What a shame... I thought this thread was 8 pages of information but it turns out it's 8 pages of jokes (which unfortunately I didn't find funny...*sigh*). It's nice to hear from someone who puts a lot of effort and time into feeding their animals...but it would be so much nicer if that same person would be willing to take advice from people around them. Aussie Stafford I hope you stay around DOL and realise that not everyone here is a meanie who is out to get you. There is a wealth of info here (and some funny stuff too) and some great doggy-wise people as well. I wouldn't think anyone would need permission to post the url of a website. Ditto to that.

I worm my dogs regularly anyway...so I wouldn't worry about worms. Not sure about the legalities of breeding your own food.

I need help getting frozen chow for my dogs, and Myella is near impossible to contact. Has anyone got any up to date contact details for them? Otherwise has anyone found any new suppliers for pet meat? I would LOVE to feed whole rabbit...but can't find a decent CHEAP supplier... If I was mates with a farmer who went shooting pest rabbits on his property, I would be a happy camper!

Frustrating isn't it? My dogs are the same. Gutses with food but as soon as I've wrapped a bit of ham around a tablet...or poked it into cheese or something...they get suspicious and drop the food out of their mouth onto the ground to pick around the food. Usually I have to excite them and drop food treats into their mouths and then interchange one that's got a tablet wrapped up. That tends to work. Or when I'm feeding my pet mince...shove it right in the middle of that. ETA: Just realised people have suggested the same thing.

It's scary when people don't realise that ticks can be EVERYWHERE! Someone called me wanting to adopt a foster after their loved pet of 7 years died after a tick bite in around April - May...in Hunters Hill in Sydney! Not near bush or in summer!!

WHAT????? Are you guys serious?? Are you saying....that people who show and groom (and know what they are doing!) sit there and literally go over their entire dog and pull out their hair?!!!!! *is amazed* How LONG does that take?? Wha??? I think I need to google and do more research. I have never heard of this before. Crazy!!! :rolleyes:

How on earth do you do it to such a short coat!!!??? And how did you get the paw prints? *gets excited* Must tell and share secrets!! How long did the paws last? Did they smudge?

(Have PMd you) My lot get a raw meat diet - can't say BARF officially as I haven't researched what amounts of what they need specifically - but as close to as I can manage atm. (Pet mince from the butcher - liver/heart/beef/lamb/whatever good stuff they put in, chicken carcasses/necks/wings, heart, liver, and lots and lots of bones. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=136250&hl= ) And they get a little bit of kibble to supplement it. Have heard of using sardines mixed with food once a week to help...but I was thinking more short term, quick fixes for making a dog look pretty if they come in looking a bit 'worse for wear'. Thanks for the advice though!! I haven't got myself a shedding tool yet.. I know the blade thingies... Is that better to use than say a furminator? When I was washing dogs at my old work I only ever used one shampoo solution...is this because they were cutting corners? Or because you can get a 2in1 product? What's the secret?
