I have a 2 berth and would dearly love a 4 - as suggested wonder around the shows and point out to him the advantages of having extra space and it will keep the car cleaner.

You only need the one prefix but as said you can chose more if you want - but personally I find it easier having only one. Just send in your forms and all will be fine.

I am sure any horse float manufactures would be happy to make a trailer up to suit dogs. I had a trailer made up when I was mobile grooming - it was an Alpaca float but longer and taller - smaller and lighter weight than a horse float, would have suited ponies up to 13hh. Was a great trailer, I would love to get one made up for the dogs - well worth getting quotes. Mine was fantastic to tow, so much better than the little dog trailer that I have now - much prefer a tandem.

I thought it was a great weekend - even though we got dumped both days. Glad I went, wasn't sure if I was going to since I was on my own, my friend did come on Sunday so that was better, her boy won his class. Had a flat tyre on the way home Sat and was lucky to make it to a servo before any dramas - however I wasn't so lucky on Sunday - had a blow out on the other rear tyre and had to get towed home. Hubby got a mouthful from me, for some reason part of the jack was missing so we could not change it on the spot. Two new tyres fitted now so fingers crossed I won't have another flat for a friggen long time now. So even with the added dramas coming home - I had a wonderful weekend.

Hey I do it all the time so I know you will be fine. You will be fine Thanks Hope so - just filled the car up with crap everything that I need - so if I hear the alarm nice and early then we (Charli and I) will go - if not, well I have to go Sunday.

Got my numbers yesterday and today but my traveling/show companion is not going now - hmm not sure if I want to go it alone.

A friends client was fined last year for having 2 small dogs unrestrained in the car while she was driving. It cost her 3 demerit points and $500 for each dog. This was in the City of Casey, Vic.

Hey - no problems, I appreciate the effort that many go through to make their dogs stand out on the day - and it shows. Some handlers make it look very easy, they all started out as beginners too. My girl has done ok, she has not been shown much, 7 baby puppy bitch wins and a Reserve Challenge at only 6 mths old, I'm happy with that. She has gone though a weird and not so wonderful growth period and was not at her best for quite a while. I know her faults and what I don't like about her, but over all she is a very nice little bitch, I just wish she would finish maturing so I know what she will end up like. She is entered this weekend and for the next couple of weekends. We will keep going just for the days out, anything that might come our way will be a bonus. I had the best day last weekend, took 2 dogs with me - none entered but had a much better time. Not only because there was no pressure at all but I was able to watch other breeds, I also learnt that my eye sight is worse than I thought. When I got closer I knew the face of one of the judges - I could have placed bets who would win - sure enough.. If I set up and decide to scratch on the day it wouldn't bother me, I will still enjoy my day(s) out.

Here is the link to Leerburg - I have had much success with this formula including raising my singleton pug by hand last year. Good luck.

Will have to look out for them in my area - I was thinking about a second oztrail Compact but the Pavillion would be better at that price..

yes totally agree will separating starting from this week. chihuahuas dont' take too kindly to being left on their own when pups, they like company. this little guy is ruling the roost it is really hard not to spoil him he is so very cute, hency why he will be named "toy boy".... toy dog - my pug boy from the single litter was a very spoilt little bugger, being a singleton I suppose it is bound to happen . He took to food pretty well, he was hand raised so didn't have the luxury of having mum on tap keeping him full (em c section and no milk). Her first litter of 5 were lucky and she had too much milk so I did as Sharon said above - removed mum so they were looking for food. They were lazy little buggers and would have been around 5 1/2 - 6 weeks old before they showed any real interest in fending for themselves but once they did, they were very happy babies. I find the Rotties are looking for food and bones from around 3 - 4 weeks old but the puggies are not in any hurry if mum has plenty.

When you are told by someone who's dog just won "unfortunately it was political today" is proof that face judging does happen. Whilst his little girl is young and very nice, in his own words she did not deserve to beat the much nicer older bitch who is well on her way (with limited showing) to her title. Since he is also a judge I have no reason to doubt his comment. I have also been told that my young pug bitch would be titled easily if someone else was showing her. I am still fairly new to it and will admit I should do more with her, no doubt at all if she was in more experienced hands she would do better. But being told by several others "she would be titled fast with me" or "If she was in (another state) she would be easily titled". I have lost interest in showing her atm, not entered this w/e but will be going just the same. Have filled in a few more entries but not many. I might wait until she has matured a bit more and try again. I have even thought of offering her back to her breeder to be titled since I am often told if she was in the right hands she would do well. Perhaps she would be better off. A friend has a stunning bitch and is doing quite well with her, she is certainly no beginner to showing, some of the dogs that win over her leaves many on the side line with raised eyebrows. Oh and while I am having a whinge - why do some judges still put up dogs who are manky or lame - I bet if I was holding their leads they would not be.. It's not always sour grapes - sometimes it is just too obvious...

I feed my Rotties (girls) 1 patty a day - the boy will get 2 and the rest in bones or what ever else I have on hand. The pugs have 1/2 and a wing. Once you get everything you need and in a routine making your own barf is pretty easy. You will even enjoy it.

Yes - I did that with a bitch from my last litter, we have since decided not to breed with her. eta: I put all my pups on limited unless I am keeping them or they are going to a show or breeder home that I know. Just because a pup has a lovely pedigree from stunning parents does not guarantee that it will be breed worthy. Not all matings go as planned. There is no shame for placing pups on limited registration - I just wish more people did.

Sorry Lyndsay - forgot I posted in here, have sent you a pm.

How To Keep A Dogs Coat Soft And Shiny
Andisa replied to whitka's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I like shiny coats too - not bad for a 6 yo bitch. I credit raw feeding for this girls condition - she was actually dirty but can't really tell. -
I know the look her dog had - my dear old girl gave me the same look under pretty much the same situation that you described - 6 yrs ago last month and the look she had on her face still brings me to tears today. When they are so sick their veins can be flat and very hard to find. I did not cope very well with the 2 vets that took what seemed like 15 - 20 mins before they had successfully put Jasmine to sleep. I felt they butchered her while trying to find a vein, it was bloody awful and my biggest lesson I learned that day was to have my pets pts before they are that sick. However it was the drugs that she was on that ended her life sooner - a bad reaction to the drugs is what I was told... I have put a few animals down now, from rabbits to a horse - while it is the kindest thing to do for them - it is the hardest thing for the owners especially when it doesn't go smoothly, it rips your heart out. I feel very sorry for your friend - the look on her dogs face will always stay with her.. as Jasmine has with me...

Because right now they don't have infinite time, space or funds. Could you fit a never ending supply of dogs in your house? Leelaa - perhaps you need to come in to the real world - you have been in laalaa land for too long... Reality is there is not enough space and funds for housing unwanted animals for the rest of their lives - who do you expect to have this responsibility? Do you really think all the unwanted animals are going to live in harmony together? Real world sweetheart...it's just not possible... How rude is your post. Seriously! In the real world, babies die and people starve to death. In the real world women get raped and children are forced into prostitution. In the real world everyone dies. But that doesn't mean everyone has to or wants to say "this is reality and I must accept it". Leelaa may not share your thoughts on euthansia or on practising veterinary science on animals that are alive, but she certainly sounds to me that she understands it happens and it is reality. I have been called worse Anne - seriously - no one likes the idea of killing animals but we must be realistic here. As you know there are thousands of animals who are simply not wanted, until there is a better solution to the masses of unwanted pets then this practice will stay in place. Anyone who tries to house unwanted animals on their own are called animal hoarders - many start out with good intentions but soon end up well over their heads. The real world sucks big time - never said it didn't.. Your post was condescending and rude. Telling someone they have been in 'laalaa land' for too long and using terms such as sweetheart are not part of the debate. Wise up and learn the word "apology". - gee and I thought I was being nice...a little sarcastic perhaps, however I don't feel the need for an apology for what I have written.

Chronic Unknown Skin Condition - Desperate
Andisa replied to pixandpug's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Contact http://www.pugrescue.org.au/ they have dealt with all sorts of issues and would be a wealth of information. Another vote for Calendula Tea, I am treating a girl with skin issues at the moment and this has been very soothing for her. I have a spare bag if your unable to find it locally. Good luck. -
Yes - my 2 1/2 Rottie bitch (maiden) had an impressive phantom, she not only gained a little weight, dug a bloody great hole under my grooming shed and she sounded like she was going through labor. I called a friend and she said if she didn't know better she would have thought we were in the middle of whelping. The poor bugger was looking everywhere for her imaginary puppies, so much so that I searched the yard and under the shed. I toileted her on lead or she would have stayed under the shed, she gathered all sorts of toys - some I had not seen for a very long time and was "mothering" them, so they were removed. I have her brother also but they are only together when I am with them so there was no hope in hell they had a chance of mating. All my girls have phantoms but that was the worst one by far - and they all produce milk. When I had a litter of Pugs Piper (mother of the above) had milk for 5 weeks hoping to feed the pug pups. Just remove all toys, don't give them a reason to stay clucky and get on with life - they do get over it.
