  1. Hi. Would love to get some software with HDR capabilities which is an affordable price (so not Photoshop CS), does anyone have any suggestions?
  2. Poor Flynn, hope she keeps improving and congrats on the new pups
  3. My dogs were very accepting of Bree for the short time she was here before she found her home.
  4. Sounds like a great opportunity. He has done a couple of training weekends at our obedience club in Geelong and everyone has been very impressed with him.
  5. Delta Society offer a higher qualification than the NDTF and many vets use these qualifications in my area anyway
  6. There are some excellent articles for puppy training on this website http://www.k9events.com Sounds like all is going well though, are you taking him to puppy training?
  7. ;) :p Thanks for the link, love it, but all I want to do now is go get KFC
  8. http://www.k9events.com has quite a few links for nilif hehe - just looked and the main page is the one Staff n Toller mentioned anyway. Here is another good link though I got from K9events http://www.aocb.com/no_free_lunch.htm
  9. This website is great to find trainers - http://www.k9events.com
  10. Hi. Don't know anything about Smugmug but a good Aussie site is http://www.redbubble.com - a few from this forum have added photos to this site. Ooops, just noticed your bit about redbubble at the end, I like it and have made a few sales there. I love Flickr.com for non sales photo site.
  11. I should stay away from Ebay LOL, this is my latest purchase, a product tent, 2 lights and product table http://cgi.ebay.com.au/32-Studio-Light-Ten...8QQcmdZViewItem
  12. There is a book called Training Ralph, I haven't seen it but is written as a story and does cover body language etc - see this link http://www.k9events.com/Aunty_Kaye's_Books.htm Also Kintala make a book Kids & Dogs which is more suited to your older child, lots of information there - http://www.kintala.com.au/books.htm - I have also seen this book in bookstores so you might be able to get one locally
  13. Actually Kelpiechick was spot on about my post. I simply made a remark that I haven't had to resort to this training with my dogs (they will come to me when called which was what the post was supposedly about at that point in time). I made no comment about K9 Force excpect in response to a very unprofessional post - in fact when I had posted the only comment he had made was regarding an anti-bark collar which, in reality, I would love to give as a gift to one of my neighbours whose barking dog is driving me mad - I actually had to go back and read to make sure as I only read the beginning of the post and hadn't even read his post at all, I don't know where the argument is.
  14. I hadn't read this until I saw the thread so wondered what the letter was about. I think the letter expresses the view of many people. There has been a thread on this forum before with the same sentinents and others have written about the articles over time, before they even started publishing letters. I thought his idea at the end was excellent regarding publishing special achievements in their magazine, I would love to see that too. There is so many wonderful teams out there they should be showing just what is possible.
  15. and my Daddy can whoop your Daddy.... Only if he is in the grave too Great response from a professional trainer though
  16. Glad I haven't had to resort to an ecollar for training It took about 5 minutes to teach Bella on your mat with a clicker
  17. It is nice to let you dog walk on a loose lead without having to heel so he can sniff and explore an enjoy his walk more. It is good to be able to heel him though and to keep practicing it from time to time so when other people are passing or when you are somewhere crowded you can do that too.
  18. It is in Geelong, can;t remember when, March or May, I have the job of operating the computer, so entering results and sending them etc. This year Agility Club of Victoria had a trial at Lara. I didn't go as it clashed with something else.
  19. Same for me too. There used to be a few locally (Geelong) so I started agility with NADAC but there haven't been any close for a couple of years now so have been doing VCA. There is going to be a local trial in 2008 but will probably be the only one I will go to
  20. There is no ADAA in Victoria. Go to this website for info on NADAC - http://www.nadacaustralia.com/ NADAC call agility courses regular and have a distance challenge starting from novice. Jumping is similar. They have a few different courses like tunnelers, weavers, touch and go (mainly contacts)
  21. Victoria has to ANKC (run through Dogs Victoria) and NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council)
  22. Sorry about your pup. What I have been told (by qualified people) is that the first vaccination was introduced for the limited times where pups do not have sufficient antibodies from their mother for whatever reason, could be mother's vaccination is not up to date. The 16 week vaccination is important as if the mother has a high level of immunity this will pass to the pups and could last up to 16 weeks making previous vaccinations ineffective. There are some cases for whatever reason the pups immune system never picks up on the vaccination and they never develop antibodies. Parvo can live in the ground up to 7 years, if you have been at your residence less time than this maybe there has been parvo there previously. I would recommend talking to your vets for advice on getting another dog.
  23. Ness, I could team up with your dog as I am the same way, and you could run my dogs LOL

    Parvo In Vic?

In the past I have been taking my pups out prior to 12 weeks for socialisation, but in safe conditions. The last litter one of the new owners was attending the Patricia O'Connell seminar so I kept her for another week or two. I took the pup to the supermarket and stood outside the doors with her in my arms and she met a countless number of people. This was a great way to socialise with many different people without having them on the ground. I also took her to the training club but it is not a public area and all dogs there are vaccinated. This time around I am a bit more paranoid though, have a look at this thread http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=121662
