Just curious as to how long it takes to get from Darwin to Alice Springs by road? 1500 kms - so about 15 hours. We previously had an open speed limit, but now it's 130kph outside of townships. I am flying, 2 hours each way.

I'll be there without dogs. Really looking forward to the Centralian hospitality

I missed meeting some people too Pax, Klaus and Nancy, and many others. My only excuse is that it was a big room and the organisers kept the pace going throughout the evening. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners. I warned people on our table that it was likely I would need tissues, and yes, I sniffled through some of he nominations. I might be a big sook, but some of them were truly heartwarming. If you did not at least sniff when listening to the story when Lesley took the stage with her companion then you weren't listening properly I will run the risk of offending some, but my standouts were Chloe and Troy plus Patricia and her very supportive family. Team Sway/Megz :take a bow: ....and a HUGE hug to Steve, truly a wonderwoman

What was that one called darwinroyal? I have rang a couple, one said it was pet friendly, but wont allow show people with dogs as they has had troubles will dogs howling at night. Tibbiemax, it was this one: Gisborne Motel - Andrew was delightful and had special bins for when people had picked up after their dogs. I would be very disappointed if anyone had spoilt it for others. We stayed there in November last year.

Can do that for you Auto Flew into Alice Springs this afternoon and the desert looks incredibly green, a beautiful sight. Didn't even manage to get inside the terminal before a kamikaze fly tried to use inside my nose as a landing strip :D There are some things you forget about the Alice until you get back here :D
