I found the Kennel Club website very useful before I visited New Zealand last year. Troy also has a New Zealand version for Dogzonline. The forum link still comes back to this one.

Darwin leg only for me. Centralia is a little cold for my old bones at that time of year :D I may go visit them earlier in the year though. -
Great news from Queensland :D I hope they realise Open Neuter is now 18(18a), the same as other classes?

Cookbooks have landed.

Megz, you have reminded me, I need to apply for the NT SAFE ochre card: Working With Children It may be something that others need to investigate? The timeframe is 01/03/2011. Part of the checking is whether DogsNT need to authorise letters of authority.

Yay!!! well done. I know you and some of the Councillors have been working on this for a while. If you need a guest person to help out with the admin stuff like entry forms and what Show Managers expect, etc, please give me yell

Fabulous news about Carrie and the wonderful people who took care of her. The reality of the footrot is what keeps reminding me this is going to go on for a long time Some vets can have 10 years experience, the same year over and over. Other vets can experience 10 years experience in one year. Ryan Ayres sounds like one I would like to use.

Noted - thank you Jed. I have family in the area, but will consider this and other options such as MDBA. Like others I am feeling quite overwhelmed at the pictures coming from all over Australia at the moment. It's likely donations will be needed for quite a long time.

Just wanted to pop in and say I read this thread earlier and placed an order for cookbooks. The service is phenomenal I have heaps of time, but looking forward to getting the parcel

Merry Christmas to my favourite shy guy. Best wishes to you and the family.

Meg, not OT at all. In what was a miniscule group in a small show scene you guys have embraced the concept and made not only your Group, but the Class, viable for the whole Show. Your efforts as a small group of like-minded people is fantastic.

I disagree with the notion our governing bodies should make 18/18A mandatory. For them it’s a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” situation. The controls are accused at times of having a Big Brother attitude and over-governing. The Neuter classes are ANKC approved, therefore it is the prerogative of the affiliates to offer the classes. It is the clubs that need to listen to exhibitors and include the classes on schedules. Of course the best change comes from within. Get on board a committee and make the changes if you feel so passionately. ....and yes, it is easy for us to say because the NT has supported Class 18 since its inception, fully embracing and promoting the recent changes. However considering our shows are now attracting less than 100 entries in total we often wonder whether DogsNT is going to survive, but it will not be through lack of trying by the people working hard on committees. As a Show Manager I would probably give up NT Bred or Aust Bred classes before relinquishing the Open Neuter class.
-
My understanding was all affiliates could offer this ANKC-approved class. It was only maybe Queensland refusing to recognise the class? It would be interesting to hear from Queensland-based affilates that wanted to include the classes in their schedules that have been knocked back.

WOW!! Seven neutered dogs of the same breed at a show. That is incredible Oops, just realised. Was it two shows? Congratulations. I believe the national dBase can now cope with when you achieve the required points and can apply for the title.

:woot: WTG gals

Just a small point. The classes are NOT new. The awarding of points towards a Neuter Title is the new issue.
