I saw Faye today and gave her yhe biggest hug. So much pain in her eyes but she is doing ok. Whilst the valley burnt around them they huddled under a wet blanket and somehow survived the firestorm. It was a miracle. If you PM me I can get you in touch They will go on and get back in to GSPs.

We lived next door to Mal and Faye before we moved. RIP you special litte darlings. They have lost everything including their horses.

that was me BB, they did it to Squid and were unaware of anasthetic guidelines for Belgians. Same with greys and whippets. Massive need to know for owners. I didnt know and he almost died and limited recovery in 3 days. Full recovery in 6. It was dreadful

Were you intending on adding fresh raw meat to his kibble? I am sure they know not to feed both together, but in seperate meals. People feed what they can afford at the end of the day. I wish more people were as focused on what chemical cocktails they put in their own mouths in the first instance, creating better moods and a more active lifestyle for their whole family including their dogs. being too fussy and anal about dog food causes a fusspot dog who cant tolerate a broader range of foods. As with everything in life, balance is the key to optimum health in both animal and human. Elliot has been on mid range kibble with a bit of this and that fresh, since bonnie went crook. he will be 17 mid year and is a goldie. All dogs are different and have different flora in their guts what some cope with, others wont.

You'd be hard pressed to find a Breeder of Groenendael's or Tervueren's in Australia that remove front dews. I can't comment on the other two varieties as I have not noticed what they do but the rescues I've had come through my doors have not had theirs removed either. I remove rear dews but don't bother with front ones. The rear dews can be easily damaged but the front ones are well protected on a Belgian. I've not heard of a Belgian injuring their front dews and in all my years in the breed (almost 9) I've not had any problems with them. I find that mine use their front dews when chewing on bones. I don't have a problem with them at all but obviously it depends on the breed and the individual dog. Or the individual owner. Squiddy would have been lost without his. He never jumped up on us so it wasnt a personal issue for me. I'd rather remove the behaviour than the claws personally.

I've found with Ivy if she doesn't have Cal Nat every second/third day then it is like starting her fresh on the food .. if she gets her normal amount and hasn't had any for about four days she gets the runs. Being a rich food its something you must keep in the dogs routine. Not a kibble you can feed every now and then. So I'm giving it to her every second day now. Her poops are fantastic. Her coat gleans in the sunshine :rolleyes: whatcha feeding on the other days BB? Wasnt she going really with it daily?

:D Poor darling. Sounds Like something has altered his CNS wether it be toxic ingestion, seizure or even stroke. I have had to do so much research on this stuff over Elliots seizure, he was really wierd afterward, barking out of control, bizzare gait, vomit, then a few hours later ok. Still took him to the vet though. best of luck for Bruno

June here ... After wasting a shit load of money on Revolution I wouldn't use a spoton again on Ivy .. unless seriously required. Would much rather use essentials oils and a good flea wash. Rev never worked on Ivy, seemed to make her more itchy and act quite strange. Too many chemicals for my likings!! I've also used a spoton on my kitten before and she licked around and got a tiny amount, wow she wasn't happy. foaming at the mouth for about two hours. to the earth worms and worm farms.

beautiful photos. I still burst in to tears over Squid taken way before his time, that was 18 months ago. Your lucky to have such wonderful pictures, they really show how much you loved him, and he sure looks like he knew how much he was loved. hope you will be ok.
