Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to get her back, sorry Miss B. Bodies of deceased pets that aren't cremated are buried in a specific area set aside for medical waste. I can understand your regret but you shouldn't. Once your dog had passed away, she was gone and it was just her body that was left. All that she knew was the awesome time she had with you during her life.

I'd say it was pulled from Facebook due to the very distressing images of dog fighting. You might want to put a warning up - I wasn't expecting to see that at all.

Oh come on, as if you all wouldn't want to watch us! You could see how we clean the floors, disinfect cages, desex animals etc, every single week! Maybe if you're really lucky, you'll get to see Lorpis swimming in the pool in Summer :D

Shrinky Dinks!!! They were my absolute favourite thing to get in a box of cereal

What Is Your Favourite Time Of Day With Your Dog/s?
stormie replied to Little Gifts's topic in General Dog Discussion
Bed time would have to be my favourite. Orbit waits for me to get into bed then comes up under the covers and snuggles into me. Couch time is pretty lovely now too cause he's started wanting to lay with his head on my lap. Click training time is pretty fun too - he seems to want to understand so bad and tries his little heart out. We have a lot of laughs learning new things. -
Happy Birthday Atlas!! It was looking at photos of you that made me think Bull Terriers are actually really cool!!

Places To See Driving Between Sydney And Jindabyne
stormie replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
:D :D :D You could try Bimblegumbie in Crackenback as a place to stay - it's pet friendly and they sometimes get snow. Though I contacted them about 3 weeks ago as to whether they had snow for Orbit and they didn't. I ended up driving out towards Mount Selwyn rather than Thredbo and just did the naughty and pulled over on the side of the road for Orbit to have a quick play in the snow. There was plenty of snow on the Snowy Mountains Highway and we didn't even take the turn off towards Mt Selwyn Snow Fields. It was so beautiful too - lots of open space and brumbies galore!!! No other cars around too. There's a town past the Mt Selwyn Snow Fields called Cabrumura - this was where we had planned to go, thinking we might find somewhere to let Orbit off, but we didn't need to. I wonder if you could perhaps find accommodation there? I would guess the town has snow considering where it is. -
Interceptor with Comfortis. Heard a rumour that the company that makes Comfortis is bringing out a new product which is something we don't currently have on the market. Did some research and it appears they make a flea treatment/intestinal worming/heartworm all in one chew, so we're thinking it's going to be this!!! eta I don't find the cost of Comfortis all that different from the price of Advantage??? In fact for us, the smaller one (that goes up to 4.5kg) was a few dollars cheaper than Advantage 4-10kg. You can't really compare it to Advantix because that does fleas, ticks and other bities, so should compare it with Advantage.

Then surely you would know who it is as their email address would be visible???
-
That's a terrible thing to say to someone! But when you get a PM, the username of the person who sent it should be clearly visible, so it should be obvious who sent it to you. That sort of stuff really is not on, so I would send Troy a PM to report this person.

I think it was a bit wrong. That lady had no idea that you had been asked several times and also wasn't to know that you were aware of the risks of taking young pups out who haven't got full immunity. Perhaps she herself didn't know about diseases at one time or another and lost a pup herself and wanted to warn others? Personally I would have thanked her and advised her that the pup was old enough to have had the appropriate vaccines and was therefore safe to be out and about. I get the horse/saddle etc comments almost every day about Orbit. Yes, it's annoying, but the people who are saying them have no idea I've heard them before and really are just being friendly, so I do the little laugh just to humour them and on our separate ways we go!

My Hoover Core Pets has brush attachments to use on dogs. You can also reverse the suction to use it as a blow dryer too. Took a while but Orbit now accepts it, though I'm not sure he's much of a fan

Just Orbit... About $160/month on food (raw) Approx $200/month for his medication (Cyclosporine). I'm lucky I have an awesome boss who let me fore-go a payrise in exchange for his Cyclosporine, so I don't have to come up with the full amount every few months. His food costs me a bit more than most cause he's allergic to all the cheap things like chicken and duck

Oooh a friend recently showed me pics of this breed and I think they are lovely!!! Hadn't heard of them before that. Thanks for sharing!!

Can A Dog's Limb Fall Asleep?
stormie replied to stonecutter's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I've seen Orbit wake up and have a dead arm or leg. One time he was in such a hurry to get up but his leg clearly wasn't working and he had a bit of a stack -

Yay! And Orbit found his Sentinel ball today and decided it wasn't so bad after all and chomped it in half! -
I reckon it looks like a cross - Schnauzer x Poodle
-
Maybe at the least then, have it scanned for a chip, just in case?
-
For sure! But for me, that's where limited and main reg come into play. I've seen some really poor examples of Danes, to the extent where you would think they were crossed with something else. But somehow they've ended up on Main Reg and end up having litters. I don't see this as a good thing.
-
If a breeder is breeding on a large scale, aiming for healthy, quality pups each time and then also carefully selects the home, then I wouldn't be so disapproving of this. If, however, a breeder is breeding on a large scale and the resulting puppies sold on main reg as breeding stock where lesser quality pups are produced, then yes, I disapprove of this. But hey, maybe I'm more sensitive to others on the subject because I'm one of the people who's has to hold some of those as they go off to heaven, because they are so poorly conformed that each step is painful, or because the temperament isn't sound etc etc.
-
Such a hard question. I think that health testing is the number one priority, so if they show but don't health test, then I would personally say zero (I'm talking breeds who have relevant tests) and same obviously if they just don't health test. But at the same time, I would personally rather see a breeder show or take part in other dog sports as well as health test, because I want to see well conformed, sound dogs and health testing alone doesn't guarantee this. So assuming they show and health test, then I would also rather a breeder is breeding for themselves, for their breeding program. So they might get what they want with one litter, but I understand that not every litter produces exactly what you want and so it may take one or two more 'tries'? So I wouldn't mind a breeder who had say 3-4 litters in a year, but if this was a consistent thing, then I guess I'd maybe get a bit suss? Sorry, that probably didn't really help did it

Erny Orbit got one of those just a few weeks ago for a Novartis photo shoot (and oh such a terrible photo LOL ). It's dark blue with similar shapes, but it's quite hard? He's not interested in it at all, so if you like I can take a photo of it for you tomorrow and if you want it I can send it to you? -
Then I just can't imagine it's as dilute as you think, because as I said, it's not physically possible for a dog to be polyuric without being polydipsic - they go hand in hand.
-
Did the Vet say that he had dilute urine? Because he cannot have constantly dilute urine if he's not drinking excess water. If his urine is dilute, then he must have access to another source of water, eg toilet, pool etc. Obviously if he drinks 1litre of his daily 1.5litres in one go, his urine immediately after this will be dilute, but it won't be dilute all the time.
