  1. Which gazette is it in??? The gazettes still are not available on the DogsNSW site.
  2. Thanks Heaps Ceilidh!!!! I think that is all I need...........I will give the secretary a call and see if there is camping on the grounds!
  3. Allerzeit.....its in Feb sometime!!!
  4. Has anyone got the details for the Henty Show? Thanks in advance!!!!
  5. Thanks Korella.............we will be camping for sure! Do I need to put a note in with entries or call the secretary????
  6. Will camping be permitted on the ground?
  7. My advantage trailer doesn't leak at all........... My old tricky trailer with the shark grill on the doors used to leak even though the grills are facing down.......they leaked a LOT, and it was nothing to get somewhere and find all the dog beds covered in muddy road water. I wouldn't get a trailer with a lot of shark grill again.........I have found with the vents and the whirlies that the Advantage is cool and having taken a ride inside it, there is plenty of air flow.
  8. From what i can see of the measurements they wouldn't fit end to end (but that is just a guess), but would easily fit both in one door and I mean easily!!!!
  9. Very sadly, Sharden is no longer in business Leanne!!!! I too have an Advantage! A 6 berth and I love it, the dogs love it......and I reckon the number of people I have shown around it at dog shows I have likely sold quite a few more. I did the whole ring around as well as looking around at quality, durability and who was going to make me exactly what I wanted............and the base model of the Advantage was comparable in price to the base model Toledo (which would have been my 2nd choice) and a bit more than the Norking (my third choice) and then it is just a matter of what additions and upgrades that you add that changes the price.... however.......the decision came when....... On going to the Adavantage factory I was priveldged to see a Advantage dog trailer that had been rear-ended. I know I know, your worst nightmare to have another car plow into the back of your trailer. The back of the trailer was badly damaged, however on inspection the bays inside were completely untouched except for a tiny dint about the size of a 10 cent piece in one of them.......the report was the dogs were completely unhurt. Peter from Advantage explained about the crumple zone in the back and that was it........I was sold. Yes, the budget is important when buying a dog trailer but to me, the safety of my dogs and the peace of mind that they are secure and safe is worth paying for..... . Other factors that made the decision a complete NO BRAINER when deciding to get an Advantage dog trailer was...... a) local made......supporting a small Victorian company is important to me b) the guys are great and encouraged me to 'drop by' any time to see the production in process (again it takes honest workmanship to have that kind of offer) And I did drop by regularily and unannounced and were always welcomed and given a run down of where they were at and what they had done. c) I could make any alteration that I wanted and they designed it just for me....... d) The doors......triple latching doors (so the latch is not just in the middle, but at the top and bottom too) and when you have large dogs that like to bounce on the doors they cannot warp or twist as they are tightly held at two extra points. I have seen some trailers that bow out at the top of the doors due to the dogs banging on them. The inside grill doors are locked with the same security door style mechanism as the outside. e) They also build caravans and so the trailer is built to caravan specifications including the double insulation and chassis. f) In the front wardrobe I can fit.......2 x oztrail deluxe, 4 x XL soft crates, 8 x packets of walls, 2 floor mats, 3 cooktops, 2 fold up tables and 3 tarps......and a few more bits and pieces. I was amazed, I wasn't sure they gazebo would fit in the side doors but I took one down there and tried it out on the one they had there and it fitted fine. Honestly the wardrobe doesn't look that big but it is very decieving....I fit an amazing amount in there!!!! g) the berths are lined with a spray on rubber that is completely washable, each berth has a seperate drain for easy cleaning!!!!!!!! h) I also added a galvanised chassis so you never have to worry about rusting underneath, 100lt water tank underneath with a battery operated water pump, battery for the water pump and also will run the interior lights if the trailer is unhitched, gas bottle ring on the a-frame, half walls so blankets cannot get weaved through the berths and alloy wheels i) And also that its easy to for 2 women to push around when unhitched. Honestly the Advantage dog trailer is the best investment I have ever made......I love it, the dogs love it and I wouldn't be without it. After some other reports I have heard I am so VERY glad I didn't get a Norking or a Toledo. In its first 5 months it has been to 5 interstate trips and even down bad country dirt roads, heavy traffic and has towed like a dream, 110km/h on the highway and you dont even know it was there. I recommend going and having a chat to Peter and John...........

    Honey

Berty I am so sorry for your loss of Honey! Blessings to your girl over the bridge.
  11. MEMO TO A KELPIE Dear Anzac, Just writing you a quick note to catch up with my spak boy. I hope you are having fun over the bridge there must be so much to see and do for a young kelpie boy like yourself. I am really letting you know that I do not want you to worry. I know how much you used to fret when you saw me cry and there have been many tears over the last few days. But do not be upset, the tears will lesson as it gets easier to remember the good times without the pain. And oh my boy do not think for a minute that you have caused them. What I want you to know that each tear is only a millionth of how much I love you and how much I miss you. I wouldn't trade any of that love for the sake of dry eyes. You are worth my tears, never doubt that. So do not worry about your mum, she is getting by, and there are smiles starting to creep in amoung those sad moments when I remember the good times. Like do you remember the time i got home from work and you had decided you didn't like my idea of interior design and had remodelled the entire house to suit yourself. I still do not know how you managed to get the TV, VCR, DVD and surround sound all in the middle of the loungeroom floor in a pile without breaking anything and without being zapped. I was so mad at the time but all I could do was laugh at you sound asleep upside down on the couch after a busy day. See me smile now spak boy....... you can still make me laugh. Also do not worry about Ranger. Your best mate Puppy Q has taken him under her wing and is making every effort to see that he is not sad for a second. I am sure he misses you but you know Ranger, sometimes he is a little too much of a doofus to really know what is going on his thick head. Well I better go let you play. I love you Spak boy, and miss my 3 boys over the bridge to pieces, make sure you let Sarge and Aniken know. Love Mum xoxoxo
  12. Dear Anzac, I am writing you this letter to tell you a few things and since dogs can read over the bridge, of course they can, then this may be easier than telling you when I hold you in my arms one last time today. I am sorry, I have failed you, I didn't protect you from the monster that hurt you and who has scarred you so badly that today I take you to get your wings. Its not your fault Spak, its entirely my fault and I blame myself that it has come to this. But do not be scared my long legged kelpie boy, you will love it over the bridge. Sarg and little bubba Aniken are already waiting for you, won't it be fun to see your best mates again? And guess what? you will not need your collar and lead over the bridge. You could never run free at home because no matter what was in your way there was far too many adventures in the outside world. But now you can run where ever you want without anyone telling you to come back. Enjoy your freedom Spakky, you never had it here! And I hear that since you did such a good job at Kepala, that they are building another even bigger lagoon pool over the bridge just for you to be lifeguard on duty. You were such a good life guard on those DOL kepala days so keep up the good work over the bridge. And maybe, just maybe over the bridge those pesky Rotties may just listen to you for once..... There is nothing to be scared of over the bridge, no one to yell at you or hurt you. There is only love! But never doubt my boy just how much I love you its with this love I give you your wings, the hardest decision I have ever made. It breaks my heart to loose you, we have been through so much and are finally out the other side of the hell we were living.....and it was always you that lay next to me when I was sad or hurt, it was always you with those special kelpie kisses....but Anzac, I cannot let you live your life in fear and it would only be selfishness to keep you here when over the bridge you can be happy and whole again. I will never forget you my long legged kelpie, everyday I will miss you. You did good! So do not be scared when we go to the vet, you are the one going to the fun beautiful place.......I cannot wait for those special kelpie kisses again one day! Love mum P.S I almost forgot, I know I teased you about your ears, but I loved them and it didn't matter to me one bit. P.P.S Tell Sarg and Aniken I miss them, there isn't enough hours in the day to miss my three boys enough.
  13. Don't tempt me......I have never been further north than Canberra and it could be a good excuse!!! But alas I am busy spending all my money on training stuff to keep me going from this event. K9Force......tried my kelpie on a fluffy rabbit (toy of course although not for lack of trying for a real one with the car) on a fishing rod like you suggested. And still no interest. Stupid herding dog. But at ZednQ's place he showed a LOT of almost hysterical interest of a largish wiggly giggly ball. Not squeeking things, not anything else that makes noise but this giggling ball that will not fit in my pocket or in my jacket at training. You don't happen to have orbee's that giggle do you?
  14. I agree too! A scheduled regular event would be fantastic!!!!!
  15. Thanks guys for a wonderful workshop...... I learnt so much and have already been trying it out. I don't think I have yet warmed up enough.......my feet are still iceblocks!
  16. I am having a hard day today with missing you my darling Sarg.....I don't know why today or why the tears don't want to stop.... there are so many times that I think I hear you sigh.......or your tail thumping against something!!! It seems so unfair that I can't just reach out to scratch your ears or rub your belly..... Its been the longest 8 months without you.....and I don't miss you any less today than I did the day you got your wings. I miss you so very much! Just hope that you know that no matter how much fun I am having with the boys at home, I would trade it all for more time with you! Love to you my soul companion......you are never far from my thoughts and always in my heart!!!
  17. thanks harminee........words cannot describe how special it is! just gonna go print it now!
  18. Not sure, been so long since I bought them... Do you then rinse them off with water? sorry should have added that hey!!! Allow the toothpaste to dry and polish with a cloth..........it comes off easy!
  19. Harminee can you make one for me please.......... (and take out the BC if you can) Sargent Major October 1995 to August 2007 Not a day goes by I don't miss.... There just isn't enough tears..... Thanks heaps mate. I don't have any more piccies of him unfortunately...and these aren't clear as I had to scan them from old photos. I would really like to print it out and frame for my mum and one for me.

  21. I am heartbroken over the loss of Asher. Take care of yourself Bella.......and know that you did all you could and that you couldn't have loved him more. He will forever be with you....... Run free Asher....
  22. when cleaning gunky eyes I always use those little sterile tubes of saline........to irrigate the eye rather than risk wiping something else into them.
  23. Who's doin the obedience?!?!?! Me thinks you are having a go at my ferals ;) ...............I know they are wild but they haves fun! Spak dog and fluffy doofus do the 'lack' of obedience on the sunday.....!!!!! No Silly! There is an obedience trial (working dog club of Vic) on the Sat/ Sun - can't remember which, so I thought you had entered Ranger/ Anzac!!!! ;) yeah right!!! as ifs! .......at last obedience training Ranger looked at me stupid when I told him to sit. and spak has decided he has to follow my leg and so gets up to follow me when I return when doing the stay!
  24. not quite sure what you are after but some of the less usual things I feed are...... raw carrot either grated or in chunks (in chunks it is supposed to help clean teeth) raw grated apple (they loooooooooove this)......they dont mind grated pear either yoghurt (just started and they are addicted) egg flip (beat up egg in milk with a tiny dash of honey) they get sardines (with the oil) a few times a week chicken necks/wings/frames etc..... they do tend to love anything made with liver. raw and cooked mince is ok.......
  25. Who's doin the obedience?!?!?! Me thinks you are having a go at my ferals  ...............I know they are wild but they haves fun! Spak dog and fluffy doofus do the 'lack' of obedience on the sunday.....!!!!!
