  1. If we've left our gazebo over night, we've dropped it down, taken the roof off and taken home the mat. It sure is going to suck over the June long weekend
  2. I read somewhere (may have been in the dog world) that we weren't allowed to set up before 6am on the day of a show. That's fair enough. I've just phoned CCCQ and asked about the weekends when there are Saturday/Sunday shows at the same ground and have been told that we also aren't allowed to leave gazebo's up for them. That's kinda annoying, especially seeming you are at the same grounds all weekend! What about the winter carnival where there are three days of showing on the same grounds. How frustrating to have to set up and pull down the gazebo every day! I just thought I'd let those who are at Durack this weekend (and in future for all weekend shows) that you won't be allowed to leave your gazebo's up.
  3. Photo from September 2009 at the Beagle National in Adelaide.
  4. I might update too! I took Abby to the Beagle Specialty in Sydney over Easter, packed up the hubby, the two older girls (beagles) and Abby and drove for 14 hours down there. Had an aweful time down there missing all my own things and hurting myself... but to make it all better and worthwhile, Abby took home Baby Puppy In Show. To say I was shocked was an understatment! Trying not to cry and shaking like a leaf I was! Abby didn't know what the hell had happened. And that was after winning her class! I think I was still in shock when we got Baby Puppy in Show because the emotions were at bay! Abby's tally so far: 2 x Baby Puppy in Show 1 x Baby Puppy in Group They are 5.5 months old now, so only two more weeks and she steps up with the big girls! I'll try and get an updated photo at some stage. Here are two photos from the Toowoomba Royal @ 5 months. And the gorgeous face that won her the baby in show at the specialty:
  5. Woohoo!! Go Macey Well done to Sara and Hilary on the outstanding achievements Macey has had over her show career. My only regret is not meeting you before whilst she was in her prime to witness everything that you all say she was. In my training eyes, she's still gorgeous and moves so well for a 6 year old bitch. We can only hope that her progeny follow in her foot steps. They are big shoes to fill! (ETA - I was just looking for my favourite photo of Macey, but I can't find it. I will post some tonight).
  6. Great turn out! We came, but only observed I hope you achieved what you wanted to Serena!
  7. We've got a dog show, and depends on how we go, we might come in. So we aren't a definite.
  8. I has some beagles you can choose from if you like? .. One may not be as trained as the others though...
  9. I'd have to say that it may be marketing, but it's also the truth. 20 cases in the last two weeks out in the western suburbs. Quite a number in the inner city suburbs as well. ETA: That's just the figures from two vet clinics.
  10. Best in Hound Group was a Beagle - Treeview Armed N Dangerous. Runner Up was a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Baby in Group was a beagle. ETA: It took me so long to reply, you had already posted it! Whoops.
  11. We were at the Toowoomba Royal today and there were people walking everywhere, one of my girls saw my OH coming and knew it was him. He was 100m's away. Surely she couldn't smell him from there? I'm pretty sure he had a shower this morning. She would have had to of recognised him out of all those people? Surely. I believe they can recognise their owners outline/face.
  12. I'm heading up on Thursday for hounds. My baby bitch is entered.
  13. They are starting to be uploaded to facebook page Trafford Photos.
  14. Nah, there was only one boy in Abby's litter and his name is Smiff and he lives locally in Redlands in Brisbane. Oh, I didn't know the pugs were on as well! I'm annoyed I didn't realise Fifi and Rebanne were there on Saturday too! Would have loved to meet you all! Oh well, we'll be back next year
  15. Haha, I was going to stop going with her anyway because she's starting to not co-operate towards the end. She did it on Sunday too. She was okay in her class and in the run off, but when we got to sire and progeny and dam and progeny, she wasn't going to stack for me at all. She was over it! Naughty girl. Thanks! It was great to meet you too! Sorry I didn't get to chat on Saturday. They said they were going to do dog challenge, have a 10 minute break and then the baby bitches would be on. They seemed to go straight into baby bitch from dog challenge! Doh. What a crazy weekend! I pulled out her ribbon today and had a smile at it :p I need to find somewhere to start putting her ribbons and tropheys. Yes, I know that sounds silly, but it's still a novelty at the moment for her to win and get a ribbon ;)
  16. Photo! I just went through and found the best one. I haven't looked through the thousands that we've taken. Baby Puppy in Show - Baldev Blonde Bombshell Opposite - Kislev Ready To Rumble
  17. The baby in show she's just won is at a specialty, so there was no group. Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and kind words I'm VERY happy with my little Monkey and how she's going. Fifi, she won on the Sunday, but I was there on the Saturday. I saw the BIS judging for the sighthound show. I'm still in shock that she won, and I'm sure after I have a good night sleep and relieve some of my exhaustion, I might be able to let the win sink in! I didn't expect it at all as there were three from the litter at the show (including Abby) so the best I hoped for was 3rd, so it was a huge surprise to be pulled out first. Then to win the run off for Baby in Show.. I don't think I could believe it! Once I've gone through the photos, I'll post some. I'm surprised that after driving for 14 hours home today, my three girls are sound asleep after sleeping most of the day.
  18. I'm in a state of shock and exhaustion! What a fantastic weekend for myself and my breeder! It started off with my baby girls mum Ch Orobay Optical Magic (Macey) taking out Best of Breed at the Sydney Royal at 6 years of age. We also think this brings up her Grand Championship title, just need to confirm points. Her son, Ch Baldev Enigma took out Runner Up Best of Breed. We also had our specialty weekend at Castle Hill and we didn't do any good on Saturday, but Macey's breeder, Rhonda (Orobay Beagles) took out Best In Show with her Puppy Bitch Orobay Inspired By Change. Today, Best in Show was another dog bred by Orobay beagles, Ch Orobay Graceful Triumph (owned by Jane Miller), Res DCC was Gr Ch Orobay Optical Precision. Res BCC was Ch Orobay Optical Magic. Runner Up Best in Show was Ch Nangunyah Spell At Kislev. All these beagles were sired by Ch Kislev Gambling Man. But, most importantly of all, at our first ever specialty, Abby was awarded Baby Puppy in Show! If I wasn't so exhausted, I would probably still be jumping up and down! But after 3 days in Sydney, one day of driving and one ahead of us.. I'm so exhausted that it's hard to show a lot of enthuisiasm. I'm very proud of my little monkey and so thankful to her breeders Sara and Hilary for allowing me to have this little girl. For my first show dog, she sure is doing well! Two baby in Show's so far and one Baby in Group. I'm also so extremely proud of my older two girls who have travelled all this way and been so well behaved being put in a trolley and doing things they aren't used too. All considering, all three of my girls have been fantastically well behaved having being thrown in a car for 12 hours and staying in a different place with a whole different routine. It really is amazing how well dogs can adapt to different situations. OH doesn't go without a mention. He's been extremely patient with me all weekend when I've been very tired and cranky from little sleep and stressed and nervous about our shows. I love him very much for supporting us and coming on the trip with me Although we didn't win a new kitchen appliance, I'm pretty sure he's proud of Abby. He wrapped the bronze beagle trophy up in a towel and placed it somewhere safe in the car. Apparently we now need a pool room to put all Abby's ribbons and trophys. Sorry for the long post, pictures will come once we are home and I have a chance to go through the thousands we have. ;)
  19. I'll try! Being an out of towner, I have NO idea where to go to even get to the Royal, let alone navigating myself around inside. I'm not sure how long I'll stay for, as OH and the girls are going to be at the house we've rented. But we'll see! I'd love to meet you all :D
  20. We are leaving Brisbane on Thursday morning and heading down to the Royal on Friday (not showing, just watching) and then our Beagle Specialties on the Saturday and Sunday at Castle Hill. I hope it doesn't rain, showers is fine. I've watched and been to shows with my breeder for over 18 months and only one of those had a storm pass over. The rest it never rained. Now I've been showing my own beagle and every show it has either rained, had showers and humid weather or been blowing a gail. Just once I'd really like to show in some nice weather!

    Hachi

Yep! That was me too! We had our girls all asleep beside us on the lounge and I sat there crying for pretty much over 1/2 of the movie. I wouldn't watch it again (because I'd just cry) but it was a good movie.
  22. We'll be there! Gives my girls a few hours break from the little monkey.
