Is the smell coming from their mouth or just around the head area? It could be an ear infection....they stink.

Bingley was such a beautiful and special boy. It is such a shame his wonderful life was cut short, but he will never be forgotten and I am sure if he could he would thank you for the wonderful life you gave him.

You can start teaching puppies the basic commands, such as sit, drop, stay, down, recall, go to bed and so on as soon as you bring them home at around 8 weeks old. Training should only be a few minutes at a time for a young pup. Has your dad considered puppy pre-school or an obedience school? I am pretty sure most puppies have selective hearing Your dad (and everyone else who has contact with the puppy) needs one single word to signify to the puppy that his behaviour is not acceptable (eg. No or Don't) and he needs to be consistent and firm. However, avoid yelling and getting worked up. Avoid saying "No Baz" as you don't want the dog to associate his name with discipline. Also keep in mind dogs can't understand English, so there is no use in giving the pup a lecture. The pup will soon learn that No means No, it just takes patience and consistency. He is at the age when he is teething and a lot of puppies chew everything they can get their mouth on, and that includes you. It is important to provide him with appropriate chew toys and bones, but the pup needs to know what they are for. So next time when he chews on your hand, tell him 'NO' firmly and give him a chew toy straight away. You need to keep on repeating this everytime he chews on your hand or an object you don't want him to rip to shreds. When you see the pup out in the yard playing/chewing with his toys go to him and praise him with lots of pats under the chin and say "good boy" as if you are so so proud. Again, like most things with puppies it will take time and it is important to be consistent, but when your dad sees results he will be pleased I recommend that you take a look at K9s Puppy Development Calender because it is very helpful for new puppy owners :D ---> http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=117592

Hello, Sorry I can't help you out with a yard, hopefully you find a suitable arrangement. How long have you had her for? She is very young, and the youngest puppies should be seperated from their mother and littermates is at 8 weeks old. It is quite possible that she still may be missing the comfort of her littermates, hence her crying. Most puppies usually over come that within a few nights, some puppies can take longer. In the meantime she needs to feel as comfortable and safe as possible. How long do you leave her for everyday? Is it possible to come and check on her once or twice during the day, perhaps for a quick walk in the garden to go to the toilet? Where does she stay during the day and what do you leave her with eg toys, kong? I personally wouldn't be leaving my very young pup unsupervised all day with another persons dogs, no matter how friendly they are. If I was in your situation I would leave her safely at home. How long will it be until you move in to a house with a yard?

Does she get chicken necks and or brisket bones? They help to clean dogs teeth and gives them good breath Also smelly breath can also be related to having a broken tooth or something stuck in the gums etc, so if it continues you might want to get her checked out by the vet just to be on the safe side.

Vaccinations And Chipping
Spot. replied to I_LOVE_MY_TERRIERS's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I paid $15 for Mia's microchip from the AWL and about $60 for her C5 vaccination. The prices of vets to vary, some by only $2 or so and others more like $15-$30. It is worth going to a vet you feel comfortable with. -

You should be entitled to a refund, but you can't blame the breeder for selling you this puppy regardless of how young your children are. Puppies need training and attention, they don't come trained it takes hard work and dedication, if you did not know this it is not the breeders fault. Glad you are returning the pup.

It would depend what kind of financial situation one was in. $11,000 to some people is like $50 to another. I would spend it, if I had it.

Brisbane Puppy Pre-school And Obedience Club
Spot. replied to Spot.'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thanks very much. I will check that out ETA: I have been told not to attend RSPCA training. I wouldn't anyway. Do they have a bad rep? -
In a few weeks time I should be ready for puppy pre-school with a dalmatian in Brisbane (south side). I was just wondering if anyone had recommendations for any good puppy pre-schools and obedience clubs. I have looked into some clubs, but would like to know of some that dolers recommend. Thanks everyone
