Can't help but wonder if this has been sensationalised a bit? Vetbond glue is often used for little nicks and cuts. I wonder if the ear was nicked and glue used, but they're using the works 'glued back on' to beat up the story? Ears bleed like a stuck pig - anyone who's had a tiny split in their dogs ear flap knows what I'm talking about - they just keep on bleeding. Orbit's split the tip of his ear once and we used glue to a) stop the bleeding and b) try glue the split back together. And really, bleeding nails really aren't a big deal? When nails aren't regularly trimmed, the quicks do grow longer and longer down the nail, making it impossible to trim the nails short. I'm not saying I think it's fine to cut a dog whilst grooming, but surely it's not 'sue' worthy? People out to make some money perhaps?

Sorry what credentials do you have in order to comment on such behaviour? Your posts come across like you're deliberately trying to be a trouble maker. Just saying.

You can do the Vet Nursing courses through these people - Animal Industries Resource Centre. I did my Cert II through them and found them great. I had all the notes sent to me and had to submit regular assignments as well as do exams. I found it a lot more nursing focused than TAFE. I had an assessor I could call if I had any troubles and she also came to our clinic for a day to assess my practical skills.

To be fair, the first ingredient is chicken meal, which is just chicken with the moisture taken out, so technically the main ingredient is a meat. I get annoyed at food companies who brag about their main ingredient being straight meat, but that ingredient list is in wet matter form, so once the moisture has been sucked from the meat, it probably wouldn't be close to being the main ingredient. But I'm not a huge fan of corn in foods, let alone as the second main ingredient. But nice to see something of reasonable quality being produced in Australia :)

Sydney Abbatoir Closed For Cruelty

Question though, does free range guarantee an animal has a humane slaughter? I only buy meat from a free range butcher, but I confess to not knowing anything about the slaughter process. If it's cruel and traumatic, it kind of makes the whole free range thing pointless. It's something I'll talk to my butcher about when I'm next in. -
Another vote for pennant hills vet. I went to four different vets before I found Ian. He and all the staff are excellent Oh!!! I just twigged who you are! Thank you

They're lovely! I love unique tags. I got this for Orbit a few months ago from Etsy. With his call name Orbit and his reg name Desert Star, I thought it was perfect for him :) I also got blank matching keyring too

Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition

Roo was no good for us. Too lean and Orbit just kept dropping weight. These days he generally doesn't like the taste either and won't touch roo tails. -
Are you sure they're definitely mozzie bites and not more of a skin reaction/allergy? Heartworm treatment is still important, but I'd probably opt for a consult in case the spots you're seeing are a skin infection or irritation from something in the environment, humidity etc.

Oh no I hope he's found safe and sound

IN the bed Orbee waits on 'his' side of the bed for me to lift up the doona and say OK. Then he comes up and curls up next to me under the doona. If it's too hot though, he'll sleep somewhere else, either on the floor next to my bed, out in the living room on his bed or outside in his crate.

Is it just a cleaner or a medicated treatment? None of our cleaners are that price?? I use Milo's and it's about $15.

Hahahhahahah this thread so funny!!

I would have said she's ok to watch closely. Yes, dry food does swell up with liquid, but it just turns into very soft mash, so it's not going to put a huge amount of pressure on the stomach. We don't usually recommend inducing vomiting in these instances, as trying to force a massive amount of food out a small hole of the stomach at once might do more harm than good.

The groomer may well have clipped the dog as long as was possible. But if there are areas that are matted to the skin, this isn't going to be very long.

Not mine but my Boss' dog - because he was and still is just too damn cute! Then... Now..

Orbit's been stuck in the doona cover a couple of times. It's quite funny

It's fun. Hey Stormie I've got a bloke for you who will think that's hilarious. He's just got a puppy, he's gorgeous and single. He's a responsible dog owner with a great sense of humour so it'll go down well if you have a laugh about Katherine saying BALLS. He'd find it hilarious if some little cutie like you came out with that. Splendid!

Boarding Kennel Vaccination Requirements
stormie replied to PlumTree's topic in General Dog Discussion
You're right - this is a very good point! -
That's exactly what it's doing and why I think it's so clever. How easy is it to meet someone who owns an entire dog and instead of getting on a rant and tell them to cut their dog's balls off you can just throw in - Hey have you seen the Katherine Heigl hates balls ad. This is gonna be my next pick up line :D

Boarding Kennel Vaccination Requirements
stormie replied to PlumTree's topic in General Dog Discussion
Cats are a bit different to dogs though, with regards to the booster thing. An adult dog that has been previously unvaccinated only requires one shot to be covered, where as an adult cat still requires two shots, no matter how old it is, one month apart to be covered. It's the flu component of the cat vaccine which requires two shots, like the injectable Kennel Cough vaccine for dogs. It's all really quite frustrating. Just yesterday we were reading another release by the AVA, saying that they recommend 3 yearly vaccination protocols for both adult dogs and cats (with some exceptions depending on situations). It's easier for dogs with regards to boarding because we have registered 3 yearly vaccines, but for cats it's much harder, because no cattery will accept a cat without an annual F3. I don't get why there is so much difference with the dogs and cats, when the AVA and WSAVA guidelines clearly state core vaccines for both cats and dogs. Why are we still so far behind with the cats?? -
Are you only selling it to desexed pets or do you point out it is not safe for intact animals? I don't think it's that it's not safe, but more that they haven't tested the effects on fertility.
