  1. Haha I don't think I could handle him! He's crazy!
  2. We'll be there in the morning.... So if you see a brunette struggling with 2 ridgebacks (1 feral monster one) standing with a blonde girl with a tall leggy ridgie come say Hi. I'm the Brunette & my name is Renee. Ridgie lover is the blonde
  3. That's not true!! My housemate calls Monster "Britney" (as in the dumb cheerleader from Glee). I always tell him that he's lucky he looks pretty cos he's not very bright! ;)
  4. I tend to disagree, it really depends on the dog and how you look at it. A 30 minute run coupled with 3+ short (but high intensity) training sessions throughout the day would be fine for some breeds - even the higher energy types. But yep, a 30 min plod around the block and a general obedience lesson or 2 wouldn't cut it. Yesterday my Ridgie got 3 short basic training sessions and 2 short (as in around the block type) walks. He was crated for the rest of the day (and slept the whole time This, for him, was fine. Would I be game to try that with a working line Malinois though - not a snowballs chance in hell :D Yesterday mine got no walking and no training other than being made to wait to eat their meals... but they got about an hour of cuddles each and that was fine for both of them!!!
  5. Their favourite thing to do That does sound like a ridgie - they will take more exercise if you want to give it but the prey drive can depend. Mine will chase if something is running... and if Bakari smells something it can be hard to get his focus back.
  6. You are such a gorgeous person Kat. I gave Bakari a big cuddle this morning cos I was feeling a bit flat... Meish came up and gave me kisses too. Hugs for you and Little Man xoxo
  7. Yep you will! I hope Monster has the instinct... He'll be awesome to watch if it's anything like watching him do zoomies!
  8. It is at Kuraby MTD and I will hopefully be going to Yep it is MTD! I'm trying to drag along Miss BeBridgierent and Ridgie lover as well ;)
  9. The Ridgeback Club of Qld are having a fun day on the 12th September.... We're going to have a crack at it then!
  10. ;) yes it was... Hi My name is Renee and I'm a DOL Addict! LOL
  11. Good plan... whereas mine is a pat whore so I need to make the lead long enough so that he can jump up on the fence and let people pat him!
  12. They couldn't easily reach. Not unless the dog is leaning out from the bench and they are leaning right through...
  13. If you can manage to score a double bench you would fit a crate. I fit my C7 C-crate up in the first year I went but it was a pain to get in and out. Not sure about the covering up rule sorry A few took trolleys last year and stuck them at the end of the walkway or folded them up against the fence when not used down at the ring or for transporting stuff There is only really walking room between the bench and the gate so not really much room for chairs. Here's a pic of a double bench and the set up And this one shows the amount of room between the bench and the fence - you could probably take a chair if you are at the end or near a gate so people have the other gate to get out of Hope that helps
  14. reminds me of this pic i took a couple of days ago: Must be the ridgeback in her... Stage 1 Stage 2* *note the omg mum I'm dying of starvation here, I can't hold on much longer look
  15. Bakari Monster To go outside - up and down the stairs to the back door until I cotton on To come inside - Bark, whine, cry until I let him in (normally it's open so it's only when he's shut out for some reason) If he's hungry or wants cuddles - he'll nudge under my arm, then put his head on my lap and sigh, if I'm on the laptop he then moves his head to on the keyboard, if I still don't move all 60kg of him climbs in my lap and rests his head on top of mine so I can't see or move around him If he wants to play - he play bows and barks if I'm sitting down and if I'm up and moving around he tackles/ankle taps me and play bows when I turn around and starts doing kangaroo jumps on the spot trying to lick my face. Meisha Stares....
  16. I get frames from Lenards as they get barf mix for dinner. Meisha is a swallower (wings/necks/even a leg once!) and she's great with these. I get 5 for $1. I have 2 shops close to me and one of the shops always has tiny frames the others much bigger. I ring and order the day before so they can order them in they don't have enough in stock. I get a weeks worth and freeze them. Bakari gets 4 frames and 500g of barf a day and Meish gets 1 frame and 500g barf.
  17. ~Erin~ sells them http://www.twosmallpuppies.com.au/index.ph...products_id=108
  18. Oh WP I'm so sorry. Your words have me bawling my eyes out. Bakari & Meish send ridgie cuddles to try and ease the pain of your loss. Run pain free Tina!
  19. You need to be more creative with food! I stick to anything soft and smelly - any left over roast meat, chicken, steak (cheap cuts you can get from the butcher like gravy meat/chuck steak), luncheon roll, sausages, 4Legs dog food, etc etc - all chopped into tiny pieces so it's easy and quick for the dog to swallow. You can also try feeding his daily food allowance through training instead of just feeding it to him in the bowl. I understand what you mean about having no focus once outside. My dog is 3 and is still like that I've tried roast chicken, steak, cheese - everything and he still wont pay attention. Keep trying the other things like toys, tugs and stuff as well in case his motivations change. The most animated I've seen Bakari in the show ring (and it still wasn't much) was when (out of pure frustration and as a last resort) I baited him with a toilet roll (he loves tearing them apart) Good luck!
  20. I do believe Stormie has already claimed him.....
  21. I can't seem to take a photo without them being in the shot unless I only do headshots..... Maybe I should pixelate them :D
  22. Nope. You'll be sitting with all the other Lappies. Your breed gets booked an aisle and you sit there. Where will you be staying? Welcome to stay at mine if you need too Ooh great I hope we get booked a whole isle, the peace will be lovely! You'll probably be slotted into an aisle with other rare breeds
  23. No worries hahaha yeah just look for the biggest ridgie there and I wont be far away! I actually had one DOLer recognise Monster the first year from his pics here.... I heard her say to her boyfriend "I think that's Monster" I turned around and looked at her and she said "ummm is that Bakari? Are you on DOL?" :D hahah and look at us now Ren.... that was a couple years ago now. I was wondering if you would see that Yep now look at us. Friends outside of DOL!
