I don't go there myself but know a couple of people who do and they love it. They do offer trialling classes as well.

Foo Off-season Melbourne Meet
helen replied to The Spotted Devil's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Well I have decided to go and do open with Bella, she was very keen to butt in every time I was trying to do puppy training and is very eager to go out and do something. Not sure about 14th but will definately think about it -
The microchip details should be registered on a database. I suggest you contact the breeder and see who the microchips were registered with and if she has sent in a change of ownership form or if you need to.

Looking For Obedience Clubs In Geelong
helen replied to crazy beagle lady's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I would recommend Bellarine Dog Activities Group, they are under dog training in the yellow pages. Their classes aline with school terms. They might be lucky to find a vacancy at this stage but if not could put their name down for the next term. They are a club using +R training only and the head instructor and a few others are Delta graduates. Class sizes are restricted so they won't get overlooked for some of the 'smarter' breeds -
too cute I like the 2nd one best but would crop it a fair amount

Well I just sold my future obedience/dual champion puppy, I am kicking myself but just can't keep them all

Poor baby. You are just going to have to go outside and show her how much fun it is to be out in the rain LOL

Was the trial advertised on the ozobedience list?

I think clubs are starting to change the way they do heeling. I recently did a beginners obedience class at Geelong Obedience Dog Club. The heeling practice was done in our own little space and in short spurts only with attention being the first objective.

Sure is different. Have you saved with or without ICC profile?

I am doing puppy kinder push ups with the pups now so am looking forward to lots of scratches on my arm as they spring down

For puppy pre schools this link provides some excellent places with qualified instructors - http://www.deltasocietyaustralia.com.au/cg...wsouthwales.htm If you contact the breeder of the pup they should be able to advise what they have been feeding and you should continue with that diet initially. If you want to change diet do it down the track and add the new food very gradually so it does not upset his stomache, just add a litte of the new food to his existing food and gradually add more and more. Also depending on his previous vaccination history it may or may not be a good idea to take him on holidays at this time, you vet will be able to give you more advice.

It would be beneficial to get the behaviour in an eviornment free of distractions (like you bathroom etc) and gradually build up distractions at a level your dog can cope with, set it up for success, not failure. Being a new rescue she may need more time to properly settle in too, but no harm on working on this now PS - here are a couple of links that may help http://www.diamondsintheruff.com/attention.html http://www.clickersolutions.com/articles/2001b/attention.htm
