Every litter you learn something new. Last weekend helped Fanuilos with Ellie's litter and learned again.

Miss Ruby is thinking of joining the january ranks. She was huffing and puffing away beside me during the night but ate her breakfast this morning, as mine do. Milk up to all but last 2 nipples.

Copied from instructions for rising star. Junior, Puppy, Minor Puppy or Baby Puppy in Show - (50 points) Junior, Puppy, Minor Puppy or Baby Puppy in Group - (20 points) Junior, Puppy, Minor Puppy or Baby Puppy of Breed - (5 points) So regardless how many are in breed, group or show, thats the total number of points and then that is doubled for over 750. Its only the rising star that is doubled. All the rest are based on dogalogue entries. So having 17 dogs entered and only take 1 one gives you a 6 point challenge but a 17 BOB score. Roughly entry $10 so $170 to get 17 points.

I always get the dogalogue. What pisses me is people who have multiple dogs and NEED yours to check, thats okay. BUT its those that remove it and never return it. AND take it without asking like happened last saturday, I came back to check our new breed no dogologue. Then I espied one on a nearby trolley and said is that mine. Oh soory i just borowed it. Yeah right. It was a 2 day show so needed it for Tuesday. I think youngest to oldest is good.

Seeing I put some of Laurie's gems in the other thread. I nomiate Laurie Humphries and his wife Kath do a fantastic job. With Kath being show secretary to many shows. :p :p ;) ;) :D

Sorry to hear about your loss... it just sucks losing pups. Counting the 12 I lost due to vet negligence last month (plus my girl), and then the 4 babies yesterday, that's 17 I've lost in just over a month Us breeders need strong hearts... OMG did not think to add the number up. Heartbreaking.

I spoke to Judy about this today. DogsVic has created a area of major concern for all breeders in Vic. As a breeder we register a litter all legit and above board. We give the papers to the new owners. They have to JOIN DOGVIC before they can transfer the ownership. Thus we have many dogs still technically owned by us which if that dog is declared dangerous we could be libel. When they turned up at Judy's they had a wad of paper and wanted to know where all the dogs were. The other aspect is microchipping. If the new owners do not transfer the dog its in your name. And now that is cost $6 to transfer I supply a cheque made out to CAR as part of my puppy pack. For clarity. It is not possible to register the pups in to the new owners name.

It was an enjoyable 2 days. Inside was a bit tight but I felt we all managed. It was great how they opened up the two rings for BIS.
