opinion freely anymore. Bring back the good old days! No more subforums! :)

Sorry to hear that PA!! What about Rally-O? It's more relaxed and you could get rid of the old commands association with obedience (and scary events)

Did I Do Something Wrong In This Situation?
Sayreovi replied to Leelaa17's topic in General Dog Discussion
Definately get rid of the harnesses, you can't really control your dog with them and if they aren't tight enough they are fairly easy for the dog to slip :) Also walk seperately until they are more under control or if you must walk together I like SK's recommendation and get prong collars as they are big strong dogs that need them :) -
Most definately! All mine are very tolerant with young puppies. I have photos of both my boys playing with Jovi when she was younger much like TSD's video of Ziggy and Em. It was interesting today though, my brothers girlfriend brought around their Stafford pup (4 months old I think now) for a play date. I used to take Jovi to their house alot when he was 8-12 weeks of age and she would lay down while he climbed over her, basically let him get away with murder. Today he lost a little of his license as he is getting huge and pushy so was very promtly told off by all three dogs when he over stepped their boundaries whereas before he was allowed to do it. He still has heaps more leeway then an adult dog but it was interesting watching them all interacting and how tolerant some adult dogs can be towards puppies especially seeing as I have a lovely mix of entire male, desexed male who thinks he is entire and an entire bitch.

Wow! Impressive brag! I never really knew what the new track and search entails, it sounds very difficult!

I have two guts and one picky eater. All Tollers and all related, thankfully my picky eater didn't pass that aspect on as his daughter is a guts. Unfortunately the two guts stay at a good weight (and can go over very very easily!) by just the smell of food and the picky eater has a very high metabolism and runs everywhere. I can usually keep him at a good weight if he doesn't miss a day which can happen if he is a little stressed or sick whereas the other two would have to be dead to not eat! The pain in the butt has gone off his food at the moment as my girl is in season so he is looking a bit thinner than I like
