All incorrect dealings aside. This is not an inherited condition if its the correct diagnosis. All dogs and humans are born with a patent duct. This closes with the first breath. Its the closure of the foetal circulation. Sometimes it does not close and heart surgery has to be performed usually in the very early weeks of life. In a dog I would suggest this would cause very poor health and it would succumb quickly.

When did that ruling come in BB? A few years ago now, I mated a bitch to my stud dog and then leased her back to her breeder in whelp and as far as I can recall she had no problems registering the litter in her name. Perhaps I was not clear. The lease was for three months but had to be done before whelping. So as soon as pregnancy confirmed you leased back and at 3 months automatically returned to owner. ETA. There wasa cost to lease back and new papers issued. No cosrt the other way and new papers issued. Its 12 years since I did it so cannot recall the details. After that we just left the girls in my name as easier.

Last year I had a girl have a bit of an attempt and whelping 6 dyas early from first mating. Bit of panting, bit of mild contractions. Then the meconium discharge. Had caesar, first pup dead and very maserated. Next 2 alive, next one dead and starting maserate, next 2 alive but one very flat. Flat one died about 2 hours after birth. Others survived 1 week tube feed. Maybe survived if weatehr had been better and they had had antibiotics. They may have been froma later mating as they looked quite prem. Obviously the dead ones caused the early labour and because the first one was dead no descent down birth canal. I will mate her again as she has had successfully litters in the past. I belive it just happens.

In Vic, in the past, you transferred mum to your name for a period of 3 months I think. Had to be in breeders name at birth. Have to see what the current scene is.

I would not have said we where there if we did not have the dogs. They are allowing dogs in trailers parked behind the office.

My Ruby went out to the last mating thus 4 days over. This time she has huffing and puffing from 5 days out. I had her prog tested day 62 and it was 28.9 needs to be 10 to deliver. She deliver the first on 15 mins before midnight on the due date.

I disagree with the post re runnerup BOB. Its a case of always the bridesmaid never the bride. In our breed with 1 dog constantly wining the only chance soemone else has is RUBOB. This result is constanlty a different dog. So many other dogs can come second which is still a good result as often they may have won their class in group and class in show or been knocked out by BIS/RUBIS. EFT.
