  1. Great thread. I know my way around photoshop, but would love to see what the pros use in techniques to bring out the best strong colour with-out taking it to the point of everyone looking like a over dousing of Johnson's Holiday Skin .
  2. That is really cool CM. Very cool. Your getting very clever with that camera.
  3. Cool Ashanali. I don't really like that brown sepia as I haven't found a look I like. Had a quick play with your photoshop tips and got a better look. Left: Sepia tone straight room LR (no adjustments) Right: Photoshop I was going to enroll in a photography school. But who needs to with DOL School of Photograhy and Arts.
  4. Maybe these need to be monthly challenges.
  5. Will have a play. Thanks for the tip.
  6. Was it this look with the same cat in it: If so it is a effect in a program called "light room". I got it wrong the effect is "aged photo" . Then just play around with your settings to get what you want.
  7. Thanking you, explained and very helpful.
  8. OK I read my manual and it didn't really go into great detail. I don't read my levels in PS, I go by eye how I want my image and then check my ink weights etc. So how do you read them on your camera and what do they mean? I take it they are helpful to know how to read. Thanks.
  9. You are talking about that graph thing that I can never get rid of sometimes in my screen? Is there a site or something to teach people how to read it? I wouldn't know where to start to understand what it means.
  10. This one I bumped my ISO to 640, I wasnt sure if it was getting to grainy though. How high would you go with your ISO?
  11. Great pictures and ideas people. This idea seemed like a good one in theory, but was a b!tch to execute. The toy is Roc's Kryptonite glow in the dark toy. I had to do this in complete darkness no flash. I am really unsure how you photograph in the dark without a flash. Any tips? I guess a lens with a lower aperture? Nikon D200 ISO200 32mm F/2.8 28.0 Home made tripod from a box of tissues and the dictionary (I knew that thing had a purpose). Lightroom adjustments Photoshop burn in areas
  12. Sounds like a good idea ruthless. Angel Dust I like that reflection.
  13. OK it would seem I am the only one with far to much time on my hands and a camera geek. But due to it being me birthday I thought a cosmo was in order..... about to have alot more soon..... Nikon D200 24-70 F/2.8 ISO100 48mm F8.0 1/250 Light room adjustments.
  14. Had a play with a hideous chair I found in the garage. But I really like the texture and the abstract feel. Nikon D200 24-70 F/2.8 ISO100 27mm F2.8 1/40 and this one just for cute factor.
  15. I plan on buying myself this for Xmas. (I dont have myself a sugar daddy yet ) Prob be ideal for you and what you want? I have had a play on it and it's a nice lens. Esp if money is no object for you, might be a good start. Lens
  16. Here is another tap one that nearly made it in. I wish the drops were sharper.
  17. PossumCorner that sure is "a tap". It's strangely mesmerizing. t(AD)pole I like the biscuits, and the fact that you baked them. Talk about dedication... persephone cool I like the rust.
  18. I like the bones on the nose. Clever dogs. Interesting pattern on the tap too.
  19. No worries Ashanali. Wedding photography honestly isnt something that makes me want to be farting rainbow, but I did see some nice spot colour and these people were so far removed from bogans. If I got married would I do it.... absolutely not. I am paying for sharp beautiful colour. I always say to friends budget wise for a wedding 20% wedding day and 80% dress and the best modern photographer you can find.
  20. Kja I am so sorry. My thoughts going out to them. Take care.
  21. I wasn't defending my work, but thanks anyway. I just thought "bogan" call was a bit rough. Esp when you see how proud some people are of their wedding albums even if they are not very good. Not everyone can afford high end photographers to get that magazine look. Take it a little easy on them. Ah yes "prima donna" I think I had idols 80 theme night on my brain....... who doesn't love the 80's and Madge....
  22. I thought pre-madonnas were only in my industry of work. I saw a wedding album recently that had a few pieces of slight "spot colouring" and they way it was done was impressive and everyone looked beautiful. But I will let them know that they must be bogans then.
  23. Just had a go without Roc attached to me with a tap. It was in a dark dingy place under some stairs. Nikon D200 Lens 24-70 ISO800 60mm F/3.5 1/1600 Light room colours
  24. On a walk with Roc we found a tap. It was tad tricky trying to hold the tap on, hold Rocco and take a picture. Nikon D200 Lens 24-70 ISO1600 (this was mistake as I was in a rush as it was bloody hot and Roc was not happy) 58mm F/20 1/6000 Light room for different tones.
  25. Thanks Raz, she is gorgeous. Good looks run in the family.  Here is my remote, bit of a hard subject as Ralph kept slipping down. Nikon D200 Lens 24-70 ISO200 26mm F/3.2 1/15 Light room for different tones.
