  1. Thanks everyone. Well she's worked out how to sleep with it on - we were up every hour last night scratching at the collar and trying to get comfortable but then she slept most of the day ok. I'm thinking maybe I should've kept her awake so she sleeps through tonight! I've had a friend offer the comfy cone but I'm a bit concerned she would bend it back and get to it. I will see how she goes over the next few days and has her check up on Saturday. At this stage it's going to be a long 2 weeks!
  2. In this case it's more to stop her scratching/rubbing her head which I don't think those comfy cones would stop I'm sleeping in the lounge room tonight so I can help her if she needs to go outside
  3. My old girl Meisha who's 12.5yo had surgery today as she had a haematoma in her ear and a lump on her eye that needed removing. She came through the surgery fine but is feeling very sorry for herself tonight. Her ear has numerous sutures and her eye has 1 so the vet said we need to be very careful with that one because if it pops we are in trouble, she'd have to go under again. So she has to wear the cone for 2 weeks. It's hard to get on and off, especially as her head is the sore spot so I don't think she'll get much time out of it We're going to be trying to work from home for the next 2 weeks to make sure we can be here to help her drink and eat ok and make sure Monster doesn't hurt her. But does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it more comfortable for her?
  4. I used to go to Manly Road Vet hospital when I lived over that way and they were really good. They would only be about 15 minutes or so from you as well. http://www.localvet.com.au/manlyroad/
  5. Oh I see I've been nominated.... I think it might be fun if I have the look you are after....
  6. He's won quite a few people over once they've met him ;) Thank you! I love it!
  7. Yes he is Tiggy! And they are Cody. Nothing better than a big dog to cuddle up to.
  8. June 2011 August - I was home sick... See he really is a lap dog
  9. Meisha's mum passed away a couple of weeks ago at 14 1/2. Ridgies lifespan I think is 10-12years Meish is 9 this year so I hope she takes after her mum and gives me a lot more time with her... the 3 years I've had her hasn't been long enough.

  11. Yeah Lotsa pet food closed down a couple of weeks ago. I rocked up and she was dismantling the shop! I had no idea. I need to ring around to get prices of the other places that sell the canine country stuff
  12. Can I steal this one for the Ruthless Leather gallery page please? I don't mind... and I don't think Lic will either?
  13. Yes they do steal your heart and even though my one dog was a little cow for most of the time she did do things that were very cute, like sit in the lounge with her front paws on the floor like a human she is very protective of my mums house still and even though her athiritis is real bad she will always wait up for my mum if she goes out at night and will go down to the garage to escourt her back up - I love that about her!! I also think she is a particually stubborn dog, dont think I have ever met another like her! Her sister was more gentle and very sooky whereas Gabby was very independent and was only affectionate towards men You mean like this? If you want to squee over pics check out my boys thread http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;#entry5066500 Bakari is the biggest sook out when it comes to me. Very very loyal. I have 2 - Mother and son and they are very different His recall isn't great but if I yell stop he wont go far from there. He will do things for pats/cuddles rather than a food/toy. Meisha's recall is pretty good. She'll do anything for food and isn't as cuddly when around the house. I would go and meet breeders - they'll know their dogs and behaviours. Good luck!
  14. Monsters recall is non existant so you're doing better than me I'm busy the next 2 weekends but after that I'm good. SL would a saturday suit you better? Maybe saturday 19th Feb?
  15. I don't think I can make it this anymore I have to spend some time with Dad at the hospital and I need to do a stack of stuff to clean up from the flooding. I will have to make another date to catch up with you all!
  16. Bianca, if it's tiny is there somewhere else you can suggest? I've sent SL another message but she starts work at 12 up at Yandina I think :D Maybe we'd be better doing it another weekend on a saturday?
  17. She's right if it's morning because she has to work in the arvo
  18. A friend just posted this on facebook. If there is anyone who is going to the Hillsborough showgrounds this weekend, Greg Barden is donating his time, efforts and his pan tech truck to the flood crisis victims of qld in particular dog show affected people... Our goal is to fill this truck completely of supplies... So please donate generously with items such as water, dog food, can food etc etc I believe they mainly need things like toiletries and stuff
  19. Update on JSK 4 hours ago - she had to evacuate. Her & the dogs are at an evacuation point.
  20. Miss Monster (Renee Page) -Coorparoo. I'm ok not near the expected floods but at risk of rain overflow (we're at the bottom of a gully). Our house has been flooding over christmas so hopefully we wont get any worse than what we've already copped. We have a plan in place if our street starts flooding.
  21. You are more than welcome to come Bianca!
  22. I will be there with Meish & Bakari! What time are we doing it? SL can only make it morning but I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to meet you bastards so don't make it to early!!! Hope there will be some Staffies and other dogs that like playing rough!
