  1. got your pm- we'll be there I assume 2. sorry maybe my brain is fried but i dont undestand what you mean here? dont worry B and S, she never makes any sense @Bilbo :D I think she was wondering if you were both coming as I just spoke to her about some of the finer details of operation Houdini
  2. Thanks, we really need to brace ourselves for a not so good outcome IF he is caught. It may not be the fairytale ending we hope for, that aside its worth the effort regardless. Not long ago we picked up a very strange boy with very strange behaviours. A huge amount of work $$$ and energy was put in to him. He is now the love of someones life, so never say never
  3. no, but does everyone have Bilbos Mobile, as she will be there before me. I think we should meet in Allied Dve, in front of the truck depot. For a walk and plan of attack. If you are late, just ring Bilbo and one of us can return to collect late arrivals. Time is money though with this company, so hopefully we can all get there within a half hour slot. THanks sooooo much for this. I feel useless this week. I think the truck depot is actually in barrie road. correct me if I am wrong sorry mate, brain fart
  4. thats great, it is such a basic design that I am sure similar models are just as effective :D

  6. I think they are copy ones MM, as someone said above you can get the real deal on ebay in large for under $20. Thanks for sharing!!
  7. thankyou Apparently Arawyn (Fans OH) will hurt himself, maybe we shold book st johns ambos.
  8. heard about that (in a nice way) Bilbo will be sitting my kids, in the car! (not sitting on)
  9. Sorry to be a downer but given where he is likely to end up, can I suggest some publicity wouldn't go astray? He's won't need rehab unless he's released from the pound. If we cant catch him Saturday, we will most like likely go down the sedative track requiring medication, vets and per hour professional monitor and capture fees. What type of publicity? Donations or capture or lost dog? Signs are up. Our aim is to remove the dog from danger regardless of the outcome. It is no life for a dog, neither is a missed bullet. We are very aware of what may happen, and whatever happens will be in the best interests of the dog.
  10. WOW Thankyou so much, lets hope there is a good outcome. oh fantastic! i would have been on this thread when it started if i had thought i had access to it haha - nice going confusing it with off topic! great news that this boy will be 'rescued' and hopefully his owners can be found! thanks!!! :) :D   and I thought I was a computer doof
  11. :p ;) WOW Thankyou so much, lets hope there is a good outcome.
  12. ??? 4 individual Shep reports, regardless of the breed we will follow through. that was an offer to foster wasnt it?
  13. We wont know anymore until Sat arvo, but will update asap. Thanks.
  14. Thanks so much for the support, we really appreciate it Its certainly keeping us going.
  15. yes, I spoke in depth to a professional, quite sucessful however there have been cases where they wander off and wake up in undesirable locations and put themselves at risk. We will try the man catch Sats, and that option may be stage 2 if we can get someone to put food near his Den every night for a few days. We will then need a professional to come out for a half day, monitor and catch.
  16. We need some people to assist a professional in helping us contain a WGSD on the run. Please let me know if you can help, you wont be in direct contact with the dog. We have 4 so far. Cheers.
  17. You're also going to need a method of control, containment and transport once the dog is caught. A size large wire dog crate OR a ute or wagon with a custom built cage spring to mind. He's going to need to be catchpoled into the containment and removed similarly at the pound. Fingers crossed he cooperates once caught. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks PF, that is sorted, as is the after bit. We will be using an impound vehicle (non authority and custom dog trailor). To the vet, then the pound.
  18. For those who havent read the whole thread, the alternative to us stepping in will be euthanasia by the authorities, infact that has been suggested by the professionals also as the last resort.
  19. Thanks mate. Just spoke to someone who will lend us a cage trap for nothing, but is $110 huge discount to assess the situation (covered). He said the cage trap will need to be set up for 3 weeks and turned in to a den, an extension of the existing den. He says its rarely sucessful and only have one chance. He said it took 12 months to catch the last dog as they are so clever and know every trick in the book once they are feral. If we use the trap, someone will have to put food in it every night for 3 weeks, it will need to be chained and padlocked and if its nicked we will have to replace it at a cost of $400. He suggested that confinement and noosing is the best option, as the original catcher stated. I am feeling we have bitten off more than we can chew , however we need to make a few attempts to the best of our ability. We are not professional dog catchers, and after speaking to a few it is a VERY difficult process.
  20. UPDATE: Just spoke with the catcher who just went out and observed him. He thinks he was a guard dog attached to a closed down factory. He thinks the dog has been there for at least 1 month due to his tracks and behaviour The dog has plenty of weight on him so has an ongoing food source. (bins) He is unable to use a soft paw trap due to the risk of catching someone elses animal He has observed his circle and can see a way to noose him through a hole he uses on his path. He and a colleague will attempt to catch him on Saturday He will require at least 4 other people to assist in a noose catch. He has said a cage trap will not work as he is too clever and cunning ( we may pursue this system though) We are asking for some volunteers at assist on Saturday at 12pm. We need 4-6 fit adults. I will be there but will have 3 little girls with me so will be unable to leave my car. I am unable at this stage to get a sitter. Bilbo has a condition that prevents her from being active. COuld anyone please assist us with this please?
  21. did you read the whole thread in the end? You said you hadnt read it.
  22. I took out my treats which have a very good reputation & he was giving me the big miss. This boy isn't interested in people regardless of whether they've got food or not. On the 3 occasions I saw him, he was in pretty good nick, so I knew he was doing OK. And he certainly wasn't frightened of me. Just looked up when he saw me & sauntered up the back to wait until we left. In any event, further discussion along these lines may be moot if Mark can get him in with his Staffy, so let's see what happens when he reports in. I'd rather leave it to a professional to get this bloke in. Absolutely. There is a lot going on behind the scenes Krislin, and everyone is working their arses off. You are the only one who has questioned our rescue attempt.
