  1. WOW! So similar! My first wedding the photography was BAD. I had no idea how bad as I wasn't fully in the industry back then. Second time around, we got exactly who and what we wanted. Couldn't be happier and yes, boys getting ready shots included... It was Alex in a kilt so there was alot of hijinx. SO SO SO glad for an awesome second wedding with photography.
  2. His Dad is a solid black called Elvis. :D I prefer the orange... it's the bestest colour because they have beautiful dark eyes. Levi... almost right ;)
  3. I did that at a show and the judge awarded BOB to the other dog and then said to me, "YOU lost that". (I didn't stop so they would intentionally run up the rear, I stopped so the bitch could move in front of my dog and get off my rear) Some judges aren't understanding.
  4. And for people around my age, Jan was the go to person for many junior handlers for alot of years. She is also one of very few people who was brave enough to take me aside a few years ago and tell me I looked terrible and she was concerned. She's good people. Farewell Jan. RIP.
  5. uneforceable but good to see that someone is at least TRYING to think of a way to do something positive.
  6. As a wedding photographer, my best advice is to leave the camera at home, relax, have a great day and enjoy yourself. Alternatively, find out if the photographer is staying for the full reception. If they aren't (because most won't) - make that your time to pull out the camera and take all the photos of the dancing and the people at the reception and make that into something special for her. Reception photos can be interesting when a few people have had drinkees...
  7. I know... I had an eek moment when he wrote that then ran away. Brave man hiding behind his computer.
  8. I just got a great one for EEK don't enlarge this if you're offended by bad language. This is a screen grab after a game of scrabble...
  9. It takes 30 minutes in good traffic to drive from Fairfield (RSPCA) to Ipswich and vice versa. I live a couple of minutes away from the RSPCA and have driven to Ipswich many times. From here. Last time I drove it in 25 minutes.

Lovely tribute Serena. He was a real champion.
  15. JS - When I thought if 'wind' that is ONE variation that didn't come to mind. ETA: You can put a photo as 'private' on flickr and still cut and past the URL and share it in groups like this. It just means that it won't show up to people looking through your photostream over there.
  16. I posted on your blog but it would only let me post as 'anonymous'. You might need to check your settings.
  17. One of my extremely early posts here on DOL was about Indian Mynah Birds killing my mum's cocker spaniel puppy (he was about 4 weeks old at the time). He had food left on his face after a meal. Birds must have come for the food an ended up going for his eyes and more. I HATE Indian Mynahs. ETA: I just went and checked the posts from SIX years ago. Pup was older: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=6238&hl=
  18. I know there are lots of people who have blogs for personal and/or work use. Blog love is a good way to increase readership, generate comments and also increase your SEO (search engine optimisation). For it to work properly, it helps if you disable 'no follow'. The instructions to disable 'no follow' for 'blogger' are easy to find using google. Wordpress blogs require a plugin. However, you don't HAVE to do this to be a part of 'blog love' - disabling 'no follow' simply means that robots will crawl your site and also link to people who have left comments. The more links created, the more that google-bots like you. If you choose to not disable 'no follow' then it means that people will leave comments and love and it's just a bit of fun. HOW BLOG LOVE WORKS 1. After you make a post on your blog, come in here and add the direct link to the post. 2. Leave comments on the three or four blogs listed above yours in this thread (at their blog, not in this thread). Don't make stuff up. If you don't like what you see, find an element you do like, "I really like the dog", "her shoes are great!" - just find a positive element to talk about. It doesn't have to be elaborate. sooo... I will go first. here is our latest blog post... the groom is a brother of a DOLer http://savvystudios.blogspot.com/2010/02/t...rash-dress.html (I'll also comment on the next three blogs listed under me)
  19. I would say that dog going off on the other side of the fence is a good reason to keep walking. I would also say that the girl stopping and allowing her dog up to the fence while he is going nuts is akin to taunting. Husband asked her to keep walking ( our dog was told to shut up but girl just stood there with her dog - our dog was getting upset with her dog coming up to the fence), then owner of other dog abused my husband. Husband had tried to call off our dog. He wasn't going to listen while stupid girl stood there with her dog playing dumb. She wasn't calling her dog to heel before she moved, she wasn't doing anything except getting my dog worked up. Girl continued to stand there like an idiot after she was asked nicely to keep on walking. I wasn't out there so I didn't call her an idiot to her face, but I'll certainly call her an idiot now. Also, before we had our dog yard built we always wondered why he went nuts at 4pm every afternoon. After that incident we found out why. I kept a watch. She did the same thing every day. I would have to put her well and truly in the idiot box... particularly since it's also a very wide footpath and no reason to come so close to the fence... even if she stayed on the concrete. ETA: She certainly wasn't using it as a training opportunity. I get the feeling she just thought it was funny.
  20. I have a dog who fence rushes and barks like crazy when SOME people walk past. Most of the time he is in his yard away from the front fence but sometimes he isn't. I hate the people who walk their dogs out the front of my house and let them stop to sniff him through the fence. He doesn't care about the people who just keep walking (with or without a dog) but if you stop out the front of his house, he will try and move you along. Even better was one day when my husband was talking to a client at our front gate and an idiot walked her dog along and when Ronin started going off she stopped walking and let it move closer to the fence. Husband told her to keep walking and she abused him. Hmmm... if she kept walking, he wouldn't have barked. btw - I don't mind him fence rushing ocassionally if it means that people think they might get their arm ripped off if they come in here. It's a good deterrent. (and he wouldn't hurt a fly)
