The pick pup in my 1st pug litter was a black boy with a small amount of white on his chest - was only small and I really though it would have disappeared but one year on it is bigger than I expected. He has a wonderful life as a pet. From this: to this: not the best ears - but the white patch is still there. eta: looking at the pics all together again it is not that bad but I would have preferred no white at all.

Hardly the same thing and can not be compared to showing a dog. There are a hell of a lot of dogs who ended their show careers early due to emergency spaying - I bet those owners were devastated when they could no longer show their bitch and were honest enough to suck it up - I don't see why some think they are above everyone else and don't follow the same rules. But makes me wonder if they turn a blind eye to one rule - how many others do they think do not apply to them either - and still like to think they are above everyone else...
-
Well said. It isn't about whether it is right or wrong, or what each of us think about it - it flaunts the rules. And members sign off on those rules when they join, and as Bokezu so rightly points out, the people doing this are cheats. It is not fair to entire dogs, particularly coated ones. Nothing will ever happen if no complaints are lodged. And NOTHING happens when you do - so don't waste your money!!!
-
Don't waste your time, energy or money it is not worth it when they only need a letter from their vet to save their arse - no idea why a vet would risk their reputation but you would be surprised those who do...no difference for surgically altering tails and ears...they are cheating and don't give a crap about it... A lot of people will already know any way..

I would get it removed asap or it will affect the placement of the adult teeth.

Please - Please - keep this pup on lead. He is much too young and inexperienced to be allowed off lead or he WILL be a dead dog. A daughters 17 yo friend was walking their beautiful 8 month old Border Collie pup last week - only had him for 2 weeks. He chased a car and she lost her grip (obviously not a good grip) and let him go - he was dead within seconds. It doesn't take much and happens very quickly.

Clover - she is in SE Vic, near KCC Park - nice trailer and if I had the $ it would be parked in my yard by now. Hope it is sold soon so I don't keep drooling over it Yes Clover in Cranbourne, hey Andisa it's still for sale!!! I suppose it can't hurt to have a look - any chance you will be at KCC Park tomorrow? Timing sucks though.

Sharon, just fill the papers out and send them on since you have agreed to a puppy instead of a stud fee - was that with both litters or just one? I have only had 4 litters and the 1st was paid and paperwork was done after the mating, no problems. The others were with friends dogs so we did the paperwork after they were born because the stud owners came to see the pups anyway and it suited us. Pmt was made at time of mating. I would not take a pup as stud fee incase there are problems - small litter or not what you want. Better to take the stud fee and buy back a pup at the stud price or agreed puppy price. If there is not a pup there that you like you are not out of pocket or feel obligated to take a puppy. Good luck - hope it all works out for you.

Urgent - Council Closing Pets Haven - Victoria
Andisa replied to Annie99's topic in General Dog Discussion
I can understand how easy it would be to go over the council permit numbers but that is seriously over the limit - it was just a matter of time before they pissed the council off to close them down. -
me too :D

Whats The Best Gossip You Heard About Yourself Or Your Dogs?
Andisa replied to MonElite's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh yes - some people are just plain nasty. -
I would be taking the pup to one of the greyhound muscle men posted above, puppies can be hard on themselves while playing. Mine get manipulated as young as 8 weeks and every 2-4 weeks if necessary. My pug baby was a little roached when she came here and a quick trip to the muscle man has made all the difference. Just rough puppy play is enough to put their little bodies out. Good luck with your puppy - where are the pics

I bought an Oztrail Compact due to price, size and weight. It has only been set it up twice and I am happy with it. First time was for a weekend and left it set up over night - covered and lowered - pegged with stronger pegs than what came with it and the ropes supplied. I also bought heavy ropes but have not needed them yet. Last weekend was at KCC Park, it was hot so I bought a silver shade - the difference it made was wonderful. We had 2 chairs, 2 trolleys and a puppy pen set up as well as all our stuff - we had enough room but I am getting another compact so we can be more comfortable. I have seen some of the big expensive gazebos break in the wind as well as some of the cheaper ones. I was told as long as I use heavier pegs and make sure it is tied down securely it will be ok. If it is too windy we will take my friends Altegra instead. I don't have my wagon anymore and had to make sure that what I buy fits in the boot of a Commodore that also has a gas tank in it.

when someone really expected to win and comes out of the ring snapping that the judge has no idea on type or movement - then picks the crap out of the dog that won........nasty.... oh and when packing up to find that someone allowed their dog to piss on my things...

Don't worry about it. The pet shop owner was rude and I asked her if she was or her family / friends who were supplying the shop with puppies since she held such high regards to BYB'ers - pity she didn't get the chance to answer it....oops - this thread will most likely be removed now.

When I filled out the papers for Hamish 2 yrs ago - I wrote " Against The Odds" - I meant to write "Against All Odds" - they said it has already been accepted so could not be changed. On 3 occasions I have tried to have litter registrations done the same day and been knocked back - last time was only a few months ago with just ONE pup to be registered I asked to have it done on the day and pay the extra - BUT I was told it was the cost of limited rego PLUS the EXTRA $30.....I told her that is not what I was told so said no thanks I will wait -it only took one week anyway. Was not the usual lady who is always in the office. With my first litter, one pup was not well and when I was registering the litter I told them that he may not make it, but was told I had to register him anyway just in case he made it they would not add him later on. As it was he was pts before the papers arrived. When I got the papers I took his in but was told I can keep them (which I have), I thought they wanted to know of any deaths to remove them from their records . Makes it very hard to know what is right or not if they don't tell everyone the same thing. When I had my litters registered I knew a few others who also had the litters registered the day before and after I went in who had it done on the same day - no idea why they refused do it for me... My pug breeder in QLD got her numbers the same day - she called me as soon as she walked out of the office with the numbers so I could start filling out show entries. May be I have not been around long enough for special treatment.

I was told NO - once they are accepted that is it...good luck.

Good luck - if you have time please read through this site, it has been a great help to me. http://leerburg.com/bottlefeeding.htm

If it bothers you then have it repaired while being desexed. As a groomer I see many dogs with umbilical hernias, they can vary in size but most dogs don't seem to have any issues with them. My little Maltese had one and it never bothered him, he died ~16yo (he came to us around 8yo). Many years ago one of my fillies was born with an umbilical hernia - it was large enough to fit 4 fingers and was really awful to look at - vet told us if it never went by 12 mths then he would fix it - luckily it did go away and she died ~ 30 yo. Might be worth while making a few enquiries and see what other vets will charge to do it at the same time as desex. I had a Rottie bitch spayed about 18 mths ago and she also had a large scar/lump removed at the same time - it only cost me an extra $40.

got mine too.

Sway has them and most supermarkets still stock them too - look at the jelly /custards / puddings section. I also have plenty if you have trouble finding it, will send it if you need it.

In my last litter I only got one survivor, she is now 6 weeks old....and I googled Fading Puppy Syndrome....and found a site and it explained exactly what was happening to my puppy, same as your puppy. It reccommended Karo Syrup dropped straight on their tongue...and I happened to have bought some from Kerry at Whelping supplies because of Lisa aka Andisa re Puppy milk recipe. So that gave her energy for inbetween feeds. What was the site?? Sharon - the Leerburg site is fantastic, I am so glad that you too have had success with it. I credit the Leerburg method for saving Maverick and will be feeding their formula to all pups and lactating bitches from now on. I hope that Troy will pin the site for future use because it has so much excellent information. BB - this one http://leerburg.com/bottlefeeding.htm
