  1. What about something like this: www.lifegemaustralia.com.au - although would still require cremation
  2. Thanks for the heads up ozjen I've checked out the link... sounds interesting. I'll have to think about which dog to take
  3. Were you at my front door this morning with some "literature"
  4. Wow - talk about buy one get one free :D Best of luck with both your new additions
  5. 2 dogs - outer 'burbs. Soon to be semi-rural/country (still 2 dogs though )
  6. I guess there are alot less horse owners than dog owners who are rate payers (ie. voters)
  7. Link to article with pictures: Linky
  8. Another x-trail fan here :D Although I am considering leasing a car when we move and was looking at the Dodge Nitro (doesn't get very good reviews ) or maybe a Nissan Navara Dual Cab with canopy :D
  9. We went with PetPlan - mainly because of the "life coverage" and also for the Third Party Liability. ETA. Only just signed up, so can't comment on administration / ease of claim.
  10. Depends on what side of the river you are of course But pretty sure VetWest in Hillarys are open until 10.00pm weeknights, Balcatta Vet Hospital is open 24 / 7 and Ocean Keys Veterinary Hospital offers a 24hr emergency service (heard great things about this vet but not used them ). Ordered my pet insurance on Sunday
  11. Thanks for the tick info LR :D I don't want to treat if they aren't a problem so will be vigilant with grooming and keep an eye out for the blighters. We're probably still a couple of months off moving. Will put the house up for sale in the next few weeks - fingers crossed it'll sell quickly I think Jonty will be confused by all the trees to pee on I agree they will both love it. Saw the neighbour out with his four GSD's and they were having a grand time running around his block
  12. Reminds me of the visit we had from the God Squad who came to convert us, but left with details of Jonty's breeder. Turned out he'd owned Rhodesian Ridgebacks before he came on his mission to WA and was having trouble finding a good registered RR breeder (only BYBers). We were more than happy to point him in the right direction
  13. Hi WA'ers Just wondering what the deal is with ticks??? At the moment, I've never really worried about them as the doggies don't go anywhere off lead expect at home, but we are about to move to our property with all manner of things that crawl, jump, fly, hop and walk and I'm wondering if the doggies will need tick preventative / prevention and if so what BTW lovely property mirawee
  14. Found this in the Pet Plan PDS in the "Definitions" section: Select Breeds means Bandog, Boerboel, Beauceron, Bernese Mountain Dog, All Bulldogs (i.e English, American, Australian, Miniature), Bull Arab, Deerhound, Dogue de Bordeaux, Estrela Mountain Dog, Great Dane, Irish Wolfhound, Leonberger, All Mastiff Breeds, Newfoundland, Old English Sheepdog, Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Rottweiler, Shar Pei, St Bernard or any crosses of these breeds. Thank you couldn't see for looking
  15. Does anyone know what the "Selected Breeds" are as mentioned in the Pet Plan PDS??? I can't seem to find anything on the website listing what these are. At the moment I'm swaying towards Pet Insurance Australia
  16. I wish I'd seen this thread earlier. It has been stinking hot in WA - I don't remember when it was last so dry and hot - blergh But still a long summer to go through so might have to place an order on payday on a couple of polar pads
  17. If you've had new turf laid, pretty sure you can get an exemption in certain circumstances: Water Corp. Exemptions We gave up on the grass in our dog area, and are going with a crushed gravel instead. By the way, what a big beautiful tree :D nice and shady to relax under

Earl is gorgeous - you are lucky KelpieHoundMum.... How are you finding him son far??? Have you had hounds before?? How does he compare to kelpies???
  19. :D that's quite a tale Ms Genki I've had one go under here (colorbond fence) but none over - yet We would prefer something with a roof, and a floor, and a SAS trained security detail I might try some of the rural/farm supply places near our block and see what they can offer
