Hi Everyone, My Staffordshire Terrier suffers from anxiety. I took her to the vets and he gave me some Clomav 20mg tablets to try for two weeks. I could not believe the price he charged me $98.10 for 30 Tablets. Upon doing some research and finding that the ingredients were Clomipramine Hydrochloride I found the tablets with the same ingredients online at a chemist for $32.20 for 250tablets. Now I understand that the Vets have to make a profit from the medication they supply but this too me is a absolute rip off. The problem is that I can't go and get the tablets from Chemist with out a prescription. If she needs to stay on these tablets then I can't afford $98.10 a fortnight to keep her on.. Does anyone have a dog with bad anxiety on medication, if so what do you use. Thank you Anne

Has anyone brought products from petfood24/7. I have brought products in the past, but this time I have ordered and as yet not received my order. It was ordered two weeks ago, I have sent two emails with no reply and also tried to ring but it says that the voice box is full. I was interested to know if anyone has had any problems with this site.

We Put a Doggy door in and it was the best thing we ever did. I can go out knowing that my two Staffies can come and go as they want, and never have any accidents inside. I would highly recommend them.

My Second Staffy just had her Cruciate done and it cost me $1700 with a course Cartrophen injections also / your quote for $4000 seems a lot. My other Girl had hers done about 3 yrs ago and that was about $1500.

My Daughter's Vet told her the same thing, she was going to give her two dogs some but he advised not to for the reasons that your friends Vet said.

My Staffy had Cruciate Ligament repaired two years ago, she has been on Joint Guard ever since, just add it to her food and mix through no problems. Really good product, lasts a long time, I also give too my other Staffy.

They are going to the Vets next week, she is feeding them BARF and some dry biscuits. Have looked outside but can't seem to find anything. The reason was that she wanted to know if she could give them something to ease the itch until she goes to her Vet app. I am unsure what treats they get. There seems to be like dandruff or dry skin, flaky and little spots, but that could be a cause of the scratching. She baths them in EPO and has the spray to use in between, but this hasn't really stopped the problem. One of my Staffies gets a allergy itch, but she usually gets this in the warmer weather, I give her a avil tablet and this seems to really help her, thus the question if the Puppies could have something to help.

My Daughter has two Staffy Pups which they both seem to suffer from a allergy rash, with lots of itching, my question is can they be given a antihistimane as in Avil, Polaramine etc , they are three months old.

My Daughters two Staffy Pups are still hardly eating, she has tried nearly everything. One of them looks okay to me but the other looks a bit on the thin side for a puppy. Can they eat small amounts of liver yet? Thought they might like this. Can they eat small amounts of Kangaroo? I can't think what else she can try, everything she put's in front of them they seem to turn up their noses at. They are 12 weeks old, had there injections last week, Vet seems to think they look okay. My Daughter is worried they are not getting enough food, we are unsure what to do. Thanks.

Hi everyone, My Daughter has just got two Staffy Pups, they are now 9 weeks old. The problem is that they don't seem to be eating much. I have two adult Staffies and they used to eat a lot when they were puppies. She has tried lots of different foods, she first gave them what the breeder was feeding which was Eukanuba for puppies, then she tried chicken mince, beef mince, some tinned puppy food, a few vegetables, and they just don't seem to be really interested in much of it. They are eating very small amounts when they do eat. She is giving them three meals a day, but there is usually a lot left over from each meal. Does anyone have any ideas about what else she can try. They seem healthy and happy, sleeping and playing a lot of the time.

Can someone please tell me how much food as in grams per day should you feed your dog. I have two Staffies and am always unsure. I feed them Half cup of pro plan biscuits in morning and at night half cup of biscuits with meat and veg, but I am unsure about the amount they should be getting. They also get bones, chicken wings etc.

I think it's pretty good. I think Artemis has better ingredients. Why do you cook mince ? I cook up mince with mixed vegetables, some stock, and bag it up for a serving each and freeze it. I usually make up enough for about three weeks.

Has anyone here tried Natural Balance Dry Dog Food, I have just been doing some reading up about it and it sounds okay. My dogs have been eating Eukanuba and cooked mince with mixed vegies. I was looking at a change for them and wondered if anyone has tried this product.

I use the EPO shampoo on my Staffy and find it really good, but you need to blow dry the dog to let the oils release. I also use the EPO spray, it smells beautiful. My Staffy has a allergy itch and it seems to have really helped. My other Staffy I use Martha Gardener Wool wash and her coat comes up really shiny and soft.

My girl had the same thing happen about 2 years ago, I gave her a antihistamine tablet and the lumps went, but it was quite bizarre to see her covered in all these lumps, I guessed it was from a bite when I saw her like this. She has never had this happen since, so it was just a one off.

Except for that time he did the lovely big one I stepped in! He gets fish oil on all his meals and sardines/tuna/mackerel four or five times a week! Thanks, I'll try that :D My Staffy had terrible constipation a while back and required being put under at Vets to clean out her bowel. It was caused by a bone. Now I add a couple of teaspoons of bran to her tea, and have not had a problem since.

Would anyone have suggestions about what is the best dry dog food for a dog with a allergy itch. I feed them Eukanuba mixed with cooked mince beef and vegetables. She normally gets a seasonal itch, but it doesn't seem to be improving as it usually does. I wash her in Groomers Evening Primrose oil shampoo, I also have the spray which I use inbetween baths. But I have been wondering if the dry biscuits could have some additive that might be contributing to the problem, and whether there is a better choice for her. So if anyone has some idea's it would be appreciated.

Itchy Staff - From Dying Lawn?
anniejac replied to LittleRock's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
One of my Staffies also suffers with what I call a allergy itch, I bath her in EPO Shampoo and have a EPO spray between bathing. I also give her a Avil tablet sometimes, this is a antihistamine. I find though that her's is seasonal, but with the ground so dry and dusty at the moment is making it worse. But the EPO I have found to be a great help to her. Hope this helps. -
My Staffy gets a seasonal itch every year, I am giving her Avil Tablets daily but would like some suggestions on what to bath her with. Can you use Pinetarsol? Or one of the Ego products. There must be something in the Garden that Triggers it as she only gets it for a couple of months of the year and then she is fine the rest of the time.

I have used Polaramine, Avil, also my Daughter used to give her Great Dane Evening Primrose on a daily basis.

Add some pumpkin to his food, I just steam some in the microwave and add to their food.

Keeping Dog Still After Knee Operation
anniejac replied to PepitoVFR's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My Staffy Bella had a Cruciate Ligament operation about 12 mths ago, I found that we just let her stay in her normal bed (this is a raised dog bed with a big cushion) She would get up when she needed the toilet and for about 2 wks we carried her outside down the couple of steps we have and just brought her back in again when she was done. If your dog is quiet like you say it should not be a problem. I know Bella would have been more distressed if we had put her into another bed. I now give her Joint Guard daily and sometimes she favors her leg but apart from that she is good. -
Hi there everyone, One of my two Staffies has bad breath, I clean her teeth, give her bones, the Vet has cleaned her teeth, he also says there are no gum problems etc. Has anyone got any ideas what I could use to help. She has a good diet, so I am really unsure what is the problem. My other Staffy is fine, no breath problems at all.
