  1. Too funny....was just offered 2 days extra work (involving travel). Will miss agility training and a few other things but said yes to the $ to justify my Clean Run order
  2. *faints from cute overload* What a lovely little pup RB Can't wait to meet him :D He brought me the bunny too....so maybe a future retrieving champ in the making??? Admittedly he did run away with the bunny first. :p If he likes bunnies that much maybe he'll have to go field trialling with the Spaniels. We'll put floppy ears on him and dose him up with red cordial
  3. Most of our VIC trials are now online entries. I love it Thanks for the clarification Vickie - same rules as normal trials but just a longer time between closing date and the trial. I won't have even trialled Em if I decide to enter her!
  4. I've got something similar that a guy at Croydon made. If your dog hits the poles they do move a bit. Great for doing 2x2 though as you can move them around so easily. These ones screw in the ground using an adaptor with your cordless screw driver so they reckon they are a lot more stable....? They don't include the stick in the ground weaving poles in free shipping. JulesP - do you remember (ball park) what the guy at Croydon charged please? These are nearly $90 for 12 which I thought was fairly good value. I didn't see these.....I just got the screw in the ground bases as I already have the poly pipe to fit, but I think I might order another 6, if I can make it up to $100 again Sorry Yes, my total is a bit but I had always planned to spend a few hundred dollars on equipment over the Summer....most of my order is training gear. Oh and the Thorlo running socks - 1/3 of the price that you pay in Oz
  5. Yes I agree but I want something really transportable as, although we have 3/4 acre, we do live on the side of a mountain
  6. This Last year, Ziggy got a puppy for Christmas.......he's told me he wants another one because this one is broken......she's all grown up and has no respect for him anymore

  8. Enablers of DOL unite I'm thinking of purchasing a set of screw in the ground weave poles - any feedback from anyone?
  9. Thank goodness Vic is hosting the Dally Nationals next year. Don't think I could justify TWO interstate trips
  10. Do you think if I eat a "screw up cookie" (i.e. 4 legs, raw chicken mince) every time I stuff up I'll stop making mistakes perhaps?

  12. Seeing as it's always my fault, in training I will sometimes redo the jump but ONLY after at least giving a verbal marker (and preferably a food reward from my pocket) for doing exactly what I told him initially. I make a HUGE deal about how wonderful he is and keep my body language really positive - no dropped shoulders but keep engaging with him. In a trial I generally keep running unless the jump is pivotal for doing the next sequence. Again I mark with a "yes!" and lots of "good boys" which keeps Zig's motivation high. Last week at training we had a very tough layered turn with tempting off course jumps. I pulled Zig off too early and he did exactly as I'd asked - instead of being disappointed I whooped like an idiot and said to the instructor "how brilliant was that!!!" as I shovelled treats down Zig's throat She laughed in understanding and said "yep, I'd take that too" ;) ETA: Em is only a baby so we are just starting sequences. If she misses something I keep it light, fix my body language, make it easier, try it again and HUGE celebration when she gets it. I often say something silly when the dogs miss something eg "oh you poor dog with such a silly Mama" which ensures I keep the mood light and remember who's fault it is.
  13. My Clean Run wall came bound with eyelets. It's great on the gazebo but I have seen them used on crates under a gazebo.
  14. Check out the Chilly Buddy coat - doesn't need to be wet to be effective. I have 2 on order after rave reviews by a DOLer.
  15. I'm so very sorry Sway What a tragic outcome. Best wishes to both you and Chelsee Run free beautiful Willow.
  16. Mr TSD asked me today if I would be talking about all the incredibly cool things on the Clean Run website until the 16th of December Ooops
  17. Don't give up x If the sighting at the park sounds reliable I would keep flooding the area with flyers. The weather has been crappy so there hasn't been many people out walking.
  18. In the simplest terms drive = internal motivation. I know there is so much more to it of course. Interestingly I classify my Dalmatian as high energy, low drive - and yes, a tough dog to train but incredibly rewarding. Every ounce of food and prey drive has been obtained with blood, sweat and a few tears My working ESS is high energy, high drive with the BEST off switch. She is the softest, sweetest little dog. Her drive for flushing birds is beyond anything I could imagine. Her drive for everything else is pretty high too but nothing to her original purpose.
  19. Is this black male also the dog that the lady was seen with? lilli - I'm not 100% sure of course but I don't think so as the two sightings were a long way apart. So sorry it wasn't a better outcome Sway. I did try to catch him several times but he snatched the food and bolted
  20. Sway - poor turnout at Lilydale show today (weather and no horse events) so I still have 40 A5 posters to hand out. Where would you like me to concentrate them?
  21. There is a waiting list for the equestrian centre - details on the National website. I think there are limited spaces at Erskine Park - check Dogs NSW website. I'm staying at Avina Caravan Park
  22. JulesP - you have been looking over my shoulder I think!
  23. xena98 - will be a fun week! I really like the t-shirts - nice design.
  24. Jess - no, that's full and only powered sites, no ensuites. I will be 30 min away - same place I stayed at for the Dally Nationals. Well worth a short car trip for the luxury of having your own bathroom amypie - no way is Zig sleeping with me - he's so heavy and such a dead weight Em's not much better actually but Mr TSD won't be there so more room on the bed!
