  1. We too use Sentinel Spectrum and avoid Drontal like the Plague
  2. Big hugs coming your way sweetie He waited for his Mum to come home and then set about starting his Journey to the Bridge. It is never easy
  3. Thanks folks. This forum is so comforting
  4. It is hard Trace, I know exactly what you are going through. Today would have been our beloved Collie"Maggie's" 9th Birthday  Colleen
  5. Our dearest Rough Collie "Maggie"( Aust Ch Colbeau Go Get Em Legal) Today we should have been celebrating your 9th Birthday together  however God needed you more and took you under his Wings on the 15th July 2005, just before your 8th Birthday. You have left such a void in our hearts Miss Maggie. We loved you so much. Have a great day at the Rainbow Bridge Sweetie. Forever in our hearts and minds Colleen, "Poppy"(Bill) and your little "sister" "Phoebe " XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  6. Also try warming her food in the microwave for 10 seconds or so. Mine won't eat food cold out of the fridge and neither would I. I would be asking Vet for full bloods to be done- checking enzyme levels etc and also give her teeth and gums a good check out too. Something is a miss and you will have to be insistent with the Vet to get answers
  7. That is great news There is a Vet in NSW that is also a Homeopathic Vet and very good, they are at Russell Lea and their website is naturalvet.com.au( Dr Barb Fogure(sp?) and Dr Sue Hunter) Drop them an email and they will get back to you very promptly. I have used them a couple of times and because they are Conventional Vets they know what you are on about.
  8. Sometimes a change of environment will upset a puppy but if Puppy has had that much diarrhoea in such a short time I would get the Puppy to the Vet asap , even if it is only to put your mind at rest. Young puppies dehydrate very quickly . I know it sounds gross but if you can take some of the Poop with you to the Vet it will help the Vet with a diagnosis.
  9. Has your Vet referred you on to an internal Medicine Specialist for possible endoscopy? That would be what I would want done as I lost my beautiful Rough Collie( Aust Champ) to Inflammatory Bowel Disease just on a year ago and the symptons are very much what you are describing here. You have Murdoch Uni over there?
  10. I agree with Erny here totally, this is not a normal thing to happen on a regular basis. I would err on the side of caution and go for a total Vet Check I lost my beloved Rough Collie "Maggie" this time last year to Inflammatroy Bowel Disease and one of the very first symptoms was the throwing up of yellow bile and it took me a long time to make him look past the "Oh but she is probably hungry stage". Maggie was just under 8 yrs of age.
  11. and if you can take a poop sample with you, it may help with a correct diagnosis
  12. I am glad the makes of JointGuard are using the glucosamine hydrochloride, it affirms what my Vet tells her clients( she lectures at the Uni. Vet School).
  13. My Vet, who is also a Masters in Chiro, recommends Glucosamine Hydrochloride over the Glucosamine Sulfate as it is less likely to cause upset tummies. As for dosage she recommends 500mg a day for everyday use , of course this dose would increase if there was a health issue being treated.
  14. I sit here typing this with your card with the picture of Kal on it. She was a beautiful girl and you gave her the most precious gift- peace and freedom from suffering. RIP Kal, run free Colleen,Bill and "Phoebe" XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  15. So sorry ISH Zac will be watching over you from the Bridge
  16. Today is tough for you but remember the great times you and Kal have had ,those memories will live on with you forever. Colleen and Co
  17. You know my phome numvers if you need to cry with someone tomorrow. Colleen
  18. Thanks one and all. Maggie was such a special dog.
  19. Today 15th July 2006 is 1 year that our beautiful Rough Collie "Maggie" aka Australian Champion Colbeau Go Get Em Legal left us for the Rainbow Bridge at the tender age of 7.5 years . "Maggie" you have left such a huge void in our hearts and our home. You were a one in a million dog. Loved by all who knew you, and a lot of people did know you and your beautiful loving ways. We think of you all the time and miss having your "Maggie cuddles". We had to give you your Wings Sweetheart as we could not bear to see you suffer, you did not deserve that. There was nothing more we or the Vets could do. You are now pain free at the Rainbow Bridge , reunited with your "Brodie" aka Nauglamir Seabrooke CDX and your "Nanna" ( our Mum/wife) who you helped us look after when she was dying by visiting her in hospital and then when she came home for us to care for by laying by her bed watching over her. Your little "sister" "Phoebe" misses you too , especially of a night as she used to snuggle into you on the bed. One day Sweetheart we will all be together. Love Colleen, "Poppy"(Bill) and "Phoebe" aka Kazjs Petticoats Showin XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  20. Praying for Ollie Dog Jodie Colleen
  21. Has your Vet mentioned a condition called Atopic Dermatitis/Atopy? If not I would ask that it be considered. It is an allergic condition. Look it up on Google Having had a pup with it 2 years ago what you are describing is so indicative of it.
  22. I feed the Eagle Pack Holistic Select Duck and oatmeal. My Rough Collie has been on it for 2mths now and her condition is terrific and beautiful glossy coat. She gets that plus a chicken carcass every day so it does work out quite economical for me to buy the EP. The Holistis Range does not have all the grains in it
  23. The nasal spray, Bronchshield, has a known side effect of giving an infection to the trachea which results in a hacking type of cough. How do i know this; last year I had mine done with Bronchoshield and within a few days I thought she had KC A trip to the now former Vet and it was explained this is quite a common side effect. Antibiotics, Benadryl and a very low dose of cortisone settled it down No more Bronchoshield for my dogs
  24. we have a few Qualified Animal Homeopaths here in Oz too have a look at www.wholisticanimal.com/
