  1. 2 puppy pens will be up for grabs in the morning. Pick up from KCC park or NE Melbourne, or possibly Kepala. No postage. Too late to start. Hopefully more donations will come in. This is an urgent case.
  2. I have been investigating over the last few weeks for an Agility club, I wouldnt start that side of things for another 6 months or so but want to do Obedience as of Jan. Both myself and husband will have to do it in turns. Has anyone had anythiing to do with Waringal? I have seen them train at the Expos.
  3. I'm scared of Rotties, I'm scared of Rotties falling into the hands of Irresponsible owners who know nothing about them and keep them on a chain and dump them at the pound when they can't handle them. If this dog bites someone, the whole breed gets the blame. I feel very sorry for you, to judge a breed on the actions of three individuals. :D she can feel what she likes, I cant stand heaps of breeds.
  4. we are not a multi cultral area, but I notice the well preened glamour pusses with kids dressed in clothes like baby GAP like to pull the cats bum, in shopping aeas, and parks. I think it happens within any culture or area.
  5. so sorry, that is terrible . Hope you will be ok. RIP Fraser. It doesnt matter how long they have lived with you its still hurts the same.
  6. Beautiful pics. How traumatic for you all. So sorry. Please take care of yourselves. RIP beautiful Bella.
  7. So very sorry. Rest in peace beautiful Jess. Hope you will be ok.
  8. I cant stop reading this. I keep coming back on here to check the words, and read them over and over.
  9. Thanks again for the support. His dinner time has passed and I feel so empty. Its the end of an era. Goodnight forever Boofa. Thanks for giving us so many years. our rights must have definately outweighed our wrongs. Love you old man.
  10. Ellot died in my arms just after 12pm. Thankyou for your support and beautiful words. It means the world.
  11. so sorry about your cat popsicle. Looks like a lovely boy.
  12. Thanks, I just feel sick about intervention when he already peacefully dying. I will call that number in the morning SS. I have had other animals PTS as I knew I was relieveing their pain including Squiddy, but Elliot seems at peace. Whos pain am I trying to take away by intervention? I have battled this all day. We have lots of vets around here, and had chosen one for this morning, but why? . He is enjoying a stroke of the head every now and then, he cant see or hear now at all. I think all senses have shut down besides feeling. I hope he goes tonight. The thought of a needle at this peaceful stage is making me feel more distressed, but if I think he is suffering in any way I will do the fair and right thing.
  13. Thanks everyone again, what a crap day. He is still here, but I think he will pass tonight. If not we will most likely take him somewhere tomorrow. He is comfortable and happy on his bed, but hasnt really moved all day except for a little drink earlier. I desperately want him to go at home in his sleep, and I know he wants to go to. He gave me the look just before, then dropped his head back down.
  14. Thanks for the kind words. Its times like these you wish they could understand english like us, but thats why we love them so much because a simple pat with the hand and a 'good boy' means the world every single time. Nothings complicated, nothing is BS. I wish that was all it took to comfort one of us in times of need.
  15. still enjoying a dip With his best mates at Strathewen. Squid, and Jyp. Both at the Rainbow wagging.
  16. Havent been able to talk, or post about it til now. Elliot is dying. Depending on his comfort level tomorrow, we will asses intervention. Poor old man. 17 years old and never ever been sick, except for the seizure a while back. I feel sick. ETA Elliot was PTS in my arms shortly after 12pm today.
  17. Surely a kennel could come up with something better than Chum. I'd be pretty pissed if I was paying good money for my dog to eat crap in a can. Eventhe thought of cleaning up after chum fed dogs is repulsive. Eew! If I had a difficult eater (which I don't ) I would supply my own food, rather than it eat Chum <<....shudder. We use Pro Plan or Eagle pack dry for the boarders at work and rarely get a refusal. A smidgeon of Natures gift or Eaglepack canned soon tempts those that are a problem. And when they won't eat natures gift either? Then they got Chum...the majority of those dogs were eating at home too. This is not what the majority of dogs got - maybe 1 dog a month that had issues and wouldn't eat. Some dogs even came in with their own PAL or Chum...And they hardly got a whole can of it - just a spoonful mixed in with good quality kibble so they would eat that. I wasn't the one paying the bills for food, what I would have done differently food wise I didn't have the bosses permission for...again another reason I dont work there anymore. So, you fed something other than what the owners requested? Went to the trouble of bringing in a specific dog food, but you changed it because YOU think its crap? Don't know why my reply disappeared when I posted...but here it is again... The owners that bought in tinned food (3 regulars) did so because they got the food at home and wanted it mixed in with the dry food the kennel provided. I assured them all the time that there was tinned food on hand that would be provided at no extra cost but they liked to bring in their own. I would never give a dog an entire tin of chum - it would go straight through them. Happy Squid... no, nice back pedal.

  21. I am so sorry. What a stunning girl. I hope you will all be ok, at least you know she was happy with you and she died doing what she loved So sorry Goodbye Ruby
  22. These dogs are not generally aloof. You get back what you put in. belgians are a fantastic breed.
  23. So sorry, please look after yourself through this time. Please dont lay blame, Ive done that before and all it does is ad more heartache to the situation as it cant be changed. Every animal is unpredictable in different situations and with different leaders. I hope you can all get to a point where you can grieve and share wonderful stories together without anger or ill feeling. It is a hard road ahead for you, please embrace your supports as you will definately need them at some point. Sorry. Rip little Babe
