Pancreatitis - Low Fat Cooking
Garry replied to Vegas Pomeranian's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Your dogs spleen is not functioning properly causing the pancreas problem. No raw food, cold food, tin food, biscuits or dry food. Meat & veg cooked use iron rich meat, porridge is good, the food is to be warm & in this pre digested form to relieve stress on the spleen. Garry -
Sudden Swellling In Left Elbow Only
Garry replied to openarms's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Just found your post & wondering if the dog is now ok, as the pics showed some bruising & fluid? Garry -
That's why i wont desex my dogs because too many excuses are made as not many people want to take responsibilty or the care.

It sounds likely that the diet will fix your problem. Don't combine the wrong foods, give meat only for one meal & then grains & fruit another but combine the vegetables either with the meat or the grains & fruit. Diet given in small amounts 2 to 3 a day, 50% complex carbohydrates, 25% chopped raw green vegies, 25% protein, combos grains & vegies, grains & fruit, protein & vegies. Garry

Age You First Had Your Dog Checked - Dog Chiro Or Similar
Garry replied to ness's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I only really like to start checking over puppies From 12 weeks of age unless something is obvious, recently had a boxer pup 12 weeks old to check & jumped around while i was checking it & thought just puppy play but after i adjusted its back the pup then stood like a show dog & i then was able to check it out fully, so sometimes the problem is not obvious, Garry -
Hyperextension Of Carpal Joint
Garry replied to dressagegirl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes it was. Sadly the outcome has been poor and she remains lame and in pain. Good luck with your boy, you have all my best wishes. l feel that Charles is a bit critical of the accupunturist, but in saying that there is good & not so good people doing this. Having a top surgeon operate on my arm & putting a plate in that nearly severed the nerve (couldn't open my fist) i know that after removing the plate all the physio etc never changed a thing until i had accupunture, but after the first treatment i felt a difference in the hand. Three visits later with a little more movement in the hand i was told it was now ok. The little movement then progressed to FULL use of my hand. No coming back for more money etc the job was done in 4 visits. Also today started treating a dog with hyperextension of the cruciate ligament, & by the way i'm not an accupunturist. -
Hyperextension Of Carpal Joint
Garry replied to dressagegirl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Good luck with the acupunture & the bandage. l wonder if the acupunturist will use an injection of pentosan 100 into the joint also, really good for tendons & joints, regards Garry -

Balance the acids in the dog by feeding a tomato in the diet for a while, it works Garry

To find the injury you must compare left to the right, if it limps its from the wrist down, if lame from the wrist up, really check the toes, but i think the damage is in a sesamoid, Garry

The dog can run ok! yes? Slow or fast canter? Cruciate may be a bit too tight or some cartilage damage, even check for a different injury (small) inthat leg, eg toes or pad, regards Garry

If the thyroid is ok,& i think it is, ask the vet to give the dog 2ml of trivetrin,by intrevine method, its amild antibiotic but is very, very effective & should work, Garry

Generally just wash the dogs in any proven soap or shampoo, sray areas where dogs sleep or lay about & same to the bedding. i apply 1ml of confidor (concentrate insecticide, from bunnings) between the shoulders, my dogs are Dobes. Also you must wait about 2 days after washing to apply the concentrate as this allows the dogs oils return to the coat & this is what makes the product work over the entire dog, regards Garry
