  1. This is why I asked about the relationships they have with rescues. They keep saying 'Sharing will save the dog' No it won't as it is rescue only Pick up the phones PR and call a rescue group. Use all of the $$$ you have been given for this dog and donate it to that group if they take the dog. Surely that is what they should be doing and to add they have a person who has been wanting to foster this dog for a couple of weeks now. Clearly they haven't pointed her in the right direction and she said she has received no correspondence back from them about her offer.
  2. I will screen shot the stuff about Venna and anything else I see. Do they have affiliations with any rescues?
  3. I thought so. But I don't know why people aren't connecting the dots. There is confusion on the photo of the dog with comments such as: Earlier on they were directing interested parties to fill out a form to foster or adopt this particular dog named Venna: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dDVQUm1mZnhnekhTN3IzODBLUVhZQVE6MQ#gid=0 Now the dog apparently only has until the weekend otherwise she will be PTS. There is one lady who has been offering to foster the dog for a while, has filled out the forms and it seems she is trying really hard to get this dog to foster. The lady offering to foster said: and PR responded with What exactly are they trying to do?? Do they actually communicate with rescue groups or just use dogs like these to raise $$$? It just seems a bit ridiculous that they have 'saved' so many other dogs but can't help this one who has been impounded now for 85 days. Am I missing something or...
  4. She is still there because she is only to be released to rescue and one hasn't taken her. Is it standard routine for dogs to be held for 34-80 days by the pound? I didn't think it would be. The dog has been there since Oct, is that a pound thing or is PR funding it? Can they pay for the kenneling in a pound, or is it private kennels that they refer to when they ask for donations for kenneling? The comments I was reading on the PR facebook said they were collecting donations for the dog - for what exactly if she is still in the pound with no rescue back up.
  5. Yep, on their facebook page. A few comments seem to have been deleted though. ETA: The questions on their facebook are in relation to the foster caring and them being a rescue group. The other questions are just mine..
  6. I have a few questions about Pound Rounds. When I was at Blacktown last week I noticed a dog that had been impounded since October and I was wondering why they would hold over a dog for so long. This particular dog has been there for 85 days but is available for release to rescue only. They have been collecting money for the dog since at least December, probably longer and there isn't a rescue who has taken her on. They posted this yesterday: So people are donating and there seems to be confusion about why she is still in the pound as PR keep saying she can only go to rescue and she needs a foster carer and some are responding with "Well aren't you a rescue group?" Response from PR: So my question is what have they been doing with the funds and have they really not been able to get one rescue group to help since October? What the heck have they been doing? Does Blacktown let PR pay for kenneling until a home comes along? ETA: I do think it is a possibility that perhaps a rescue has assessed the dog and found that it isn't suitable for rehoming, hence why she is still there. But I don't know for certain... Sorry to hijack I read a couple of old threads on PR and wonder if this is the kind of stuff people were talking about?
  7. I agree! This is one of the reasons Ian is great! He's also what I call an old school vet - starts with the obvious and doesn't test for all and sundry - we call him SuperVet! I reckon he must also know our breed better than any other vet in Sydney due to the number of them he now sees - and also knows a hell of a lot about skin conditions. And the clinic is even more awesome as they support Dane rescue! Totally agree. Ian is fantastic with dogs, he is one of the most honest people I have ever met and the best vet.
  8. Spot.

    Dalmatian

They will get along, but their playing styles are completely different.
  9. How did I miss this? Happy Birthday handsome boy ;)
  10. I love the pic of Lotus with the ball! Once again, awesome pics! Just awesome!
  11. He must have thought Mia was ug Poor Mia
  12. Can you catch the train??? It takes 30 mins to get from Parramatta to Central vs. 1+hr via car.
  13. I agree. Good job on the video though
  14. I would like you to point out exactly where I said pensioners and stay at home mums are not deserving of a puppy. When you find that imaginary post, do let me know. 100% agree.
  15. It was just an honest question. If you don't sell to people who work, then who is getting your puppies? From your post I am going to assume stay-at-home mums or retired people or people on some sort of pension. Thanks for answering the question though......
  16. I am also interested in that answer. A lot of rescues also won't give dogs to people who work full time So who do they give dogs to??? I will be getting a new puppy in a few weeks and shock horror I work full time. She will be getting the laundry, kitchen and a bathroom to herself during the day and can sleep in with me and my other dog at night. I always spend my spare time with my pets and all of her needs will be attended to. Everything that needs to be done will be done (just at weird hours of the night). She can join the other dogs outside during the day once she is older.
  17. A NSW spitz person. Perhaps this may interest you: http://sydney.gumtree.com.au/c-Pets-dogs-p...QAdIdZ209414471
  18. People take free dogs and selling them for a profit is a frequent occurrence on gumtree. Good to hear the girl ended up in a good home. Off topic and out of date...this though, was my favourite ad of all... OUR GIRL IS LOOKING FOR A MAN! We have an Alaskan Malemute female whom we adore, but she needs a man!.... We would like a companion/mate for her, so if you have a male Alaskan Malemute, a handsome fellow looking for love & are unable to keep for some reason, we have his new home all ready for him! He must not be desexed however & would prefer either a mature male or at least 1 yr old. We can offer an excellent loving home for the right man!! We know the breed & understand their needs, we are not breeders nor do we intend to be, but do not mind if nature takes it's course [we have had past experience with breeding so know what it entails & are responsible people]. Yeah right....why not just say that you want a dog for breeding
  19. Now Now Horrie.... Seeing as how Spotteh can't even spell her own breed name you can't pay out on a 16 year old who works in a pet shop for not being able too You got into my account and altered that spelling! Didn't you!
  20. They are there. Usually they are from breeders who live a bit further out of town. Grace, they may just be from the same litter.
  21. Dallies aren't generally an "expensive" breed either. Their price ranges from $400-$800, and I have only seen one breeder charge $1000. The average is around $550-$600. This usually includes BAER testing and all the basics vaccs, microchipped etc. It just amazes me that they can sell a dog for $1200 that they themselves think is crossed with a greyhound and try to pass it off as pure. I just wish more people knew that they could go to a registered breeder and get themselves a quality dog for half the price. I felt like going back in there and posting a sign on her glass container saying so... On further discussion, I would say she is crossed with a whippet if she is a cross. She is too small for a greyhound x.
  22. All about the $$$. But $1200 is just They also have Malamutes in there which are clearly crossed with Huskies.
  23. Yesterday we had a byb bring in 6 pups for 1st vaccination. I knew the genders and DOB of the pups, so had made up the vaccination cards prior to her appointment time. When she saw the cards, she said she doesn't want any info on there, so I had to re-write them all. She insisted there was to be no DOB on the cards, no breed, no breeder contact details at all. No doubt she was going to lie about their age too. Was a bit strange though too that not once the whole time she was their did she physically touch one of the pups It is sad isn't it I am not sure how long this dally pup has been there. Even if they did lie about her age, she is still small and weird looking (sorry puppy ) Dallies are rather chunky babies and her nose was so narrow and her head was small, almost like a whippet.
  24. I went and looked at her today. She is VERY small for what they are claiming to be an 11week old dalmatian. She does look skinny because she is so tiny. PP say she is the "runt". The staff member said "oh we think she is crossed with a greyhound..." But I think she is pure. They have apparently had the RSPCA in there already to look at her Either they are lying about her age for whatever reason OR There is medically something wrong with her. <<< I think this. Her price is negotiable $1200 for a dog they think is crossed with a greyhound.
  25. an eleven week old dalmatain. Jeepers. The poor thing will be going insane! *may or may not be going to Westfield Parramatta tomorrow*
