Hazz, do you use this to prevent injury? the product I mentioned does also contain msm.
-
BTW - I am looking at this product in particular called Flexicose which contains other ingredients such as Chondroitin Sulfate - http://www.flexicose.com/rightlinks/ingredients.html Also for anyone using this product, is the animal and human product the same thing?

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts about the use of Glucosamine as a preventative for problems, am considering using it to prevent injuries for Bella as she does agility and is now 6 (she does not show any signs of problems which is why am I asking if people consider it to be a good preventative)

henrynchlo - I am jelous Gina is such a wonderful instructor, she was in Melbourne doing some obedience seminars and I attended. She was fabulous with all sorts of dogs, with different levels of training and completely different personalities.

I voted other. Usually I use supercoat. It seems to work fine for my dogs and is also convenient as at least the supermarket is open after work hours. A few months ago I stewarded at an obedience trial, one of the prizes was a very large bag of Pedigree Performance (made by Waltham). Someone told me they have used it and loved it so I tried it, all did well on it but Tilly thrives on it, it really suits her. I have also heard great things about Eaglepack, think I might try and get to Petstock while it is on sale, thanks for the tip.

Clicker training is a wonderful tool if you learn how to use it properly. There are many good books and videos, plus Perth has some very good places to go and learn. The websites listed are all great, the http://www.k9events.com site also has trainers and clubs listed.

sounds like you are putting in a huge effort, well done. Too bad the instructor is not a bit more experienced though. The site I listed has some good training places listed if you wish to continue after your puppy pre school. The settle is a great exercise to teach, now you can try and put it in practice while the instructor is talking etc at the puppy pre school, it is not easy though when you have an active dog, it takes time and plenty of patience.

Have a look at this link, it has plenty of information including how to teach a dog to settle - http://www.k9events.com/pups.htm Your pup was also rather young to leave the litter and may have missed out on some valuable 'learning' from mum and the rest of the litter at that age. Talk to the instructor about your concerns after the class, she has seen him in after all and may be able to help.

Mazza told me about poor Britt. It was a sad day, he was such a lovely dog, condolences to you all.

Way to go Vicki & Trim, good luck in the open

Hi, not going myself, if I did I would have to barrack for the opposition LOL. I don't think I need to wish you Ballarat people good luck after seeing your dogs in action, they were awesome. Maybe I will get to one with Bella, we shall see.

Thanks for the lovely comments, wish my photography was as good LOL. BTW - she does weave slowly, I have only done enough with her to get through, I keep promising to practice but I hate them LOL. Luckily she can get around the rest of the course quick enough so it doesn't matter. Might be a different matter in masters though

Does Anyone Here Do Obedience With A Dobe?
helen replied to wyvernblade's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
The top obedience dog of the year in Victoria this year was a Dobe. I saw a few dobes in the obedience ring while competing this year and there are some excellent ones around. -
And a wave goodbye. Wendy's website - http://home.exetel.com.au/wmphotography/index.html

Ballarat Obendience Trial (double)
helen replied to Sparty's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Way to go Sparty, congratulations -
I stopped at the market on the way to training last Sunday as I did not have enough pockets for everything. I got a bum bag for $3.00. It holds my dubmbell, a small squeaky toy, food, keys and phone.
