Interesting, his teeth arent crash hot so perhaps room temp may be better?? Will be forwarding all these points. Thanks.

Was after some info on dogs who don't like to drink much. Would like some info on salt or electrolyte supplements. This dog had a vet test done and was dehydrated even though there is always clean fresh water available. It has been observed that he hardly touches his drink bowl. Urine sample will be taken again in a few months. Thoughts? Thanks.

Very Reactive Dog After Being Attacked.
~Shepherd~ replied to mumsy's topic in General Dog Discussion
You need to get your confidence back too. Good luck and in the meantime dont smooch over him when he is displaying the nervous behaviour. Erny has done some training with one of our nervous rescue dogs. The dog is progressing well. -
Thats is just beautiful, what gorgeous characters! That vid is too cute. I also dont advocate for the patting of ownerless dogs but it seems the dogs were trying to pat you first. Praying they dont tether with a check chain. I Hate dogs on utes

Are you in contact with the breeder at all?
-
If she has a great temperament and passes all the health tests then why not have a litter? If the breeder approves the mating and will offer you full support and you register the pups, it will be a great experience for you.

Ever Snuck The Dog Into A Motel?
~Shepherd~ replied to Lady Flying Furball's topic in General Dog Discussion
Im more concerned about the huge amounts of human discharge I sleep on if we get a room. Poor Matty form DOL copped a share of human skin flake crustys and pubes on her bed, changed room and suprise there was more. I think they should ban sex on the beds. -
Same thing with Doctors and Specialists. My daughters Specialist wanted to cut out her arse and move it at 3 months of age. Went to another and it turned out she was lactose intolerant. Always get a 2nd opinion with surgery and do your research on the condition so you arrive loaded with questions.

Imagine how the poor owner is feeling, feeling like she has made poor decisions etc. Poor woman, I bet she is beside herself.

AL what have you actively done about this pussy cat? Surely it didnt hold you up at the door of your house? We had one hanging around for a while and unfortunately my WGSD and Whippet dont have issues with cats so I had to use my human leadership and deter it. I blasted it with the hose on the first instance, 2nd I hissed and chucked the kids ball at it. It has never wandered on my boundary again. Its not rocket science to scare off a cat.

Way too strong for a 10 year old to walk though I reckon Oakway.. Probably a bit big for one to carry too. My (just) 5 year old walks our Whippet when she has her weekend exploring walk with Dad. Dad walks the WGSD and the 5 year old has control of the Whippet unless they are walking along a very busy road or in an area where there may be off-lead dogs. The dog has be trained to heel and not leave the side of whoever is walking her and has been trained to ignore passing dogs. She gets dressed up, plays flat out with the WGSD who is also a bitch and is as gentle as a lamb with my baby and toddler. She has experienced 2 newborns. She is undersized as a Whippet, but not much. My only complaint is that she hogs the wall heater or ducts in the family room.

Approx Cost Of Removing A Male Dogs Wholeness
~Shepherd~ replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
My vet of 15 years for 30kgs is around $180 or less for a male. They also do our rescue WGSDS for $110. It is an expensive area where they are located. In surrounding areas there seems to be a $150-$200 difference. $300 is excessive, no wonder there are so many undesexed dogs. Another vet I sometimes use has a discount desexing day. Bitches 30kg + are $220. Certainly not a cheap area or cutting corners. The vets at these practices have been the same owners for at least 15 years. One of them also offers payment plans on very expensive bills. Its not a matter of getting what you pay for. There are no 'bulk billed discount vets'. A procedure is a procedure. Unless you have heard terrible things about a particular place why not find what you can afford? If the clinic was that bad it wouldn't be a business would it? -

beat me. keep the diet simple too for the next 3 months. Could take that long for the gut to get back to normal. -
Really Worried About Rover :( Healing Vibes Needed
~Shepherd~ replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
If it is a gut bug, I'd suggest you get some form of probiotics in his guts to try and build back up his enyme level especially if it has happened before. More chance of gut and digestive related issues popping up down the track if the balance remains out for too long. Good luck, glad he is home. -
Oh god I am so sorry this has happened. I too would be beside myself not knowing, but knowing. Sending as much strength as I can to you all for the coming days. I dont know how you are going to fill your time. Keep focusing on your kids and try not to get too emotional in front of them. I dont know how I would manage What an awful situation. So sorry :D

I don't have an issue with those who can not spell, just the words Advice Advise, every day, every forum. Thats all. I cant spell so I use a spell check (sometimes).

Sometimes incorrect spelling can be a blessing Ive been saying it over in my tired head and I keep coming up with something inappropriate. Save me from my disturbed thoughts please :D az al sorry az......... as....... al...... pronounced the same as ....... as dont worry ive been accused of being an ass, n many other colourful terms anyway sooo whatever u like is probably appropriate anyway I love names like that, leaving interpretation open to the imagination

thought it safer to report myself before I am perceived as being a bitchy bully lol.

Oh come on now, it was about the advice advise thing, not intended to be nasty at all. They are words that pop up every single day in every forum. No different to the annoying oodle threads. Sorry you feel so sensitive about it, as hurting peoples feelings was not my intention and if you are really hurt I apologise. I suppose everyone has a different view on things.

She looks like your typical dog person Goes to show you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
