I to had a wonderful comp in Sydney, I thought everything was fantastic ( except for trying to get out at the end of the night with all of our dogs, LOL) I was so pleased with all of our dogs racing, and couldnt believe the times Sadie was running for her Uncle Josh after 3 days of racing. Was also so very proud of Nikeeshas little papillion Ricky as he is fairly new to the game and ran so unbeliveable for the two days with some very tight crosses from Jess. Well Done everybody on a fantastic comp!!!

Sharon, What a beautiful thought for Cathy at this sad time for her, Jeddah was a remarkable dog and i am sure she will love this thoughtful gesture from you. Maree, you are truly fantastic with your work, the poster looks great and i am sure Cathy will love it. Rhi, it was so nice of you to include your photos. Its times like these that i realise how precious photos are. Great work girls, and again I am sure Cathy will be eternally thankful.

Albury Flyball Comp
Astro Boy 2 replied to DeltaCharlie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
We will be there, Sadie can't wait it seems like ages since our last comp. It will be great to catch up with Amanda and Ruth from Norwest again. See you all in less than a week! -
umm cos duh it would be a suprise, as in no one would know, hence the fact people need to know to actually make a decision. I'm sure people can leave after they have finished racing or as soon as they seen the wedding party and not hang around for the wedding. I guess you dont have to worry, as i'm guessing you wont be there. As can be seen from the other posts a lot of people think its a great idea and believe you have caused enough trouble, so CONGRATS! Job well done! Its great that you are a fake member as i'm sure people would be truly disappointed if they knew who you really were.
-
Sorry, I forgot to add, CONGRATS TASSIE, it was great to see you at the comp, i hope you had a safe trip back and you all enjoyed the comp. You did a great job, hope to see you back soon. Would love to take a team to Tassie for a comp.

Yes, Nationals are 17th and 18th of October next year. We have a long time to wait for the next nats.
-
exactly, thankyou your right because if it was a suprise then people wouldnt be given the chance to choose for themselves. If it was still a surprise, why couldn't people leave after the comp and before the wedding, if they didn't want to stay for the wedding? Of course people have choices, no one is making anyone do anything they dont want to do.

Montanna, i'm guessing you wont be at the comp then, if it is unacceptable?

The Weiners are hosting a 2 day comp, with camping on sight. Yes 2 members are getting married on Saturday late afternoon, but they advertised there would be entertainment and a spit roast that night. The Spit roast is costing $15 pp. so i hardly think that the flyballers are paying for the reception. I have been to flyball comps where a spit roast has been offered for dinner on the Saturday night at $22 pp, and a great night out with flyball members. So whats the difference? No one has said that the competitors had to have the spit roast, it was offered. If people were really concerned they could have asked what the entertainment was. Sounds like a trouble maker, maybe you could have added the facts. Should be a great comp!

Flyball - Which Way Does She Turn?
Astro Boy 2 replied to whatevah's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hi I hope your training is going well. It is fraustrating when your dog decides to change the way it turns. My dog Sadie has been all over the place with her turns, she turns to the right, but she used to, when running in the left lane, get distracted by the dog in the right lane and then she would miss the first jump. So then she would take the ball from the left side when she was running in the left lane and the right side when running in the right side. This worked really well for 12 months or so (used to confuse the boxloader though). Then we tried her just in the left side, to stop some of the confusion and this works well, but she actually turns the other way. But thats her, never does anything easily! Hope all goes well, good luck flyballing. -
Hi everyone, I haven't been on DOL for ages and looks like i have missed out on heaps. Your photos are amazing!!!! Thanks 2tollers for putting the photos of Sadie up. Harminee and Freckles you guys are amazing, THANK YOU so much for taking the time to do that with Sadies photos. She does have amazing ears and they always look funny in flyball photos, so no offence taken to previous comments ;) ;) 2tollers, you're right Sadie is 8 yo. not a typical flyball dog, but i am so proud of her  Keep up the great work guys, you are so considerate, and doing a fantastic job

Hi everyone, really interested in buying a black flyball box. If anyone knows of one please let me know. Thanks
-
YAH! Congrats leopuppy and Kinta! Go the ELLAGANT dogs. We called into Ana and Bens on Saturday and Ana was saying how they did really well at the shows in Brisbane too.
-
Thanks guys! Leopuppy I would love to see Leo in the obedience ring one day. He sounds like a very clever puppy! Your CD title sounded like my Cosmo's (my pappillion) he won the encouragement ring, then 2 weeks later went to Gippsland for 3 days of trials and came home with his CD :p Isn't it great when you get a really great, comitted dog. Gamby - Congrats on your test 1 pass I need to get Sadie back into tracking (will probably enter Ballarat) She misses it terribly. When coming home from Queensland, we stopped at a state forest, and i am sure Sadie was looking for the start flag. We had a great trip to nationals, we arrived the Sunday before, all the Ballarat Ellens hired a mini bus and our big trailer with Jazz,Dash,Hades,Fonzie and Sadie. Tiger was in the bus. The dogs went to doggy day care for 3 of the days (which they loved) and they were really relaxed going into the comp. and then we left on the Tuesday, travelled to the blue mountains and Jenouin caves, then spent 2 nights in Merrimbula visiting relatives, and got home on the Saturday. Had a great time! (apart from the weather) Tollersowned - you guys had great racing as well and kept us on our toes. Thanks for all your support over the weekend. Can't wait for next year ShelleyBeggs - Good Luck with your Aussie hunting! You wont be dissappointed, and your right it is a nice vibe!

My beagle uses raquet balls as she didnt like the felt of the tennis ball on her tongue. (however now she will play with a tennis ball, but still wont use one in flyball) It does turn out to be expensive as i normally buy new ones at $7 - $8 a ball!

A kelpie x red heeler came into our care at 9, highly intelligent and very comitted to my mum. She started real obedience at 11 and got her CD at 13. She is now 20 but she is an exception to the rule i think.

Hi, DOL's and Aussie lovers. Still on cloud 9 after Flyball nationals, just wanted to let everyone know that Ballarat Eureka Sovereigns WON Div. 3. Jazz and Hades were both members of this team and both ran fautless! Very proud of Jazz as she ran every heat in every race for our team and also got her FMX (flyball master excellent title) at the Aust flyball championships. Almost forgot, my dog Sadie (a Beagle, not an Aussie) was in the winning team as well and also did a great job! Jazz, Hades and Sadie at nationals (hopefully)

Hi everyone, just got home yesterday after slowly travelling back to Ballarat after some sight seeing. What a great weekend and would do it all over again! Great racing from everyone and great comp. Thanks Queensland! I was so excited to win Div. 3, both teams from Ballarat ran awesome! And HUGE congrats to Weiners Hot Dogs who won Div.2 at their first nationals for that club. What a great effort guys!
-
Hi I may be interested. What sort of box is it?
-
Sorry, haven't been on for a while. Sadie is fine, thanks. She got her FMCH. on Saturday so i am very proud of the way she ran on the weekend. I lost my voice though (just thought it was flyball voice but now i have the flu.) We are leaving on the 2nd of June.

Come on guys, i am so excited about Queensland now. Less than 4 weeks. When is everyone leaving to go?

Funny Stories About Trialling Or Training.
Astro Boy 2 replied to Astro Boy 2's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thanks guys for your funny stories, and us mere humans are not to blame for all our friends silly behaviours. Some of them are just plain naughty Another training session gone wrong, i was training Sadie on some land near the Ballarat Airport with some friends. We were doing a recall, when i called, she came running in to me, then veered out to the right, put her nose on the ground and she was off! The thing with Sadie is once her nose goes on the ground, she turns DEAF! There i was calling her, then running after her (again), everyone came to help. By that stage the grass was so long, all we could see was the stern of her tail every now and then as she leapt through the grass. Planes were landing and taking off everywhere. Well, what seemed like hours we finally got her back, but i could see myself carrying my much beloved friend into the vets yelling HELP! MY DOGS JUST BEEN HIT BY A PLANE! (Glad i can laugh about it now because i wasn't laughing then) -
Funny Stories About Trialling Or Training.

Thanks guys for sharing your stories. I know what you mean about familiar places. I never like taking Sadies lead off, but one training night we were doing stays and i was nearly at trialling level so i thought yeh, why not! BIG MISTAKE She got a sniff, ran for miles, me chasing her like a crazy woman she ran to the busiest street in Ballarat in peak hour traffic, wanted to show me that all my hard training hadn't gone to waste, she sat before checking both ways then when clear she crossed a four lane street. ( I stil have no idea how she managed that one safely, but i saw her do it. Then she ran into a cathlic school past the nuns houses ( by this stage i was so cross, tiptoeing past the houses hoping not to get caught. I finally caught her as she had ran down a little lane to the school kitchen. Tiptoeing back past the nuns house, and heeling all the way back to training. My instructor said she went over there to say her prayers! Never got better after i started trialling, in Stays at a Keilor trial she got a sniff took off up the hill, i ran after her (without a lead as i had been in the ring and the judge told me to go and as she moves a lot quicker than me i didn't want to lose her) 20 mins later I had Sadie by the coller as she is dragging me back down the hill while every one is watching. She is so NAUGHTY
