Jan was the former PAL rep for Queensland and the Northern Territory and was one of the first people I met when starting out. Always a pleasure to meet and have a knowledgeable chat. Always encouraging, particularly of our youngsters. Rest peacfully Jan. It was a pleasure to have known you.

Thank you for your responses. It's nice to confirm there are still no rules regarding this that may have been missed. It's also nice to know there are other catalogue tragics Yes, I was taught to catalogue a class: from oldest to youngest; and same sex littermates in ascending registration number order. This would be similar to some that talked about their specialty catalogues. The example used in an explanation was the German Shepherd Dog. The difference between a Baby Puppy 2 days into the age group and 2 days before moving up to Minor Puppy class are phenomenal. It would *probably* be advantageous to have the older dog in front. This is similar to the way the classes return to the Ring for Challenge judging, given also that some exhibitors could put a younger dog in Open. I would like to emphasise I was taught there is no right or wrong way to catalogue a class, and I have taken on board some of the comments, particularly the ones about "in received order". There are still a few months hopefully before I produce my next catalogue, however always looking at exploring ideas. OK, there are some rules relating to the production of a catalogue. So, I would like to ask another question. Do your catalogues list the Breeder's name? Once again I have seen some that do, and others that don't. Do you think it is important, or the prefix would let the "educated" person know? or at least make it "google-able"?

These remarks are prefaced with a disclaimer. I have researched many times and there do not appear to be rules regarding how exhibits will be catalogued within a class. Would be happy to hear if another jurisdiction has rules that I have missed. Examples I have seen: ** alpha by name of owner; ** alpha by name of exhibit; ** ad hoc in the order they were received; ** age date order from oldest to youngest; ** age date order from youngest to oldest; ** littermates in rego number order; ** and possibly more that escape my failing memory. I have taught people when ordering entries for a show they may arrange them however they like, however a transparent method should be used in order to avoid any finger-pointing in regards to favouritism. So, how would exhibitors like their catalogues to be produced? If you have a preference, why? Have you never really paid much attention? Is the show catalogue important to you?

I was watching Group Specials at the Sydney Royal. They had a nameboard with the name of the judge judging the Group and they had failed to change it from the previous Group. I pointed to the board and mimed a rectangle to the Steward, who understood and changed the board. He quietly made his way over to me about 5 minutes later and whispered “I initially thought you were calling for the third umpire.”

"Could we have Terriers to the Assembly Area please, and bring your handlers!"

To conduct an event that allows each entry a fair go To give "air time" to each discipline and explain to the Public what is happening To educate stewards and potential stewards

Show Manager Contact Details do NOT mean 24/7 attention. Show Secretaries/Managers are usually volunteers and have a life. The affiliate has entered into an agreement by advertising an event. The exhibitor has responsibilities to ensure they have correctly entered into the agreement by completing the entry form correctly. Show Managers manage shows. They are not your mother. They are not responsible for you finding somewhere to sleep.

Which particular drive? A dog's behaviour or personality is determined by measuring percentage against a number of drives. I assisted with the preparation of a report many years ago. Our research included, but was not limited to, the work of Volhard - Canine Personality Profile Thank doG our Beagle is not aware that desexing him has compromised his food drive
