  1. I do hope you stick around :) I years ago was planning on breeding my unregistered German Shepherds, I was unaware of the ANKC world and had unregistered mentors  I posted on this forum and copped quite an amount of flack....short story I took the advice.... I sort a reputable registered breeder, brought pedigree dogs, have been involved in showing for the last 4.5 years and guided under my mentor have just successfully bred my first litter (current 6weeks old) .... So as much as sometimes the criticism seems harsh, there are some very very knowledgable people on here
  2. Why all the questions the OP has already answered enough.... I remember once being told by yourself that you bred litters from an unregistered cavalier ...so people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones :) ....you also were mating your non ANKC recognized white shepherd.....didn't see anyone flaming you for that and I am sure you couldnt answer most questions on why you were breeding them!?? Now back to your original post. Who did you get her from ?? The breeder or someone else?? Did they sell her because she was not up to scratch?? Is she ANKC registered? What is the heart health of her ancestor? Are any siblings able to be viewed?? Are you able to see the parents??.
  3. I vaccinated my bitch when she was in season before she was mated, Also safe. She was due when she cane into season, I thinks its quite important to make sure a bitch I'd up to date with vaccinations if you plan to breed. The OP has answered every question thrown at her and still some appear to as the OP says "get on their high horse" I have just bred my first litter, I have a mentor that has been involved in the breed for 30 years, but reading a lot of post from many of the same people I really don't think I would ask anything here!! All the best with the litter, I hope you get what you want from the breeding.
  4. Hi guys Am trying to find where I can purchase essiac tea, I know you can online, but was hoping to be able to buy it over the counter somewhere in Melbournes Western Suburbs?? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
  5. Must add, I am all for dogs being inside with the family :) I believe dogs need to be included as part of the family :)
  6. I agree Liz, please know I am not having a go :) I believe that a well adjusted dog should also be content to be outside even while you are home, not all the time, but comfortable enough that they don't bother :) otherwise how do you know they "cope" when you are away? Oh, I fully agree, but it is not the coping when you are away, that causes them angst, they do that fine. It is the being outside when the family is home that they object to. So if the objective is simply to teach your dog/puppy to spend time outside while you are away from the 'den", then "easy peasy". :)
  7. Hence why they need to learn from a young age so they don't find it a negative thing to be away from you when you are home :)
  8. I agree with Husky, regardless of breed a dog needs to learn to entertain themselves and be on their own, afterall most breeds are family oriented and want to be with their pack 24/7 but as Husky says most times this is not practical... You sound like your doing well so far, I hope your training continues to do well :) some photos wouldn't go astray :)
  9. When someone make ridiculous statements encompassing a whole breed instead of individual animals they show trhey know nothing and have not taken it upon themselves to learn or perhaps take on information provided by others breeders, enthusiasts etc........ Many examples have been provided of quality animals and also agreed that excessive hindquarters are not sort nor bred for in the breed, but this information falls on deaf ears... The famous saying "blame the deed not the breed" comes to mind, because this is exactly they sort of statement Angelsun is making....stereotyping the whole breed standard and current "correct" type because of a handful of individual animals...
  10. I also disagree with this comment Angelsun, breeders can pick longcoats long before 6 weeks, I picked mine in my litter at under a week old. Actually Angelsun most breeders can tell which ones are long coat before or by the time pups are two weeks of age and some can tell while pups are still wet.
  11. Angelsun you have yet to reply to my post.... ??? Your information is derived from a few individual animals you have seen god knows how long ago, this does not represent the entire breed. I doubt there is any breed in the Country that you could say are perfect reprentatives of their breed standard, after all the whole reason of breeding is to improve the breed :)
  12. I had a bitch on clavulox while in whelp, from memory she was 4 weeks in and she had no Ill effects :) I was informed by two vets that after the first trimester that it is quite safe :)
  13. So sorry for your loss, much to young Lots of love and hugs to you during the very terrible time Rest In Peace sweet girl you will make that rainbow so much brighter
  14. I always find a spray bottle works best for nipping puppies and doing anything naughty :) with a firm "No" when it stops don't just shove something else in its mouth play a game and reward ;)
  15. I am so sorry for your terrible loss, I cry for you and Maggie and send lots of hugs to you during this sad time. Run free beautiful girl and may you rest easy
  16. My babies are now 4 weeks old, time has flown and they have grown so much. Here are some photos I took on the weekend
  17. Congratulatiions Lappimum and Sohvi xxxxx
  18. I used to run puppy pre-school and I would most certainly never push a puppy into a situation, thats just asking for trouble there is nothing wrong with a dog that sits there and watches, nor would I ever be concerned of their was a pup the first couple of weeks who hid under a chair, as long as I saw the pup making progress and that the owners didnt pander to the puppy and pick it up. I also used to let puppies off in small groups, usually based on size, age etc. if it was a pretty calm group then I would allow all the puppies off lead, however some groups were more boistrous, so the play needed to be controlled so that ALL puppies would enjoy and benefit from the sessions Vet nurses dont have to do any training in canine behaviour to be able to work in a vet, nor do they have to do any such training to run a puppy kinder, unfortunatley many think they must be good cause they are a vet nurse I really hope that you can find another puppy preschool, the good thing for you owning such a small breed is that even if he was 16 weeks many other puppy kinders would let you join in even if their cut off was 16 weeks. goodluck finding another one, as the good ones do benefit your puppy and you
  19. She was looking quite nice when I saw her a while back in Junior or may have been puppy, was at the Albury shows, very nice owners. Glad to see she is doing well
  20. Congratulations Puglvr, glad your girl is ok welcome to the lovely boys, very special little pups indeed, may they grow and prosper for you
  21. I attended multiple shows in Albury last year, and Angelsun I believe you had a couple entered aswell, both my friend and myself show specialty where our dogs do quite well. Our dogs also did well in Albury taking out Best of Breed all 3 days at the April/May shows..Interstingly enough the only one I saw fall over was my other friend when he slipped on the corner I certainly did not see any of mine nor other peoples dogs falling over and I have never seen it in my life. Later in the year we went to Albury again (Internation Judges weekend), this time I brought another of my bitches who is a beautiful example of the breed and well placed in the specialty ring, she took out 3 Best in Groups, 2 of those leading to Best in Show I also know of others who attended Albury late this year and again were awarded Best of Breed and a Runner up Best In Group again a bitch that competes and shows well in the specialty ring. I would be interested to know how you think these dogs are exaggerated/falling over and not correct examples of the breed?
  22. I have such a soft spot for beagles....that tri boy looks stunning all the very very best with him in 2012
  23. Oh Angelsun, so sorry to hear of the loss of the mother aswell Thats just terrible life is so unfair... Sending lots of Prayers and love to you all xxx
  24. Toll do not have such restrictions at this stage, so you can always fly virgin Jet pets and dogtainers utilize both companies so I wouldn't think organizing puppy flights by animal travel companies would be an issue ???
