  1. Why are you testing the whole litter? i presume most of the litter would be going as pets and so if they are carrier or clear isn't important? Becks by testing the whole litter you can know their status and can inform the new owner. By knowing the status of all the litter you can make choices to onbreed from the clear and desex the carrier and thus remove the carriers from the gene pool. As Eishund stated she has imported a dog that is a carrier. This is an ANKC FCI registered dog. Unfortunately most of the imported dogs are carriers and thus have to be tested. So far every litter of White Swiss Shepherds in Australia has had 1 parent a carrier. Previously the Australian bred White Shepherds were all clear of MDR1 so it was not an issue. Semen of a carrier was imported and used in some lines so this introduced it to those Australian lines. Some of the breeders of White Shepherds do DNA profile their litters.
  2. Words fail me on all accounts. :mad :mad :mad
  3. http://breedingbetterdogs.com/pdfFiles/articles/early_neurological_stimulation_en.pdf Thanks for that lil's mum I was going to have to dig around in my files to find it.
  4. Given its a cav the breeder would have no problem in selling to someone else. Well your Mum is probably being a pain, there is no way I would ask for a $250 non refundable deposit. I keep the pup in good faith until they are ready to go and I never put off people when I have "sold" them all I tell them to check back when the pups are 8 weeks, given that there are many slips between the cup and the lip.
  5. I think it would work well on the shorter back part of them. No good on feathering.
  6. I also bought one recently (at the Melb Royal) and as I've borrowed one before from a friend I have to say I too am very impressed with this brush. Also clearly it does benefit quiet different coat types as you have Pugs and I have Cavaliers. LizT and I got one at the same time, much to Sab's delight. ;) It is fantastic on the cavs coat. I sprinkle them with an Isle of Dogs product, brush that dry leave until just about to go in the ring then brush with CC and beautiful shiny coat. So did your sister, we bought all three. Wasn't warned about not using any spray products though. Glad to know that as I wouldn't want to stuff it up by oxidizing the brass. I forgot that she got it then.
  7. I left the paper work at home was running late, just made it for Veterans. Actually it would have been hard to distribute yesterday as the groups are all split. Will take it to Garden State. Have emailed to Dogs Vic.
  8. Yay! The Minor was mine! I'm still shocked. It's a shame people had their gazebos damaged :( Our gazebo's were fine thank goodness, but I stupidly left my sunglasses on the gazebo the night before (because they kept falling off my head) but they were gone by the time we got back in the morning :( Well done. I was sitting outside the fence, but saw you go in for In Show. My sister and I did not get to the Group Specials until Puppy, so busy drinking.
  9. Leema they look very cute and Clover looks good.
  10. I am very sorry that your son is unwell. Glad pups are all doing well.
  11. "DEVELOPING HIGH ACHIEVERS" Originally published as "Early Neurological Stimulation" by Dr. Carmen Battaglia Funny thing I had more or less practised what Carmen suggests by accident. Having a young child with friends coming over and handling the pups. My vet always said that mine where the best socialised pups that they saw and this was with some coming back on an ongoing basis.

  14. It was all talk when I turned up! I seen nothing, not sure if anyone else did. I did however, walk around and see many frames broken, bent inside out and actually pushed into the ground. I've had frames up in all sorts of weather and not had them damages by wind. I guess anything is possible though Thanks for the Terrier results MM! The damage I saw on a friends Gazebo has not done by wind. They had completely lowered theirs and cross tied the ropes underneath. I have seen this survive before.Only 1 side was had the arms snapped.
  15.   How embrassment.
  16. Thats sad doing what he was supposed to.

  18. You did not read the full article Since then I routinely give 1 heaped teaspoon of fenuregreek twice a day for at least 2 weeks. I mix it in the wet food. It could also be mixed with minced chicken or beef into balls if you are not giving moist food.
