Hi everyone A friend of mine has an old Rotti with a sore toe. He took it to a vet in Cottesloe and the vet tried to pull the nail with no anasethtic (sp?) He now wants to take it to a new vet. Can someone please suggest a good one for these pair of old dogs

Thank you for that. The dates are as above 20-30/12/2010 and the area is Cottesloe Sorry, I didn't see the dates in your thread title Have you tried all the kennels? I am no where near you otherwise I would offer to help out with feeding. Yes we have tried them all and the pet sitters seem to be busy as well. That is very kind of you to even have a look and reply. Maybe someone on here may be able to help Thank you for replying Golden Rules

Hi Forum Does anyone know of some accommodation for 2 dogs, they can kennel together 1 rotti 1 x breed, for the above dates. There has been a change of plans and now accommodation is now needed. Alternatively they are happy to stay at home with a Pet sitter. Please PM me if anyone can help or would like to be paid to feed these dogs over the Xmas break. Cheers

Here is my girl who will be 5 months Thursday.

Everything will need to be in the breeders name and the breeder will have to sign the entry form, that is of course you are putting in a manual entry

I haven't read through all these post but from the OP I would say ignore her....she has the problem not you........and if it was me in the ring............I would be thinking I would want to say to her....ahhhhhhh go have a shit and fall in it.... :D ;) but you CAN'T say that!!! Can you ?????

The breeder has approached the owner to breed from the dog. As far as I am concerned, that negates any right the breeder may have had to get upset that it's shown in a local ag show. Breeding from a dog with a bad bite is much more serious to me than taking it around the ring at your local. I am responding to this, as per page one post, on a personal level as a breeder that I would not be happy for one of my puppies to be presented to a judge as the best example of my breeding because this would not be the case. As far as the breeder wanting to use this pup in it's breeding programme........well that's a whole other can of worms which on this occassion I am not prepared to enter into as this was not the OP question. ;) Hope this clarifies this post for the posters reading and replying

I would have to agree with the earlier post on page one of "Not being happy if I was the breeder" and I hear what the OP is saying about her daughter wanting to show their dog. What I would suggest is to look around for a show quality puppy, if you already have 2 dogs another is not going to make a difference, should your daughter is serious about wanting to be involved in showing and by the sounds of what you have written it sounds like she has the bug I would then promise her to opportunity for next years show, as I am sure it will come again. In the mean time until you find this puppy keep encouraging her participation with the opportunities that are currently being presented to her with respect to her handling other peoples dogs. This way she can enhance and learn the skills and once the puppy comes along and the shows rolls around again next year she will be further skilled have more confidence and will be showing her own puppy with the blessing of a good breeder I see this as a win/win situation, maybe not immediately but definately over the longer term. Hope this helps in some way

I feel where you are coming from. I had a similar experience when I lost my heart dog a Border Collie x Kelpie named Chad, he has been gone 8 years last month. Before I had to pts I use to dream of him and I constantly but once he was gone I had no dreams of him for about a fortnight, which I thought odd due to the truama I went through when he passed. The night I did dream of him in my dream I walked into an room that was the shape of a semi circle and glass all around and that was covered. There was a man with golden hair and a leather jacket on, he was sitting in a chair and on my arrival he turned around and the jacket came off and he was in white robes and this most amazing golden hair....he was angelic. Out of nowhere I could see through the windows and there was the greenest lushest field I had ever seen. I then saw Chad running and bounding around in this field with other dogs...Chad was very very friendly. The man said " Chad will be going to heaven in a week" Once he told me this I felt sudden relief and calm. When I woke I had the same feelings, still grieving mind you but I had peace of mind and a sense of calm. I tried to descibe this man in my dream and all I could come up with was he was like an Angel, until we visited my ex's mothers place and on the side board was a painting that my ex did as a young boy and it was the man in my dream. I asked my ex if it was an angel and he said "Yes it is Gabriel" Well to say I was gobbsmacked was an understatement. I am not a religous person but I do truly believe that through all my grief I was visited by the Arcangel Gabriel. 8 years on and I wish my boy was still here as I miss him terribly and still cry when I start to repeat the events of his demise but this give me comfort knowing he is safe, happy and out of pain and 3 years ago his best mate Tilly joined him. I feel your grief and your loss

Always keep $2000 aside when having a litter, at a minimum

Well my little hopeful and first bred show puppy Meg won her first fringie today.... I don't want to sound like I am gloating, because I am not as I am still stunned, as she beat the most gorgeous little Corgi that actually took BPIS at the Royal yestersday. :D

Nice pics and congrats on your boys win :D :p

I will say only this to you. I hope you have 1. Great stamina 2. A tough hide 3. And a BIG wallet If you have all these then you are born to be a breeder and will be able to move forward with bettering your choosen breed if not you could find yourself driven to near exhaustion should anything happen to your bitch or the pups throughout the whelping process and beyond and if you do not have a tough hide you may only have the one litter as the heartache may get the better of you and should all of the above go wrong you're going to need that BIG wallet. :D
