  1. Does anyone know of any Veterinary Chiropactor's in Victoria?
  2. well my baby is an idiot when it comes to play....he leaps and bounds and cant keep his feet on the ground, he has probably hurt himself this way, ahh!
  3. Hi Poodlefan! I am also wanting to take him to a chiropractor but wanted him to see the vet first. Im a little nervy when it comes to people touching my pup when they dont know whats happening underneath. I spoke to one person who said she cant ethically touch him until he has seen a vet . She said she does massage, Homeopathy and austiopathic work. Does anyone know what these actually are? thanks!
  4. I have a 5 month old large breed puppy whom i am worried about. I have recently been told that he is "cow hocked" by an onlooker. When i bought him he was definitly NOT cow hocked. When i look at him it does seem his hocks have turned in slightly. My dad has been telling me for a few weeks now that he doesnt walk properly on his hindquarters, i just figured it was cos he is a baby and he is growing and going through "the ugly" stages of growth. I spoke to another person i know regarding this and she told me he looks to be getting "lazy". When she started feeling around abit we could see he was sore in his hindquarters. I am going to take him to see a vet for some x-rays but has anyone ever had this problem in a pup so young? do you think it should be anything to worry about? Will an x-ray be able to tell me anything? Can a pup so young get hip displasia? Both the sire and dam have good hip scores. Any advice would be appriciated!
  5. I knew someone who went to Monash Vet Clinic, there pup was overdosed with ACP and died, however one of my friends goes to monash and will never go anywhere else! To be honest though, you NEVER know how good a vet is until you have worked behind the scenes! Fitzroy Vet Clinic is a good one and so is Avondale Heights Vet clinic.

  7. My puppy swollows chicken necks whole, can this cause any harm?
  8. This problem is not to do with diet. It is to do with breeding/confirmation. its a forequater fault, its called having an "east-west" front. The legs are narrow and pitched at elbows and chest causing feet to turn out.
  9. Hey Akitaowner! I am getting a sable/white rough collie bitch to be my best friend and to show. She is hopefully going to be born this weekend thats if there are enough girls in the litter for me to have one...there is a long list . *Crossing my fingers* I live with my parents in suburbia melbourne with a decent size backyard and good fencing. There is also two under cover entertainment areas. Im am 21 years old and havnt had a dog for 4 years! I have been beggin for 4 years but it has paid off!! Its not that my parents dont like animals its just that when i was young our house was like noahs Ark, and they wanted some "time off". My mum is very fussy when it comes to keeping things clean!!! actually she is physco about it!. But anyway I am excited because they have finally given in to me!! My 'pup to be' is out of Ch. Kazjs Strike A Pose and Ch. Kazjs Finbar. It is funny though the bitches call name is the same as my name..."Katie" I have also brought on of those grooming suitcases and have nearly filled it. I still need to get a crate, kennel, bowls, hydrobath, dryer, collar and lead. I have already got heaps of toys consisting of a kong and a few squikies. Anyway thats enough bladdering! I cant wait and already cant sleep at night cos all i do is dream about having my puppy!! Dam can be found: http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/profile.asp?dog=18681
  10. Thanks everyone for your ideas! I think i will get a crate and see if i can put the pup in there overnight.
  11. I live in Melbourne (East Keilor) and am getting a Rough Collie bitch!! The litter is due this weekend I am soooo excited, im going nuts
  12. I will be getting a puppy in about 2 months and am worried that with winter coming it is going to be extremely cold for my new pup! I live with my parents whom wont let animals inside the house and possibly wont let a puppy stay inside during the night for the first couple of weeks. If this is the case what would be the best thing to do? Ive thought of getting her a kennel and putting heaps of blankets with one of my worn t-thirts. Also thought of a hotwater bottle or even one of those heated mats. If i did that i would have to enclose the cord within PVC piping or something so if she chews it it wont be a problem. What do you think?
