  1. What a shame. I was so looking forward to seeing some new dogs. Being from QLD and all, but working near Karratha. Oh Well...Thanks
  2. Can anyone from WA confirm shows in Karratha End of July. I have searched but can't find it. When/Where and Start times would be fantastic. Thanks in Advance
  3. I showed a GSP for many years after she lost a front tooth while out in the field being a GunDog.... Never had a judge ask me about it.........
  4. That was my first thought too, But then again because the feet would have to seperate for stone to go under foot????? I just don't know.
  5. Just wondering if Smooth River stones in the Dog Runs will help or hinder, pups and adult dogs, cat like feet. I would hate to lay the stones only to discover all my dogs getting splayed toes. (Show dogs) or will it help keep their feet cat like. What do people think??
  6. Thanks for all the results Can anyone please tell me Puppy in show and Baby in Show. Thanks in Advance
  7. Dallies and Ridgies on First Saturday. (lucky for me, whippies too) Cavs on Tues 10th.
  8. I have had a whippet who needed to have surgury to remove one from his stomach. Fine one day, next day throwing up after eating and walked like he had stomach cramps. Hopefully never again.
  9. I will finally be there with bells on. Dallies Cavs and Whippies. Pointersrule as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
  10. personally i would bring a crate as well. Should you need to go to toilets (remember they are a long walk away) you will need her to be secure. (as they can get under the gates of pens. )
  11. Hi Fran, I think mum and dad have entered with the dallies. You will be fine. PointersRule will be there too so she can give some hints/help if needed. It gets very hectic with public verse exhitibitors this day but it is always fun. Most of us hang out in shed. (except if raining we drag out the gazebos as the roof leaks ) i am finally home the Callide valley weekend end June so i will see you there. Good luck
  12. Can no one help me????? or tell me where they are posted.
  13. i can quite often be heard talking/syching up the dog while running around the ring. Go Casey Go Casey and boy does this work. She shows well without it but with it she has the extra Umph to beat her mum. :D Then when we need to go in for Challenge with her mum in front of her Go Casey Get mum and repeated the whole way round. THis puts her at the end of the lead (controlled) not bad for 8 years old,. (POINTERSRULE can you add this photo of Casey please). Each dog is different and i am more subdued with the whippets and Cavs. But talking constantly works for the Dallies and pointers.
  14. Could anyone please provide any results for the Whippet Champ Show. I couldn't make it due to working in WA now. What a feeble excuse. Thank You
  15. We have had numerous pups that weren't crash hot in our dog trailer. We tried lots of things but someone then recommended HONEY. Simple honey. A finger full in the mouth when leaving. (or in the water if needed) We had to take 12 x 6 week old pups to Brisbane for their hearing tests and it worked wonders.
  16. Lou from Central QLD. "Thats it shows over for you" always a laugh. :D :D
  17. An Update. 1 x whippet is going to spend 12 months with friends (my god good friends ) in Gladstone and 1 x whippet will either end up in Cairns or Townsville. (at this point in time) While my family is VERY upset with our decision for Sam we believe he won't cope in being rehomed. My god the tears. but it is best we believe. Thank you for everyones responces and help in making this very hard decision.
  18. Can life get any worse. My home (for the next 12 mths) for the 2x show whippets has just fallen through as the other part owner is having trouble with his neighbours in the ajourning flat (they share the yard) and is thinking of moving to away as well. God now i have 3 dogs to think about. Just venting sorry.
  19. Again, thank you for all your responses. We have a few days to make the decision. However hard. We will be in WA. Small donger type accomadation. Thanks again.
  20. We will be living in a mining camp. Absolutley nothing else.
  21. He is an English Springer Spaniel
  22. Thanks for the quick replys. As i said NOT moving is not an option. We are working on 12 months to pay off as much of mortgage as possible so then i can come home and have Human kids and my doggy kids again. As much as i absolutely love my doggy kids, my husband and his needs are most important at this time. (We have already been in seperate states for 18 months, it's time to give something back to him) I guess..... no i don't guess i just don't know. Time to think long and hard.
  23. Such a heartbreaking question/reality for most. My situation. 3 dogs at home. 2 x showdogs 1 x retired show dog. The decision has been made to move interstate for min 12 months. No dogs allowed as it is in the mines. The 2 show dogs are in partnership and going to their other owner but the other one has just turned 11. So, how old is too old to be rehomed. He is unable to stay with family as they are already above their limit of dogs as are friends. About Sam. As said he is 11. Almost completely deaf. (Wakes us up most morning sitting in the middle of the back yard scared about nothing barking) Has some small lumps. (not a worry) A little arthritis. Otherwise pretty good. What to do???? (Not moving is not an option) Do i think (quickly) about trying to find a suitable home or ............ the most heartbreaking thing PTS. Help me make the right decision for Sam. :D
  24. We had a lovely ss ute and had a ARB canopy put on. This way i still had my lovely leather seats and comforts and my dogs were also in comfort with single mattresses as beds. We had the windows up both sides with security mesh and were open at all times. We found it great during the winter months but found it still very hot travelling during summer months. Granted we didn't have the whirlybirds on top. These would have helped. The dogs were very secure and could sleep in there at night and i could still fit all my show stuff in. I have since sold the ute but would consider it again with the whirly birds.
