My Puppy Is Getting Desexed Today
Paganman replied to macka's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My girl went in at 8.30 in the morning and came out at 4.30 the same day she was ok no problems -
It might be an allergey to something

I reckon you feed them their food and if they dont eat it you take it away and dont feed them anything til next time. Its easy to make some dogs fussy eaters just by giving them what they like I mean why eat kibble if mum gives me roast chicken. The more you chop and change the fussier theyll get coz they know if they dont eat one thing mumll give me something else. My dogs eat what theyre given but theyre pigs and will eat anything that stands still long enough

I read about this on DOL and told a mate of mine about it he doesnt want the dog permanently desexed but his wife does so they thought theyd compromise and get the inplant put in and see how it goes. Anyways they rang their vet and they say they dont do it they only approve of surgical castration. So I rang my vet and they said exactly the same thing, they dont approve of it and its not in general use in the veterinary community in Australia. They only do surgical desexing because its permanent and the inplants are just a tempory measure. They were quite rude about it they say that all dogs should be permanently desexed. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yeah Im not arguing about that isiss it is good value but only if your gonna use it.I wouldnt of used all the gold plan and the bronze would of been perfect but I was discouraged from taking the the bronze plan and they tried to push me into the gold and thats what I didnt like. This is definately my last post on this topic so no more from me now I reckon the lady can make up her own mind and I wish her luck with her dog.

Wasnt like that at all haven I spend plenty of money on my dogs and I wouldnt of begrudged $500 but it wasnt worth it for me to join the gold plan. Having said that there was lots of families there with two or three kids and a new puppy and they were being told to join the gold plan to, Im single own a house and nearly all my wages is disposable income if I want it to be but a family with kids might find $500 a lot of money. I didnt like the way we were all pressured to join the gold plan,I was real interested in the bronze and I was told that oh yeah bronze is a good plan but once you reach bronze standard you wont be able to go any farther and youll have to pay heaps more to join the next plan (I think it was silver) so your far better off paying out for the gold now coz itll be cheaper in the long run and if you cant afford it up front weve got a payment plan. The guy there really gave us the hard sell and made me think they were more interested in raking the money in than helping people with their dogs and getting them joined up in a suitable plan that suits them. This was the way I felt so I didnt join I wouldnt of made use of the gold coz I knew I wouldnt get that far and bronze would of been perfect for me but the guy running the session put me right off. So Im not having a go just telling my impressions and if your gonna run 1 day intros first impressions are important arent they even if you dont agree with them. This is going ot so I wont be making anymore posts about this but wanted to let the lady know what I thought when I went to ADT. As I said no offence meant and nothing personal.
-
Yeah fair enough haven but you work for ADT dont you or you used to I remember you or someone mentioning it when I went there a while back. So of course your gonna support them and I dont blame you for that but it also means that you dont have like an umbiased opinion. No offence meant.

I went to Boronia ADT a few years back and they tried to get me to join the gold program and its bloody expensive. Theyve even got payment plans for people who carnt afford to pay in one go and it ends up costing twice as much. Theyve got other programs but they hard sell the gold I couldnt believe how hard they tried to push their programs they were worse than real estate salesmen. I didnt know they had kennels and did in house stuff maybe its a new thing anyway it stands to reason theyd push the in house training as well. I found them way to pushy and didnt join.

In the stafford thread he was trying to sell them, told everyone they were up for grabs, his words not mine, he even had them for sale in his signature. Then when we found out he was a BYB he said they were all sold to people he knew and this was only like a day later. He says the first litter was an accident coz he didnt get round to desexing her and then he has a second litter straight after the first one on her very next heat  So many different stories

Sophie Won't Come To Be Picked Up.
Paganman replied to moggy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Have you got kids if you have theres a good chance theyve picked her up wrong and maybe hurt her Im not being mean or nothing but kids often dont know how to pick up dogs properly or they do it all the time and the dog gets jack of it. Other than that she maybe doesnt like being picked up period most dogs dont and youve gotta remember theyre not toys or babies to be picked up and carried round. My dogs are a bit bigger than yours but I wouldnt even try to pick them up coz theyd hate it. -
Well on your recomendations I went and got 10kg and one dog wolfed it down and the other one the girl spat it out I'll just put a bit in with her tea tonite and hope she gets used to it. It only cost $10 anyway Thanks everybody :p

My local chicken shop (not Lenards but similer) has started selling chicken pet mince for $1.50 kg or 10 kg for $10. The guy at the shop reckons its just minced frames and chicken off cuts, no liver and no food dye.Has anyone bought pet mince from a chicken shop before?Did your dog like it? I wont buy pet mince from a pet shop but I thoight it should be ok from a chicken shop.

I'd say probably not, most dogs get road sense if and when theyre hit by a car if they survive chances are theyll not go neara car again. IMO its the responsibily of the owners to keep the dog contained on their property, theres no excuse for letting a dog get out on the road.
-
Keep her in a crate in your bedroom thatll probably work and you can move her out whens he gets bigger.
-
I reckon your dogs are bored silly and thats why theyre chewing, digging and barking. Id say that they could do with more attention more exercise and more mental stimulation. Theyre both young active dogs and you carnt expect them to stay locked in a yard or a laundry 22 hours a day with nothing to do but just sit around. Boredom makes some dogs noisy and destructive and I reckon thats whats happening here and as they become adults theyll probably get worse if you dont spend more time with them and give them a good run everyday and do some training with them.

I get brisket bones for my two there a better size, my two are only medium size dogs and the marrow bones are to hard.

Yeah interesting post Tony, I reckon your relationships with people are different to when your happy in yourself. How did the dogs changer, were they like calmer more relaxed how exactly?
-
Yeah it will kill them once theyve eaten it theres not much hope for them.Horrible stuff I reckon it should be banned.
-
Hey dont worry hes used it already.Guess hell soon find out.
