My little Kinta is now 6 months old, she has just returned home from a little showing holiday in Sydney with her co-owner While in Sydney she was a multi placed sweepies getter, baby in group and multi Best of Breed winner. I knew I missed her, but did not realise how much until I picked her up at the airport yesterday. Snapped this quick shot last night of my very pretty girl Kinta 6months by pockets2013, on Flickr

A Most Disgusting Conversation Overheard
Pockets replied to Christina's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree they may have been joking, I have also told mine I am going to get a better behaved dog and send them off to a new home.... -
I would just like to say a very big thank you to the lovely secretaries out there :) I phoned 3 different show secretaries and asked if they would accept some late entries for an upcoming show and they were all very lovely and said they would. I know the work that goes into processing all the entries and putting the catalogue together would be a great deal :) So THANK YOU you all who put in so much time and effort

Hi guys Recommendations needs for a really good behaviorist in Geelong area if possible. Work friend has just brought new baby home and even though they made changes before baby came home, and the dog still comes inside, they are noticing changes in behavior... Barking and howling at the door, jumping up, he also doesn't like it when you tell him off... Contact details will be passed on. Cheers

Help Please - My Rottie Girl Has Terminal Osteosarcoma
Pockets replied to Noire's topic in Palliative Care Forum
Noire - I can't not express how very sad I feel for you and what you are going through. I know myself Exacly how you feel. I had to put my 2 year old Shepherd girl down in February this year due to Osteosarcoma my heart still aches for her and your story brings back the sad reality I faced I still cry everytime I think of my girl, I want her back so much but we will both see our girls again -

Wow love the lighter coloured Lappies how beautiful xxx

I agree, pick up the dogs Poop with a shovel and go throw it over the fence or place it on his driveway where he will surely see it... My Neighours have late night Saturday parties, makes it much more fun, getting up and pressure washing and playing my music loud on a Sunday morning

May be an idea to approach them about possible solutions to the problem, let them know of your concerns and offer solutions that would benefit you both :) rather than having things get nasty

The smell is enough to keep him away.....you have to double glove when you apply it, apparently its foul smelling that is vomit worthy....you might need to tell your neighbours though, its quite potent...but the smell goes away after a few days (for humans) for dogs its a lot stronger and longer.. http://www.flybusters.co.nz/shop/DIY+Pest+Control/Dog+and+Cat+Repellent/Skunk+Shot+-+Dog+and+Cat+Repellent.html

My friend has issues with Staffies next to her ripping of fence pailings to get to her dogs, she got some "Skunk paste" from the vet, it is hugely vile smelling, even for humans, dogs wont go near it...you smear the paste where you do not want the dogs to go...it worked for both her dogs and the neighbours dogs (even though they were on the other side of the fence) The smell was enough to keep the dogs away from this area. It costs about $30 for the paste and lasts a while...you may have to keep getting it occassionally and re-applying...but worth a try and a little more on the cheaper side :)

Whilst I understand that its not "your problem" to do anything with the fence as there dog is the problem, it is still "your reponsibility" to protect your own dog if you think he is at risk :) If you even think that maybe there is chance this could happen in the future, I would be taking all necessary precautions to protect my dog, including putting in a higher fence, or restricting my dogs access to that area of the yard :)

Vet Practices? Does This Sound Right Or Wrong?
Pockets replied to Partipaws's topic in Breeders Community
I am lucky my vet will be on call for a small fee and will do an emergency c section if required. They give you there mobile number so that you can phone for advice etc. You don't get the money back if you don't require the services but all in all I don't mind paying for the service of an on call vet :) -
Such a lovely boy you have there well done with his career...sounds as though he is well set :)

There are really good hydro therapy places that will be good to help her recovery post op, to help build her muscles and good exercise without to much strain on the leg :)
