Would Your Photography Be Better If Your Dogs Were Better Trained
rocco replied to ruthless's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I have to admit RocnRalph are a dream to photograph. Well behaved, know what is expected of them and very photogenic. It's me 95% that lets them down with my camera skill. Luckily they are both very tolerant and patient. -
I was wondering if anyone on here has the Tamron SP AF 70-200mm F2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro lens? It caught my eye at Harveys and it looked very solid lens for a Tamron. I had a trial with it on a Canon and it was very fast/sharp nice lens. I was tossing up this over the Nikkor VR 70-200 f2.8. I know the Tamron doesnt have the image stabilizer. But it is a lens that is easily affordable without noticing to much of a dent in the pocket. So just wondering if anyone has this lens and thoughts. I am a sucker for sticking to my "brands", so need encouragement.

Hope you get your camera sorted. It's a shame you are having so much trouble with it. I always think my camera is broken, but really, it's the operator.

Beautiful as usual. Love the background effect.

Thanks Dagboy. This will be interesting as my little sewing machine doesnt do well with hills esp with Roc in the back.

How To Teach Drop From A Stand?
rocco replied to cassie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Cassie I did the same "sit then down" with Rocco and paid the consequences. It was a nuisance because by the time he was in down the class had moved on to another three exercises and we were running to get back into rhythm and Roc is no Michael Flatley. Lesson learnt, to teach drop from stand next dog. Sorry I dont have any advice but good luck with Hudson. -
I'm hoping Roc doesnt meet any dogs.

First, Pink Floyd and now Dali-esque ...... I'm off to take over the world!!
-
You wish! Well, I am LOUDER on here than in real life (IMO!!) Rocco1, is your beast doggy agro or human aggro?? I sort of fancy a slobbery kiss or two (please don't tell K9!!) No he loves people and hugs. He is just a bit silly when he is challenged. Wont back down. Sort of guy to never start a fight but finish one. I just want to learn to handle him better. But also he doesn't do well with dogs he doesn't know in his face.

I am more worried about moving my big beast through. So I could be more embarrassing. Hopefully I will have him poked away before to many people arrive. So where do I hire the GPS aka Mr Tomtom?
-
it is too. Nothing like a bit of Pink Floyd every now and again.

That is a really lovely shot.

Had a play with a CD disc. So capturing the reflection on the back with a red sky. Strange as you had to focus behind the disc to actually get the image to come through. ISO400 28mm f4.5 1/750 Photoshop burn in areas.

Monah I'm old and I'm attending Sat. I hope there is room to move through to give dogs space. Could someone tell me is this place easy to find? Just follow signs to the airport basically? I am a city street rat and don't adventure much outside of that.

Sorry Lyndai but Sahrene your dogs look gorgeous in your signature.

Great thread Lynai. He is so gorgeous and we all get to see him grow, what a privilege. Do we get to see the gangly stage? My camera collected dust around that time with Rocco.

Bag: ISO250 24mm f4.0 1/2500 Appliance: ISO800 27mm f2.8 1/60 I was going to be a bit more adventurous but this will do for my disc. Disc: ISO500 28mm f2.8 1/500

Must try and do something this weekend.

Yep I bought a Nikon D200. But to be really honest, unless you know how to work the camera to get the best out of it, it's not worth it. I started with a D40x and it was great. My D200 is very cool but it is frustrating when you are a bit of a knob trying to learn it. Prob defeating the purpose in flicking it on "p" and going at it large. Where the D40-D90 are just as good for snapping around and easy to use. Plus they are small and compact. The D200, D300 and D3 are big and heavy. Those D3 are super flash. Ruger you have a D3 don't you? I love my D200 but was very happy with my cheap D40x as well. Best advice I got was: put your money into the lens..... or as people call it "glass" :p .... that is were you will see the difference. I have heard those Sonys are very good but that was from a camera retail assistance and some of them don't know their ass from their elbow.

Rugerfly gorgeous pic of the GSP moving. Luke nice job on removing the handler.

Just quick 2 mins blured and darken. I am sure someone could do a tighter job on it. Might be better to pass on a higher-res to work with if you wanted if for further reasons then computer viewing.
-
I thought maybe best to run them for 2 weeks. Gives people more time? First object: Kitchen appliance

Really great the result I see. Everyones pictures look awesome. Ashanali I esp love the look you produced. Such a difference it made. I love those trees too. The ones at the City Gardens are amazing.
