  1. Make sure you've given it plenty of thought and don't be pushed into it or rushed in making a decision like i was. I still don't know if it was the right thing to do.
  2. What a nice thing to do. Let me see what i can come up with for you.
  3. I take my old girl in every 3 months for a check up.
  4. That's not good. Using too much of anything will mask a doggy smell.
  5. VJB do you have any affiliation with the company ? I'm interested in buying and trying something like this product. If it really does work.
  6. Gees he's got some big No wonder he's got them on show.
  7. Nice work. I hope it all works out for all involved and the dogs get a second chance.
  8. She's beautiful. I love the oldie's.
  9. Exactly. Good on you for wanting to help.
  10. I'm sure that amount could be raised if anyone was serious.
  11. What would be the likely transport cost ?
  12. I spent hundreds on all sorts of expensive, known brand dog toys, including kongs and the dogs didn't give any a second look. You can't beat the good old $2 tennis ball from Coles. Even if it does pop after 1 bite.
  13. About 95% of people told me to have my dog PTS a couple years ago. That was never an option. I couldn't live with myself if i did that and that would be taking the easy option. I don't know if my dog was an extreme case. I don't think so. Just the result from having a moron owner before i got him. I guess you can't compare dogs. Every case is different and has different solutions.
  14. Don't know about the dog in question in this thread, but too many people seem to take the easy option with a "problem" dog. I was talking to a guy on a job site last week and he had his dobe PTS because the family didn't have time for it and also he claims the dog was so big and clumsy it was accidently knocking over his kids. I don't know how a vet can PTS a dog just because the owner can't look after it. IHe also claimed it was too difficult to walk the dog and didn't respond to any training. I've worked with this guy on and off for a good few years now, but i've lost a bit of respect for him.
  15. Almost a cheeky grin kinda look on his face in that photo above. Sure looks like he was a model in the Rotty world. R.I.P. They never stay with us long enough .
  16. That's a fair statement. I think that does happen. I hope the dog finds a suitable home.
  17. Which Crewman ? V8 or V6 ?.......Which Hilux, Turbo Diesel or V6 ?? 4x4 or 2wd ? Hilux is one of the best, if not the best, in holding it's value. When it's time to sell, you'll be glad you bought the Hilux. Crewman isn''t good at resale. When you're talking tray space, a dual cab hilux and the Crewman both have a small tray. If you go TD , you wll get far more kms/per L compared to the Crewman. On the plus side for the Crewman, it will drive and feel more like a car compared to the Hilux. It will also have more get up and go. Reliabiity- Hilux again, but a 2005 + Crewman should be reliable ( one would hope ) There's plenty of for and against for both.
  18. No doubt he won't rceive a jail term, but if he does, i wonder how big he'll be inside.
  19. My issue with them started from day one. It took three attempts just to get my male dog insured. Through the mail once and twice over the phone. Both dogs details were filled out on the same form and sent in the same envelope. Somehow one dogs details were received, but somehow my other dogs details, on the SAME form, were nowhere to be found. It then took another two attempts over the phone, via different people, to get him insured. The claim that was knocked back involved the same as your dog, removal of lumps.
  20. To be totally honest with you PD, i've found BowWow the most useless, hopeless and difficult people to deal with. I'm happy you've had success with them.
  21. My dogs insurance is through Bow Wow. i'm not happy with them at all. Useless twits couldn't organise a R**T in a brothel. It was a drama just to get my two dogs insured and not have the paperwork go missing. It took 3 attempts to get one dog insured. First claim was knocked back because they believe it was related to a previous procedure. I only went through them because i had no other choice with my dogs age. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
  22. Yes, they allow the dog inside. I have heard them calling him away from the fence. The pup is still curious, so is my dog. They have yet to do anything to the fence. My yard is on a slope. My fence is built on the top of a block retaining wall. So the pup has to climb onto the top of the block wall first, or at least stand up on it's rear feet. The gap is where the ground has either been dug a little, or the rain has eroded enough away to allow the puppy to get it's leg under. It's physically impossible for my dog, a large Rottweiler, to get under the fence.
