Murray Valley Kennel Club Shows August 5,6 & 7 Update
Pockets replied to jan seary's topic in General Dog Discussion
This bitch made me say WOW when I saw her standing outside of the ring before the breed!! And to watch her move - SIMPLY BREATHTAKING!!! You have got to be so proud of her Thank you both so much, I have not shown her in the all breeds ring for over 12 months, but brought her out for this weekend and on Saturday Champ Show, she was really on her game :)I really had a fun time showing her. I am always proud of her, it was our first BIS, have to admit I had some tears when we won -
PR - I understand your point of view, my main point is not responding to customers who have spent $8,000 on your product that isn't as specified is no way to business

That's all well and good, but when I took mine to the caravan repair place they said "they shouldn't be using these rivets on a dog trailer, there not sealed and will leak" Not to mention I got absolutely no reply to my many emails and phone calls about the trailer and the dodgy repair job... Sorry I would never reccomend a Toledo and would never get one again....
-
I have a Toledo, brought brand new 2 years ago and it leaked the moment I took it out, they used the wrong rivets, caravan company did a dodgy repair with silicon, 2 big lines of it across the roof of my brand new $8,000 trailer, repairs were of course organised by Toledo. It still leaks now in constant rain. I would not reccomend a Toledo, as they didnt even want to know about it when I phoned them, dusted their hands. IMO bad workmanship and bad customer service.....I was told later that Toledo had changed hands, so the people that used to build them, no longer did Cruising Canines is located down Greenborough way I think, there trailers look quite nice and are very reasonable in price and have loads of extras to choose from. Pretty sure they have a website and they are on facebook too Other brands that are good are Trickey Trailers and also the Rangers (although not sure that Ranger is still around, but there trailers were very sound and had good reviews).

I looked even more special Saturday evening when I went sliding in the mud twice in the ring! I was covered from m arm, all the way down my back, my whole leg, wet and covered in mud!!!! my undies were soaked, so uncomfortable!! Sunday I managed another slight fall in the BIS line up, was quite funny and amusing, my poor dog must have been so embarrassed. Yes luckily I had a very helpful friend who I was just throwing jackets at so I could look half respectable for a BIS photo!!!

I am in Werribee and KCC is about a 45 minutes trip for me so would be over an hour for you, are you getting your grounds confused, cause Melton for me is 25 minutes in the opposite direction to KCC Park? How exciting, best you be posting some lovely photos when you have him : -

Oh dear -
Got both Saturdays and Sundays in yesterdays mail I did my entries on ozentries

Its not always the childs fault, everytime there is something about a dog attacking most people go on about how it must have been the owner, the friend, the child......some times dogs bite, there are not nice dogs out there, just lot there are not so nice people
-
Photos looks like a bi-colour GSD to me :)but anyway, if my dogs were in danger and I had a gun, too bad so sad, I protect my own before others Glad he and his dog are ok
-
If you want to board your dog somewhere nice, I would reccomend "Kepala" now that is a "RESORT" for dogs!!!!!!

..

I worked for him for 3 years, as far as boarding goes, the dogs are well looked after, runs are always clean, dogs are execised regularly, well they were when I worked there the dogs are all locked inside at night for warmth and comfort, I do not like elcho park for this reason as they dont lock the dogs in and their dog pens seemed quite cold and dark... As far as training, I have to disagree that he uses negative reinforcement methods, he uses a combination of both, he teaches correct use of a correction chain and also get the dogs encouraged by lots of praise and positive reinforcement I have a dog aggressive dog, I even had a private one on one behaviour lesson with my dog with him (whilst employed) and I learnt lots of valuable information and learnt how to control my dog effectively and for that I am very greatful.... I parted eith my employment not on the best of terms, and can honestly say that he does care about the dogs in his care and is effective with his training techniques, I still use those techniques today and am a much better owner for it

Hopefully the GSD's have a bigger ring than the year I went, was enough of a ring for a Maltese, GSD's couldn't move at all
-
We had a brazilian Judge for the Sydney Royal, I think he did a very good job of judging, his Best in Group line up was lovely for the Group 5 ring Bias, because my GSD was in the line up and got shortlisted. He was lovely and polite too :D

Squeaky Toy In The Ring - Show Update!
Pockets replied to Inevitablue's topic in General Dog Discussion
Belvedere - I think she means she removed the squeeker from the toy, so she will use the squeeker, not the toy -

I agree whatever you use you do need to be courteous of other exhibitors in the ring -

I accept your opinion, however throwing bait around, dropping it in the ring can also distract other competitors aswell when using a sqeeky toy I would expect you would go to town with it! Lol...just a squeak to get the dogs attention, for most toy driven dogs that all that would be needed ETA - I am not speaking from a specialty point of view either, I show all breeds aswell, bait doesn't work for my dogs, squeeky toy a different story...I haven't used a squeeky toy in the ring before, but I would consider trying it -

Another What Breed Do You Think He Is?
Pockets replied to rastus_froggy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I must say well done to you for helping this man what a very kind thing for you to do for him -
Hi Pockets, I know its early days and must be very strange for him and yeah he does seem a right sook already . He's only ever in the crate at night or when I go out which isn't often and he's never in it when we're in, will leave our door open next time though and won't bang on door :D hadn't thought about it scaring him. God I think I should maybe just chill out and enjoy him rather than overthinking everything and trying to analyse everything he does. You'll see we picked Rebus in the end so your more than welcome to use Jura if you get anymore ;) . Thanks Bundy's Mum and Fuzzy82 good advice and I will take it all on board :D Puppies will cry and whine regardless, but he will eventually learn If your going out, you can always leave the radio on aswell for a bit of background noise for him, but I would give him something like a pigs ear to chew when you go out Dont just use the crate when you go out or at night, use it when you are at home too, otherwise he may not like the crate if it always means he is going to be alone Awesome, will keep Jura in the memory bank ;) :D He is gorgeous by the way. Your right, just enjoy him, before you know it he will be a big boy and you will wonder where your baby has gone He will cry, he will have accidents on the carpet, he will eat and chew things you dont want him too....the joy of puppyhood :D
-
Its a GSD they are big sooks... ;) It depends why he was whining in the first place, if he was whining while in his crate, he may have needed to go to the toilet? You need to remember he has just come from a place where he had littermates and company all the time aswell as his mum, and now he is out in the big world on his own, try and see it from his point of view, it can be quite a lonely shock for a puppy... I would try and not lock him in a crate in your room with the door shut as that is isolating him from you and the family, have him crated if you must, but perhaps in a place where he can still see you, so has a little more sense of security and give him something to chew on like a pigs ear or a nice kong toy Banging on the door will only frighten the puppy and he will only learn that being in a crate is not a nice thing, whereas you need to teach him that is a good and secure place for him, so he will enjoy going in there :D
