Would You Accept A Foreign House Sitter?
darwinroyal replied to Elina's topic in General Dog Discussion
Elina, there is also this option: WWOOF - one of the Darwin locals was telling me about it recently. -
The Baby line-up was gorgeous. I could have dognapped any of them. The Chinese Crested was another of my favourites, but cute factor alone, it had to be the Corgi Looking forward to the photos Ash.

PIS was the Dalmatian and BPIS was the very popular Corgi The Dalmatian's antics with the rosette were priceless.

Melly, I watched the Paps and said hello to your breeder

The 4th day at the Ekka for me today. I have met some lovely people and some fabulous dogs. I met a man who looked strangely naked without a spoon on his nose, but apparently New Age Outlaw told him the same thing the other day :p Dances with Dogs was a great crowd-pleaser I saw the Xolo. Wow, bigger than I was expecting I might try and get a pat when I go back tomorrow. Really looking forward to General Specials.

The last Brace class I watched was won by two Pointers of Ashanali's breeding. It was poetry to watch, but hard work for the handler Just as a matter of interest I looked at the ANKC site today and it is not a recognised class as such. Our local control had a clear rule previously, but it seems to have been lost in the Rules Review. An interesting "Irish Brace" I once watched was a Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) and a Whippet

Congrats MM I will come looking for Cairn cuddles on Saturday

This is as bad as the pregnancy thread. I am getting text messages from people with internet problems I want to know whether the streaker was competing in Battle of the Greats OR Contest of the Rising Stars? -

It's all good KOE. The results will be sent to me. I know the final three for the Contest and the final two for the Battle. Just waiting on them to have dinner and then make the announcements. Apparently there was a streaker at the Ski Club this evening Methinks he was lucky the dogs were all suitably under control -

It’s always hard to remember everyone with thank yous One idea we trialled last year and did again this year I stole from watching the Hobart Royal – we had the BIG and RUIG winners run around together before lining up the BIS line-up. When I saw it in Hobart it was one of those “light-bulb” moments. Potentially only one of the RUIG winners gets another run around, however this way getting the dog and handler looking fantastic is worthwhile. Shunji Yamamoto, our judge – a lovely BIS line-up – Pug – Jack Russell Terrier – Golden Retriever – Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) – Australian Shepherd – Dobermann – French Bulldog. My stewards – the best, and I love them. In particular Ring Steward Alison. Our loss is Tasmania’s gain. As I said on Saturday night, I am going to miss you so much. Diane takes care of our Hospitality Tent, and she also cooks some wonderful food for our post-Show supper under the big tent. Guru Groundsman Greg – the man that has our grounds looking absolutely fantastic. SWAY!! Number cards were one thing, but the pens were incredibly popular – huge thank you to whelpingsupplies.com.au Hopefully I will have the Trial results and be able to publish a full marked catalogue by the end of the week. Most importantly, thank you to the exhibitors, particularly the newbies and the interstaters that keep coming back. Your excitement and support is what keeps it fresh for me

Incredibly proud of my team again this year. It's late and I am tired so proper thank you's will be later. Have some housekeeping tomorrow before the Gundog Club have their show. Roll on Canine Expo next weekend. I can sit back and watch others do the work

Ooops, you would be right PL Just working on the website now. Nice catch in slips I have heard of second-hand shops, but is there such a thing as second-feet shops? I am in the market for a new pair of feet. Happy to pay good money

Many thanks -Meg- It saved me typing them and I was more than happy to fill in the gaps. Gundogs and Toys tomorrow night, followed by General Specials.

Grounds are mowed. Microphones are checked and working. Sites are marked up ready for the mini fencing tomorrow. Big Shade should be up in the morning. Spent the day watching fighter jets. Yes, it's a Pitch Black year and we are very close to the airstrip. Gates open at 4pm tomorrow to set up gazebos. Then we should be all set for a 7pm start on Thursday. Gates open at 5pm on Thursday and 2pm on the other two days. I will sleep well tonight
