what about online dog food sites? You should be able to find one that ships at no or very low cost to your area.... I'm in Tasmania - there is only one, but I used to live rural victoria and had heaps more options. Better prices too!!

I agree a cuz - only squeek toy that lasts with my Labradors & golden retrievers - rubber - solid - and they can't get to the squeek. And I agree with the 'good cuz' - mine took the ears off the bad one!
-
Yep, Peach Malacetic for me too! No problems since things got under control, and started using it regularly as a preventative. Although I do wonder when looking at when I spent my $1000+ on ears if it wasn't also a diet issue as well - was feeding horrible Advance at the time... (did nothing for their coats...)

I've found Green Lipped Mussel (dried mussels (sea food) from NZ) to be very good. Technyflex is the one I'm using. Scientifically proven as well.

Best Shampoo To Use On Your Dogs?
lisazkiwi replied to BMAK's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I like Aloveen as it was the only shampoo I could find that got rid of foul dead fish they had been rolling in! They don't get bathed much though - a couple of times a year - only when have rolled in something really smelly that won't come out with a swim in the ocean! Two Labrador x Golden Retrievers. -
Dandruff, On Eagle Pack Holistic
lisazkiwi replied to poochiemama's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Umm, different things work for different dogs. I can't seem to go past Royal Canin Lab for an awesome coat. Innova Large Breed (LB) - nice coat, but runny stools - 2nd choice when on special! Advance - did HORRIBLE things to their coat. Dry, falling out in hand fulls. I've tried Euk Premium Performance LB, RC LB adult; RC LB Sensitive; Hill Science LB; Proplan Performance; EVO large bites, and some others I can't currently remember... I'm a bit fussy in that l prefer 26% protein (minimum I will do is 24%), which takes out a lot of the Eagle Pack stuff and quite a few others. I also refuse to pay more than a bag of Royal Canin Labrador in price as they do so well on it. -
Wanting To Own More Dogs Than Council Limit Of 2
lisazkiwi replied to heroeswit's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm the same, put the application in, advertised in the paper, inspector came and had a look, and had a permit for 3 labradors. Cost money, but nothing to it. The dogs are well behaved, no barking etc. I'm in Hobart though.. -
There are really two options 1) PetPlan 2) The rest (as all underwritten by Holland). The ones underwritten by Holland can add clauses as they see fit (or potential of $$ disappearing from their profits) every 12 months at policy renewal. PetPlan don't do that. For life. Yes have to pay co-share as get older, but at least that is a known!

Pet Insurance. I would go PetPlan - you will be able to sleep at night. One of my dogs is with them (because I could get him out with no pre existing conditions!). Conditions are covered for life. Yes you have to pay a co-payment as the animal gets older, but it is a known. The other is with one of the other companies. They are all the same as underwritten by Holland. These companies every policy renewal can write whatever clauses they want in. Often cheaper premiums, but for a reason! I found this out the hard way. I'd rather be able to sleep at night around policy renewal time - go PETPLAN!!

Insurance Won't Pay Claim For Skin Condition
lisazkiwi replied to bianca.a's topic in General Dog Discussion
Arh - pet insurance. There are really two options out there. 1) PetPlan 2) the rest (backed by same insurer - Holland?). PetPlan is any condition for life. (you have to pay a % as the animal gets older - but atleast know is covered for life). The others can add clauses as they see fit every 12 months (policy renewal). This throws most people (including me), as I assumed it was like human - once in all good.
