  1. I have two Staffies they are about 18 kg, I feed them 100grams each of Euka a day mixed with 100grams each of mixed and cooked chicken mince, mixed vegetables and rice. Plus they get bones and chicken wings during the week. I put them on this diet after one of my staffies had a cruciate ligament done and they have both lost nearly two kilos each and their poos are much better and I would say their general health is better. I have found the Euka to be great, and I also had the problem of trying to find the right and best food for them and it all becomes really confusing as everyone has different ideas. Euka is more expensive than the supermarket brands but it works out not too bad when i did the sums, plus one of my Staffies was the fussiest eater, but now she licks her bowl clean. Hope this helps.
  2. Did the Vet say anything about absorption of a human product compared to animal product, this is where i am getting confused. Some are saying that the human product does not work as well in a dog as a human. ;)
  3. I have been looking at all the joint care products and am wondering if anyone has one in particular one that they think is the better. I have been using Blackmores Glucosamine capsules and opening and sprinkling on their food, the vet said this was okay. But I am now looking at getting the Glucosamine and Chondroitin as it works better. My dilemma is which one to go for out of. Blackmores, Joint Guard , Pernaease or there are also lots of other makes of Vitamins Brands that you can purchase. There is also quite a price difference as the human ones seem to work out cheaper than the animal ones, but isn't that always the way. But I understand that the human one's are fine to use.
  4. My Staffy had her Cruciate Ligament done about 2 months ago. Her last Vet visit was good said it looked great and he was really pleased, that was about 2 weeks ago. We noticed today that there is a lump on the top of her leg, I think it may be fluid as this happened a couple of weeks after the operation and it just cleared itself. She is still not using her leg a lot and I was wondering if this was the problem, as she is not moving it. The leg does not seem sore at all. Just wondered if anyone has had this problem, or is it another visit to the Vets. This has become a very costly event.
  5. How much of the Chlorophyll do you use and how do you feed it too them, i have never heard of that before, very interesting, amazing what you learn hey. LOL
  6. I feed her Eukanabu mixed with cooked premium mince, rice and mixed vegetables.
  7. My 5 year old staffy has really bad breath, she has had her teeth checked and there isnt a problem. Does anyone have any ideas about how to treat. Also what is the best thing to clean her teeth with, I have a dog toothbrush but am unsure what sort of paste to use.
  8. Doing some research into the best dry food to feed my two staffies who need to lose some weight Vet says Science Diet which is the lowest in calories, but Supercoat (Dr Harry) is heaps cheaper but contains more calories. The same goes for the other dry foods I have looked into. Anyone tried their dogs on the Science diet or any of the others and their dogs lost weight. I would use half my own mix which is mince, mixed vegetables and rice and the other half kibble. It is the Hills RD that the Vet is suggesting
  9. Thankyou too everyone that has answered you have all been a great help and I will now try them .
  10. I have read somewhere in this forum about people giving their dogs sardines. Is this okay as I have never given them to my dogs, but I am sure that they would like them mixed with kibble. I was a bit unsure if they would upset their tummies or not.
  11. I use polaramine also for my Staffy who gets a seasonal itch in her skin, works fine and is a lot cheaper.
