Just to add a bit further, I stop feeding and drinking around 4pm. It took my guys a good month or so but my expectations were very low as this was the first time I used the crate for training. I didn't put a time limit on when they should be crate trained either. I did the midnight dash thing for about a month. I had to really train myself not to give in to those big puppy eyes and that wittle puppy cry. Best wishes and as TB says DON'T give up!

Really, my Bunnings told me it is a regular line, I see them in stock all the time. Maybe its regular stock for QLD.

Also make sure you thoroughly clean the area to get rid of their scent otherwise they will be drawn back to that same spot. I use vinegar and eucalyptus oil to clean and deter my guys.

we got one of those cheap $20 compost mesh enclosures from bunnings (thanx to dol) and set up a pen in the rumpus room for our babies when we dont want them having the run of the house. Perhaps you could get one of these and use it as a sleeping area for puppy that way you can contain where she is and save your home of doggy do. If you dont want puppy doing their business in it you will have to section it off so it is not big enough for her to make a mess as dogs dont like to do their business where they sleep.

I have to say I was very surprised by the two of your comments. It seems to me that you prefer your dog to hump the teddy. I thought it was a strange advice to give. I do agree that all the dogs are different, and some take much more times at some stuff than others. I guess I was really surprised you were giving your example as an OK for doings humping in their spare time. I gave you a chance to explain but didn't find it any better with your second response. I found it very puzzling that you find this behavior normal. It seems that your dog can learn very quickly, mines can too. But when they don't it means I am not clear about what I am teaching them. It happens to me often and therefore I try to take few steps back and try to think "what do they think I am teaching them" rather than "how come they don't get it". It helped me heaps. Good luck. FPS take a chill pill, they were just offering their advice from their point of view and circumstances. Afterall isn't that what this forum is about. Nothing strange bout that. I really don't mean to be nasty but why do people feel the need to challenge every little thing that is posted on here? I am sick of reading crap like this. I just wanna read peoples opinions and advice without all the drama. Stop the judging pleeeeasse and just accept we are all different and have different advice to offer. Back to the topic darl, it really depends if you do or dont want your dog to have this behaviour. I had one of my dogs humping his toys when he was round 12 weeks we didn't read too much into it. He's 8 months now we did nothing to stop it either and he's grown out of it, can't remember the last time he humped his Garfield.

Sorry had to giggle at dog pretending to be a cat Our old Harry had us convinced that he was a cat trapped in a dogs body, he refused to eat his food only ate cat food, use to groom himself like a cat do the licky thingo and rub his body around your legs like a cat...meowoof Hope it all goes well at the vets Cheers

I have purchased my two guys without seeing them beforehand apart from pics via emails and researching the breed lines. I was in the same boat as to which one I wanted, the first pup I got was absolutely gorgeous that I had to have his brother as well. I have a really good relationship with the breeder and her vet. Both parties were really forthcoming with any information I requested. Having looked back I was putting a lot of trust in the breeder and I am so grateful she is honest and trustworthy. Its really hard to pick from the litter even if you are there in person and must say doubly hard when you have to trust someoneelse. Good luck and which ever one you receive Im sure you'll love puppy just the same.

Also try this website for prices on Nutro, Ziwipeak, Eaglepack and other natural foods. You can order online and see what the postage costs as well. If you live in Sydney free delivery. Gives you an idea of pricing compared to your supermarket or premium foods like the Hills and Eukanuba. http://www.naturalpetstore.com.au/

I feed my babies human grade meats, fruit and veges. I avoid wheat because one of my dogs has allergies which have subsided heaps since I dont supplement their diet with the hills or pal kibble. You'll find almost all of the supermarket and premium food has wheat or some sort of filler as their main ingredient. My two love Nutro and Innova (which I can't find anywhere apart from a certain pet store) these have no corn or wheat. I buy bulk bag of Nutro which is good 10+ months supply for my toy poodles and prepack them into smaller packets with my foodsaver. I keep these as my convienient food or when they have sleepover at grandmas. Chicken necks and wings are their all time favourite :D

Thanks Frufru, I was wondering if that was it. Is clipping them short the only way to get through that stage? It was such a shame they both had beautiful long coats but it was ridiculous, I'd spend hours grooming only to find huge mats again hours later. Also they looked as if no-one owned them.

Hi, this is the first time i've owned toy poodles, they're both 7 months old. When can I expect their coat to change and what changes to expect and how long does this phase go for? I had to clip both short cos they were matting somethin shockin. Tia

Hi all I have had the frustrating task of speaking to nearly all the vet's receptionist cos the vet is unavailable who have a) never heard of the titer testing or 3 yearly vaccinations b) misunderstand what I am asking and therefore restate their vaccinations schedule or my favourite c) tell me how irresponsible it would be to not to vaccinate annually....guilt trip... I am in a regional centre in QLD, I am finding it very difficult and frustruating that no-one up here knows what I'm talking about so therefore think I am stupid and ill imformed....hello I get my info from a very reliable source ya know.....dol Anyone who knows of any vets in North Qld Rockhampton to Townsville areas that do titer testing would be appreciated....or slap me now to wake me from dreamin Ciao
