  1. Definitely not wombat - which looks like dog poo except it's green. I need to get some mates up here to sort out my local fox problem. Although I know more will fill the gap.
  2. Very interesting feedback! Much better than suffering through it. Fortunately mine are awesome travellers but it's nice to be able to suggest another option to people :)
  3. It needs to align with your values around training. You need to have the time. You need to be treated with respect. If you are unhappy take a break sooner rather than later. You can always return after a breather.
  4. I actually use them under the kitty litter tray for the lad with poor aim. Thanks for putting me onto them :)
  5. Oooh! Lovely! Will be a lot of "bang" for your buck so to speak - heaps of fun!!!
  6. You won't be disappointed with the quality - really solid.
  7. What are you getting Rozzie??? Yes pee pads are great fun :D
  8. Reject shop ones are fine. But 3 hours is perfectly doable for my pups - think they would just play tug with them...
  9. I do get that LG - but I didn't hear the fox get our chooks and I was 2 rooms away. And farm animals aren't expected to be in reinforced enclosures.
  10. Also try cat food - amazingly easy to get puppies downing big tablets!
  11. Agree. I refunded a puppy buyer in full when they changed their mind after 24 hours of having the puppy!
  12. Yes good point Steph. Lifetime support - and even just the interest my breeders show - is priceless.
  13. Hernias can be so mild that any corrective surgery is purely cosmetic. In most cases I wouldn't sell a pup without having the prospective owners meet my dogs - they need to feel comfortable they can deal with the energy and training and I need to see how they interact with the dogs. It's funny though that there is such a mismatch between breeders and puppy buyers - I've had a string of inappropriate enquiries for my remaining pup!!! Enough to put me off breeding another litter!
  14. Puppy buyers get my litter and their mum's whole life story not to mention a lot of questions (working ESS) Each to their own I guess but it's about what you as a puppy buyer and the breeder feel comfortable with. I settled on a Dalmatian because I respected the breeder and their values aligned with mine. 8.5 years later and I still stay in touch. My Springer's breeder has been incredibly supportive - we chat via phone/email at least once every few weeks, I visit whenever I can and she was the person I rang at 5am when my bitch was in whelp.
  15. Vebopet all the way - great quality, price, online ordering.
  16. My Springer can push through fox proof fences when she's riled up so don't discount a determined dog either.
  17. Yes there were some very unimpressed adult dogs and cats - all the lovely new toys and food and they weren't allowed near them. All they got were their toes nibbled :D
  18. Like this? :D So cute. So big! How old were the pups, Spotted Devil? I think about 6 weeks give or take...they are big pups for sure! I was going to do the frame of dangly stuff but by the time they had forced themselves through the brooms, rakes and cover in the back yard I realised it would be obsolete  GP sounds delighted with his new pup by the way!
  19. Like everything else in our house every day is different - inside, outside, separately, together, crate, pen, kitchen, bowl, Kong Wobbler, puzzle toy, scattered on the ground, training... Pups are always locked away or outside and I will supervise the adults if they are eating together. Cats are also locked away as they don't have a lot of impulse control either. I don't like seeing animals under pressure to gobble food (although mine tend to do a pretty good job of that on their own!)
  20. Ahhhhhh. So not a breakaway? Like the old style? Yeh not fussed about recognition but I do like the safety aspect of the breakaway and wing jumps with plastic cups. There are some wickedly fast dogs out there that can do themselves real damage.
  21. What's the drama this time? Haven't decided yet!
  22. How tragic Condolences to her friends and family.
  23. Roundworm (and I think hookworm?) eggs can lie dormant until the later stages of pregnancy. Doesn't matter how much you worm them prior.
