  1. Tsar & I were sooo buggered too after the long weekend of info. Lucky him can rest at home and don't have to work. I'm walking around like zombie at work today and recon will be so for the next few days. Thank you very Judi & Steve. It was a freezing but good weekend. :D It's also great to meet everyone and their dogs.
  2. I've received it. Thanks heaps. I'm now heading off, see u all soon!
  3. I also had my consult this morning. It was great. I'll also be there for all 3 days with Tsar, but I haven't received the info sheet yet. Can anyone send me a copy?
  4. Unbelievable!!!! They both did sooooo well!!! That is such a clever dog! Amazing!
  5. I give mine big ice block in themorning before I leave for work and he'll have ice water through the day i'll also give frozen chicken frames, wings, necks, feets or other frozen meaty bones, etc. That'll help them cool down internally. Cool mat will work if your's doesn't have the habit in teariing them apart.
  6. Try "satin balls" it seem to work very well with many skinny dogs. Do a search and you'll find a few different recipes.
  7. I just use a eyebrow tweezer to plug Manman's ears. He never like it and will whin a bit, just have to be firm and quick. Start by plugging a little at a time and do it in seperate sessions. It's always hard and painful when first starting, it won't hurt as much with small amount of hair and swop ears frequently instead of finishing one ear first. Once they're all clear, it'll be a lot easier to maintain them.
  8. I'm coming with Tsar too!! I've also just used internet transfer, I've put my surmane as the reference and replied to the email to you know the time and date, hope you receive it.
  9. We've been to Diamond twice, as it was the only one we knew, the pool is really not clean and you can see the kennels in very bad shaped too, poos all over the ground, doesn't seem like they clean it at all. Tsar was thrown in to the pool by the owner of Diamond and he was traumatised and refuse to swim again and is now very scare of water.
  10. My thoughts are with you. Poor Basil, sure he is at peace now.
  11. Manman looovess carrot, whe he gets a whole raw carrot, he'll hold it upright with his front paws and eats it like a rabbit. He is one of those dogs that will eat anything and everything, except liver! :D Yes, even everyone's favorite dried liver, nope, doesn't like it. :D He has most vegies & fruits very often. Tsar is a meaty dog and wouldn't touch any fruits or veges at all. Even I tried feeding 'home made BARF", nope, wouldn't touch his food with the smell of them. ;)
  12. I emailed Lynda last Sat and provided my mob, but hasn't hear back from her. :D
  13. I do add ACV to their water and quite a big dash they have no choice but drink it when thirsty but I still have yellow burnt grass . Maybe I'll try the bi-crab soda too.
  14. I also emailed them couple of days ago enquiring the EPS after reading the whole thread!! but haven't heard back from them, hopefully will speak to Lynda in the next couple of days.
  15. I've just checked my leaflet from both Capstar & Advantix. Advantix does mention that it is safe for use on pregnant and lactating bitches but I couldn't see anything mention on Capstar. Here is Capstar's customer assistance toll free no. 1800 633 768, you can call them and check it out. I normally also add ACV to their water and garlic to their food for additional prevention.
  16. Manman had a tumor on his front right leg last year and we were refered to Southern Animal Referral Centre at Highett. It costed $500 for CT and radio therapy cost is approx. $5000. I'm not sure if they charge by per scan or area, I suggest that you call and check. SARC however is not regular vet and needs referral, but sure you can give them a call first. They're very helpful. http://www.sarc.com.au/
  17. Thanks InpectorRex, I received it. Hi everyone, I just like to clarify that I didn't know from before this topic that Xlylitol is toxic to dogs and so I would not recommend it to anyone's dog anymore. Only thought it may be an option for Kuga as there seem very little alternative for him and his teeth and especially that Manman has been brushed so regularly for the last 11.5 years and didn't show any signs of being toxicated. So what can we do for Kuga? Question: Please correct me if I'm wrong again. I heard that people in the olden days (and I meant in Asia) before toothpaste was invented, they use salt to brush their teeth and htey have very clean and white teeth. Would that be an option? I know dogs are not meant to comsume salt, but if it's use only a little to bursh his teeth, would that help?
  18. What!!! You only bought the tooth mouse for $18!!! Can u pls let me know where you buy it from? I need to start looking around! I've checked the ingredient and it does contain Xlylitol!! I didn't know it's toxic for dogs. But Manman is almost 12 years old and I had been brushing his teeth regularly since he is a puppy. I was using children's toothpaste before the tooth mouse. I will check it out on line when my tube ran out. or even ask around with different dentist to get a better price. :p the same when I brush Tsar's teeth, even my hand will end up in his mouth. I'll have to give my hands, up to my wrist a good wash after that!! and he certainly uses more tooth mouse compare to me and Manman.
  19. I use my electric toothbrush to brush their teeth weekly or fortnightly, they have their own toothbrush head and I use tooth mousse instead of toothpaste. Tooth mouse is a highly reccomended by dentists to protect teeth. I have sentitive teeth and had been using it for more then a year now and rarely felt the sensitivity. It is quite expensive, approx $38 and only weighs 40g (35ml) but worth the money. You don't need to squeese a lot like tooth paste, just a little thin layer each time. It can only be purchase from the dentist (that's what my dentist said and I also couldn't find it in any pharmacist). If you can't brush his teeth, you can just apply a thing layer of the tooth mouse over his teeth for protection. I also find it easier to use an electric tooth brush compare to the manual ones for the dogs and also found that the teeth get brushed more especially the inside.
  20. I normally won't feed Tsar the night before and will boil & dice some chicken breast meat and it work very well. Cut up pig ears work extremely well too and this is the only treat to make him go through the tunnel. ;)
  21. It look pretty nasty to me but not sure if it's cancer lumps. Manman's cancer lump was very different to this one. I would suggest to get another vet or 2 to double and triple check or best get a referral to a cancer specialist to confirm. If you're in Melbourne, I can give you the details of a specialist in dog cancer that we went and ask your vet to refer you to them.
  22. I've also emailed Steve. Would be very interested in taking Tsar there, we really need it!
  23. Glad that you're safe & sound. Onyx & Pokey are such brave & good dogs. Can't wait to give Onyx a big hug and heaps of treats.
